Christian Group Helps Ethiopian Jews Make Aliyah to Israel
CBN News 12-29-2017
Eighty-two Ethiopian Jewish immigrants landed at the Ben-Gurion Airport in Tel Aviv last week, bringing to 1,200 the total number of Jews from the East African nation relocated to Israel by the International Christian Embassy Jerusalem.
The Christian group is helping the Israeli government relocate 1,300 members per year of this ancient Jewish community until all of the remaining 9.000 Falash Mura tribe are reunited with their families in Israel.
A decision concerning the second year of these flights is still tied up in the Israeli cabinet. However, once approved, the ICEJ has promised to raise the necessary funding needed in order to continue to make this dream a reality.
In 2017, the ICEJ has donated $1.2 million toward the immigration project, including funds to help the immigrants transition to a new language and culture. Donations for the project have come from around the world, including generous donations from African Christians.
"The great ingathering of the Jewish people to Eretz Israel is still continuing and it is a real privilege and joy for our organization to play such a central role in this historic return to Zion," said Dr. Jürgen Bühler, President of the ICEJ said in a statement.
"We know that these latest arrivals from the Ethiopia community will never be the same as they rejoin their families and become fully part of the modern miracle of Israel," he continued. "Some of these families have been separated now for over two decades, and so it a special honor for us to help bring them back together here in the Jewish homeland."
In total, the ministry assisted more than 3,000 Jews to relocate in 2017, including from Ethiopia (1,200), Russia (1,100), Belarus (800), Ukraine (70), and India (50). Since its founding in 1980, the ICEJ has helped nearly 140,000 Jews return to their biblical homeland or roughly ten percent of all Jews who have relocated in that time period.
This represents an investment of over $50 million in the relocation efforts, with most of the assisted Jews coming from the former Soviet republics but also thousands from Western Europe, North and South America, the Bnei Menashe from India, and the Kaifeng Jews from China.
Founded in 1980, the ICEJ is considered the largest global pro-Israel Christian ministry, with branch offices established in over 95 nations and a reach into more than 170 countries worldwide.

Israeli society sometimes fails, but Yeshua's love never will! - ONE FOR ISRAEL

Dr Erez Soref President of  ONE FOR ISRAEL
Shalom!

Our campus is a reflection of the cultural diversity found in Israel today. There are people from all kinds of backgrounds, from many different countries of birth. As followers of the Messiah Yeshua in Israel we celebrate unity in diversity, bringing riches from around the world.

Last weekend, the Ethiopian Jewish community celebrated the festival of "Sigd" which celebrates receiving the Torah and longing for Jerusalem. For those Ethiopian Jews who have finally made it to the Promised Land, it's a day of great rejoicing. However, life isn't always so easy for African Jews when they arrive in Israel, as Avi explains...

THE ETHIOPIAN COMMUNITY IN ISRAEL

Approximately 140,000 Ethiopian Jewish people live in Israel today, about a third of whom were born in Israel. The majority came in the massive airlifting operations of 1985 and 1991 - Operation Moses and Operation Solomon - helping them to "Make Aliyah" (return to Israel) collectively in the thousands. However, the culture shock and transition has proved extremely challenging, exacerbated by the racism they have subjected to on their arrival. There have been some significant problems such as poverty and unemployment among many Ethiopian families and communities as a result.

SUPPORTING THE NEEDY - HOLOCAUST SURVIVORS AND PRO-LIFE FAMILIES

Many people live in poverty in Israel, particularly among the elderly and those who survived the Holocaust. We provide food packages to Holocaust survivors on a regular basis, taking provisions that they can enjoy at home and also blessing the social club where they meet and find support. Over the holiday season, we took them special holiday gifts, which brought lots of smiles!

Additionally, as part of our humanitarian aid program, we help Pro-life families who choose to keep their babies, providing practical support and help when circumstances are overwhelming. These families struggle to put food on their table, and we come alongside to help and support those who have chosen life.

