Why a Million Muslims Filled the Streets to Hear About Jesus, Right in the Heart of Radical Islam - CBN News Stephanie Riggs

Why a Million Muslims Filled the Streets to Hear About Jesus, Right in the Heart of Radical Islam

08-04-2017 CBN News Stephanie Riggs

DENVER, Colo. -- In an era where terrorists often target Christians and radical Islam is tainting peace-loving Muslims, one brave Christian evangelist is building bridges in places so dangerous, most travelers have written them off.

Well-known Bible teacher and evangelist Marilyn Hickey believes those dangerous places are fertile territory for planting seeds of love.

The founder of Marilyn Hickey Ministries recently told CBN News about her trip to Karachi, Pakistan.

"I love Muslims and they love me," Hickey said. "It's beyond my imagination that we would have one million in one meeting!"

But that's just what happened. A million Muslims filled the streets of Karachi to hear this 85-year-old grandmother share the good news about Jesus.

"People may not know your name but Jesus does," Hickey told the crowd.

We asked her how the people reacted to her message.

"They clap and they get excited. Oh, yes, He knows your name, where you are, who you are, has a plan and destiny for your life. I have my Bible, Psalm 139, 'He put you together' and He has a divine appointment and destiny for every human being," she said.

Dr. Hickey began her preaching in a small Denver church, which evolved into an international television ministry that is now reaching out to the Muslim world.

"Before all of this was such a mess, God spoke to me to pray for Muslim countries. I memorized 40 countries and prayed every day for four years or more. Then God started sending me there," she told us.

Daughter healed of brain tumor

"I don't think we should watch the news but change the news," she added.

Hickey gives all the glory to Jesus, and through him she says her mass gatherings have seen countless miracles.

"This is a positive: the Koran says Jesus heals, so when you advertise and say come and be healed, they come to be healed," she said.

"Don't ask me why, they call me Mom. The Muslims call me the mother of Pakistan," Hickey said.

"That's God's favor, but I don't compromise. I tell how Jesus died for your sins, rose from dead. If you repent and believe that He will come into your heart. It is not a compromising message but a healing message for spirit, soul and body," she added.

Bible Teacher Kay Arthur Offers Answer to America's Woes

Join us on our podcast each weekday for an interesting story, well told, from Charisma News. Listen at charismapodcastnetwork.com.

Renowned Bible teacher and Co-Founder of Precept Ministries International Kay Arthur used her time at Liberty University Convocation on Monday to challenge students to apply Scripture as they seek to impact the world around them.
Precept Ministries works in 185 countries and 70 languages, discipling Christians through Bible study, radio programs and student ministries. Arthur has reached more than 75 million people worldwide through the daily television, radio and online programs she hosts. She is the author of more than 100 books and spoke at Convocation in 2013, where she received a rousing ovation in response to her message.
Before Arthur spoke, worship artist Bethany Barr Phillips led students in singing popular Christian songs, including "You Make Me Brave" and "No Longer Slaves." Phillips also briefly shared her testimony of battling cancer and finding strength in her faith in God through that struggle.
Arthur then encouraged students to live outside the mold of societal expectations. She talked about her own life, which could easily have been defined by a failed marriage, moral compromise or tragedy, but instead was given purpose through Christ's forgiveness.
She said that knowing God's Word and applying it are the key to a truly successful life.
"This book is more important than any education at any time in any place," Arthur said, referring to the Bible. "These are the words of life."
Arthur pointed out that society is becoming more secularized and rejecting God. According to Arthur, the problem stems from Christians who are not prioritizing their spiritual lives. The answer to this, she said, is Scripture, which all believers should be studying regularly.
"If you're going to be used in this nation and for this time in this world, then the Word of God has to be priority in your life," she said. "I believe that this is your hour. ... I believe the way that you respond to (the) message that God has for you will determine the future of America."

Ahava Love Letter - "The Cities"

                    “The Cities”

“When He approached Jerusalem, He saw the city and wept over it,
saying, "If you had known in this day, even you, the things which
make for peace! But now they have been hidden from your eyes.”
Luke 19:41-42 NASU

Dear family of friends,

Mondays are a normal day of prayer and fasting for me. I am grateful Bible teacher Derek Prince taught that in the 1970's. I have tried to adhere to it these many decades, though sometimes I didn’t succeed.

Derek Prince -
"Shaping History Through Prayer and Fasting"

As I recently walked that normal prayer lunch time, the uptown city sidewalks became my partnering moments with the Lord, interceding in tongues through His Holy Spirit (Ruach HaKodesh in Hebrew.)

Many were going to their mid-day appointments, concentrating on conversations with co-workers. Others sat on benches, only caring about where their next meal was coming from.

Charlotte, NC - Tryon Street. On my way...

I just kept praying, knowing Jesus' (Yeshua’s) love was for all of them. The sense of knowing He was grieving along with many, whose real hurt was maybe hidden behind the smiles, touched my heart.

Some I hoped were rejoicing and giving thanks for this day, believing that their Savior had good plans for them each day. But I think those numbers were few among the crowd. And so I walked on. Praying on.

Inhabitants of cities around the world need the Lord. They need to know of His salvation, mercy and love. The vast majority of cities know nothing of His real nature. They only see and believe the lies having been passed down through the centuries. The lies telling them that “The Man upstairs”, as some call Him, has little to do with their life.

Or that if God is so loving, why are all the wars, hatred, and evil going on daily in the cities world-wide? “Can’t He do something about it?” they might even ask.

The clear message of the Gospel is that God is a loving Father, who sent His only Son Jesus to live among us, die in order for us to live, and rose from the grave, to alone be the only Savior of the world.

Isaiah 53:5

“There is salvation in no one else! For there is no other name under heaven given to mankind by whom we must be saved!” (Acts 4:12 Complete Jewish Bible)

The truth shared, to each as he or she will listen, can break the bonds that entangle so many, and give freedom to the spirit, soul and body. As we pray daily for our families, our cities, our nation, and those in Israel, we will see His Kingdom established.

I believe my regular fasting and prayers are having an effect, and so I will continue to do so. Maybe you will join me? See some results for yourself.

Ahava (love in Hebrew) to my family of friends,
