Even To These - Now Think On This by Steve Martin

“And the King will answer and say to them, 'Assuredly, I say to you, inasmuch as you did it to one of the least of these My brethren, you did it to Me.'” Matthew 25:40, NKJV

The journey is complete. The Lord has directed my steps. I have gone in obedience and shared His truths to those in the remote areas of India. In my part of the world, this region of India would be considered the “backwoods”, as is a most common expression in the USA where I live.

By car the journey was 4 hours one way, into a state of the country that Pastor John Ebenezer said was not safe for us to spend the night. Being we needed two days to be with the church pastors in this region, we thus had to make two trips on consecutive days.

Formerly the communists had taken over this far countryside of the southeastern region of India. One of the terrorists who came from that ideology had been hunted down by the Indian government after a bounty had been put on his head. He was found and killed. Thankfully his younger brother did not follow in his footsteps. This one now plays the keyboard in the church meetings for worship, after getting saved five years ago. He is serving the purposes of God where darkness ruled prior.

We each have a choice, and road, to choose. Some choose death. Others choose life, by acknowledging the Lord Jesus as Savior and King.

Even to these the Lord reaches out His hand and heart, to bring them into His Kingdom. Even to these, where computers are rarely found, the people live in two-room homes, and 10 rupees (less than $1.50) are a sacrificial gift in the church offering. How precious they are in the Lord’s plans and purposes.

I asked myself, knowing others too ask, “Why come 17 hours by air, then drive another 8 hours from Hyderabad by car to spend time with these ones?”

Jesus went out of His way to spend time with the Samaritan woman. He chose to travel on foot from Jerusalem to the northern parts of Israel. He sought those who would receive His Word, obey, and walk in the life He has to come, now and forever.

That is why. I follow His example.

Those with the large following wouldn’t do this. Their time may be more well spent in reaching the masses. If the Lord has called them to this, then they do well to walk in that calling.

As for me, He has given me this open door, to go to those who have no TV, no large gathering venues outside of a crop field, or who do not have the means to travel the distance where others would gather to hear the Word. So, He sends me to them.

As we each do our part in fulfilling the call of the Lord on our life, He will direct our steps, He will provide the means, and He will see to it that those who hunger and thirst after Him will receive the teaching, the gifting, and the hope He desires to give to all.

Go where He sends you. Do what He tells you. Reach those who also who need to hear His full gospel. Whether to the ones in your backyard, your business office, your school, or to those who reside in the ends of the earth.

Now think on this.

Greetings.

I have been in India the last 9 days, returning home late Friday night to Charlotte, North Carolina. The time spent with over 150 pastors in 2 conferences, plus 2 more church meetings, enabled me to share the love of the Lord Jesus, His plans and purposes for Israel and the Jews, and how Christians owe a debt to the Jews for tthat which they have passed onto us from God the Father - the Bible, the Prophets, and most important of all, Yeshua HaMasiach, Jesus Christ.

These Jews, who stood all through these centuries, in the midst of persecution and death, were still being lights to the nations, through the feasts, their obedience to God, and preserving the life He seeks to give all believers in His Son, Jesus.

Enjoy these few photos I share here. Also, look at the over 50 short videos we have on our YouTube channel, Walk With Me -, Steve Martin in India

Going Again. - Now Think On This by Steve Martin

Going Again.

“And this gospel of the kingdom will be preached in all the world as a witness to all the nations, and then the end will come.” Matthew 24:14, NKJV

In February of 2010 I made my first journey to India, with the Lufthansa flight landing in the city of Hyderabad in southeast India. Accompanied by my good friend Edgar Persad, I was to spend the next week teaching 70 pastors of the Lord’s purposes and plans for Israel, and their responsibility now as believers.

Accepting the invitation of Pastor John Ebenezer, who donned wreaths of gorgeous flowers around our necks, after we came through the airport gate (they were heavy!), our journey began in the early morning hours.

Having never been to India, the experience was much the same as the time in 2002 when my good wife Laurie and I joined the “smuggling team” of Derek Prince Ministries, carrying stowed Mandarin Chinese Bibles in carry-on bags into mainland China.

