Christian Drilling Company Strikes Oil in Northern Israel - Israel Today

Christian Drilling Company Strikes Oil in Northern Israel

Wednesday, February 14, 2018 |  Israel Today Staff
Zion Oil & Gas several months ago began drilling at its new license in the Jezreel Valley, following the vision of company founder John Brown, who believes vast amounts of oil will be found in the Holy Land to the benefit and blessing of Israel.
The Dallas-based Christian-run company announced on Tuesday that it has found clear evidence of oil at the well.
During operations to clean the well bore, Zion reports that it encountered "free-flowing" oil while circulating the drilling mud.
This is a big breakthrough, and offers more than a little hope that there are, indeed, substantial oil deposits in the Promised Land.
In a statement released by the company, Zion's President and Chief Operations Officer, Dustin Guinn, said that this "is obviously very exciting news and as a result, we have decided to continue to drill up to another 70 meters (about 230 feet). We expect that to take a couple of days, and barring any operational difficulties, we will continue with our open hole logs immediately thereafter."
Zion CEO Victor Carrillo cautioned that the company cannot yet "comment on the commerciality or ability to successfully produce the well," and urged backers and shareholders to "continue to pray for safe and successful drilling...and for God's wisdom for management as we make key decisions in the following days and weeks."

Christian Oil Company Begins Drilling in Northern Israel - Israel Today

Christian Oil Company Begins Drilling in Northern Israel

Friday, June 09, 2017 |  Israel Today Staff
After years of planning, preparation and fighting for the relevant permits, Texas-based, Christian-owned Zion Oil & Gas officially began drilling in northern Israel this week.
For years, Israel Today has been covering the progress of Zion Oil, a company that exists solely to bless Israel (and, by extension, those who bless her - Gen. 12:3) by discovering the natural resources the Bible suggests lie below the surface of the Promised Land.
Zion Oil "exists because of God's faithfulness to Israel," company founder John Brown told Israel Today in 2011.
At the time, Brown was convinced that the Land was just waiting to spill forth its bounty for the Children of Israel. And he remains convinced of that today.
The new drilling site is located in the Jezreel Valley region of northern Israel.
Zion Oil's Megiddo-Jezreel License is firmly situated in the Levant Basin, an area that experts estimate holds up to 6.6 billion barrels of oil.
The coming months are going to be very exciting for Zion Oil, and the entire nation of Israel.

Israel Today - Christian oil company boosts exploration in Israel

Christian oil company boosts exploration in Israel

Tuesday, May 21, 2013 |  Ryan Jones
Zion Oil & Gas, an American Christian-run company, submitted a new exploratory license last month that will significantly increase its efforts to find oil in Israel.
Zion already explores for oil in areas covering some 218,000 acres of the Jewish state on its Asher-Menashe, Jordan Valley and Joseph licenses. The new Megiddo-Jezreel Valley Licence would add another 98,000 acres of territory.
Israel is generally supportive of outside efforts to find oil in the Holy Land, and is particularly intrigued by Christian involvement in that enterprise, even if many local experts remain skeptical about the chances of actually finding commercially-viable amounts of crude.
Israel Today spoke with Zion Oil & Gas during a company visit to the region in 2011. Founder John Brown said the company "exists because of God's faithfulness to Israel," and expressed his firm belief that the land will one day soon spill forth its bounty for the children of Israel.
That contagious optimism has infected some Israeli petroleum officials, including former Petroleum Commissioner Yaakov Mimran, who previously said that deep strata exploration, like that carried out by Zion, could soon pay off.
