Best Hatikva We've Ever Heard ✡ "For a Tree has Hope" - ISRAEL365

For a tree has hope; if it is cut it will again renew itself, and its bough will not cease.

JOB (14:7)

כִּי יֵשׁ לָעֵץ תִּקְוָה אִם יִכָּרֵת וְעוֹד יַחֲלִיף וְיֹנַקְתּוֹ לֹא תֶחְדָּל

אִיּוֹב יד:ז

Today's Israel Inspiration

Job poetically describes a tree of hope: if cut down, it will sprout anew, and “at the scent of water it will bud” (Job 14:9). Jewish tradition compares man to a tree, also full of hope and potential, where no matter how difficult a situation, there are unending opportunities to renew. Bring hope to the nation of Israel by planting your very own tree of hope. Our roots are strong when we stand together.

Best Hatikva We've Ever Heard

This may just be the best version of Israel's national anthem that you've ever heard. In Hebrew, "Hatikva" means "The Hope" - a fitting title for a nation that has survived thousands of years with undying hope to return to the Land of Israel!

Israel's 67th Independence Day! ✡ "To Live in Freedom in Our Land"

To live in freedom in our land, in the land of Zion and Jerusalem.

HATIKVAH

לִהְיוֹת עִם חָפְשִׁי בְּאַרְצֵנוּ אֶרֶץ צִיּוּן ויְרוּשָׁלַיִם

הַתִּקְוָה

Today's Israel Inspiration

Today’s section comes from Naftali Herz Imber’s 1878 poem “Hatikva” which later became Israel’s national anthem. Meaning, ‘The Hope’ in Hebrew, Hatikva expresses the Jewish desire to “live in freedom.” However the Biblical notion of freedom is quite different from how others define it. In the modern world, people fight for freedom from some undesirable entity while the Torah stresses that true freedom is the freedom to follow one’s own intellectual and spiritual pursuits. In fact, the loftiest goal in the Bible is for a person to relinquish their freedom and be a ‘servant’ of the Almighty. Support the Defenders of Freedom in the Holy Land this Independence Day!

The Messianic Prayers of Israeli Independence Day

Coming from a most inspiring Israeli Independence Day Prayer Service at my local synagogue in Ramat Bet Shemesh, Israel, I realized just how “messianic” our prayers are. To many Jews, “Messianic” has become almost a dirty name here in Israel, since it has come to refer to the group of Christian missionaries who subvertly try to convert Jews to Christianity.

I will return the captivity of My people Israel...

I will return the captivity of My people Israel and Judah, and I will return them to the Land that I gave their forefathers, and they will possess it.

Today's Israel Inspiration

Israel’s Independence Day, which falls next Tuesday, is always preceded by Yom Hazikaron, a Memorial Day for the fallen soldiers. The reason for connecting these two days is very clear: Israelis owe their independence to the soldiers who sacrificed their lives for it. In honor of these upcoming holidays, support the LIBI Fund, the official fund of the IDF, and you'll receive an Israeli flag pin!