One Pro-life family we help has five children and recently had no food in their fridge or food for their baby. On top of that one of their children was diagnosed with a severe infection and was hospitalized. The mother contacted our team from hospital and asked for immediate help with basic food items for her family before the Sabbath started and they would not have food for the weekend. We were able to offer support and immediate help. Please pray for S. their son who needs healing!

Another family we help has six children and the Father recently was imprisoned for four months leaving the mother on her own struggling to survive. Our team was able to visit the mother and provide all the basic baby food and items as well as provide basic food items for the family and provide support and love. Please pray for T. as her husband is in Prison and her family depends on her.

Ethiopian Jews in Israel

"You must tell them the truth, the reality of the situation", said my Ethiopian friend, when I asked her what she wanted the world to know about Ethiopian Jews in Israel. And it's a tough reality, but not one without hope.
God is at work in every part of Israeli society, and the gospel is reaching Ethiopian Jews in all sorts of ways - especially the younger generation. Continue reading...

Should Believers In Jesus Follow The "Weird And Primitive" Laws Of Moses? Why Did God Gave The Torah Anyways?

When we journey back over the millennia into the ancient Near East, we enter a world that is foreign to us in many ways. Within this context, God raised up a covenant nation and gave the people laws to live by. As we'll see with regard to servitude, punishments, and other structures, a range of regulations and statutes in Israel reveals a God who accommodates. Yet contrary to the common Neo-atheists' caricatures, these laws weren't the permanent, divine ideal for all persons everywhere. A new, enduring covenant would be necessary. Continue reading...

Israel's Prophetic Role in Fulfilling the Passover Right Before Jesus Returns - KELLY MCDONALD JR. CHARISMA NEWS

Israel's Prophetic Role in Fulfilling the Passover Right Before Jesus Returns

KELLY MCDONALD JR.  CHARISMA NEWS
Standing With Israel
"When the hour had come, He and the twelve apostles with Him sat down. And He said to them, "I have earnestly desired to eat this Passover with you before I suffer. For I tell you, I will never eat it again until it is fulfilled in the kingdom of God" (Luke 22:14-16).
In the first part of this series, we reviewed the basic understanding of Passover. We also discussed the powerful revelation Jesus gave us at his last Passover on planet earth. He said that it would not be fulfilled until the Kingdom of God. There is a fascinating prophecy in Jeremiah 23:1-8 that helps us unlock the puzzle. I have included an excerpt from verses 5-8.
"The days are coming, says the Lord, that I will raise up for David a righteous Branch, and he shall reign as king and deal wisely, and shall execute justice and righteousness in the earth. In his days Judah will be saved, and Israel will dwell safely. And this is the name by which he will be called: THE LORD OUR RIGHTEOUSNESS. Therefore, surely the days are coming, says the Lord, when they will no more say, 'As the Lord lives who brought up the sons of Israel out of the land of Egypt,' but, 'As the Lord lives who brought up and led the descendants of the house of Israel out of the north country and from all countries where I had driven them.' Then they will dwell in their own land" (Jer. 23:5-8).
Just before and during the return of Jesus Christ to rule and reign on planet earth, the children of Israel and Judah who are scattered across the world will return back to the land. It will be so great that in the kingdom of God we will not discuss the Exodus from Egypt. Instead, we will discuss this final return from captivity.
There are parallels between the Exodus from Egypt and the coming return from captivity. For instance, 10 plagues struck Egypt. The first three hit Egyptians and Israelites alike. The last seven only were poured out on the Egyptians. In Rev. 18:4-6, an event that happens just before the return of Jesus, the people of God are commanded to leave Babylon and not share in her plagues. This refers to the seven plagues of God's Wrath found in Revelation 16.
A couple of weeks ago, we reported on the Ethiopian Jews who are returning back to the land. The prophecy in Jeremiah specifically mentions a return from the north. Just two years ago, Benjamin Netanyahu called for 'mass immigration' of European Jews to Israel. Just last year, a report was released detailing how many Jewish people in France are moving to Israel. We are seeing some Jewish people return now. Many more will return home.
As we remember the Passover season this year, let us remember the Lamb that was slain. But also, let us not forget the Lion that is returning to bring Passover to its full meaning.