It was not so much that Edgar and I were carrying Bibles now, but with the fact that as people were also everywhere in the huge cities, as in China, we were ready to bring the Lord Jesus’ saving and lasting Word to these pastors.

One of the first things that caught my attention in this very populated nation were the street intersections. There seemed to be no working stop lights but rather a lone policeman directing traffic. He certainly had his work cut out for him. Try as he might, very few gave much attention to his waving hands. It was a bit comical, and yet scary, that the taxi drivers just held their hand on the horn and drove right on through. Including our van driver!

After 10 years since that time, I am returning again to these people in February 2020. Though I will be traveling alone this time, with two pastors' conferences on schedule, I too will have a full workload up ahead.

Pastor John Ebenezer with Indian pastors 2010

On August 9, 2019, I received this letter from Pastor John. You can see his heart for the pastors he oversees, to understand the biblical command to bless Israel and the Jews.

Dear Steve,

Shalom. I thank you so much for keeping me at your home in July, and able to share all we needed. Now I have to ask please, in regard to your upcoming trip, to bring this teaching to India church pastors about Israel and the Jewish people, and Yeshua. I want you to explain the meaning of God’s plans to the people because they don’t know much about them of Israel, at least not in a complete picture. So I feel better to encourage them to study more and learn much about Israel pray for the nation of ISRAEL each day in India. once again thank you so much shalom...

I wrote this back to him:

I certainly will, John.

I am going to start at the very beginning, with Genesis and explain God’s plan of redemption and salvation coming through the Jews, starting with Abraham (though he himself wasn’t a Jew, but was a man of faith.).

All the Hebrew patriarchs and matriarchs, prophets and apostles (except Luke) were Jews.

And Yeshua Himself, God in the flesh, was, and still is, a Jew.

Plus. I will teach on how Jews were dispersed, even to India, beginning in 70 A.D., and know how the Lord’s plan is being fulfilled prophetically, right before our eyes, in bringing them back to their Promised Land. It is known as aliyah.

And somehow, I want the pastors to “give” something to bless Israel. Doesn’t have to be money. You can think of whatever. They need to know how to bless Israel and the Jews in the natural, even as they have so given to us, Gentiles, in the supernatural, beginning with the Torah, the Word of God.

Shalom John,

Steve

About two hours later John quickly wrote back, something that he normally is not given to, considering the conditions he lives in, within his simple, village lodging in India. Having been there myself, it is very simple.

As one example, when he is in India, and not traveling throughout the USA, wi-fi, thus email can be challenging to obtain, especially out in the remote villages where we have gone and will go again.

John’s response email, as follows.

Dear Steve,

Thank you for your message which I have seen and it's very good to them and to me too, to teach others in my country, and as you know that you have visited the village Mucherla, in the district of Khammam. the state of Telangana, which is a new state. Formerly it was with the state of Andhra Pradesh. Now we’re separated as of 3 years ago. It’s close to Khammam, a city now with 3 million people. Everything we get from there. Even the hospitals and stores etc. are only in Khammam. There is no other big town nearby to me nor in all around the district.

Servant for the poor,
John Ebenezer

Going again, back to India, was not something I had planned on. But as the Lord opens doors to go, we must hear and obey. He wants the nations to know what He is doing. We must be the ones to share it with them. All aspect of the Gospel of the Lord Jesus Christ, Yeshua HaMashiach. We must preach His Word as much as we can, while the time permits.

Now think on this and see what good things the Lord has in store for you and those around you.

Burdens Lifted - Now Think On This by Steve Martin

Burdens Lifted
- Now Think On This
by Steve Martin

"In fact, God wants to help you out of your troubles. He wants to take away your burdens that are crushing you. He wants to load your table with plenty of food.” Job 36:16

In 2010 I made my first trip to India. I say my first because I expect the Lord to take me back there soon again. The people of Hyderabad, Kamman and Muerchela touched my heart, as the Lord Yeshua had taken me there to touch theirs with His love for His people.

Traveling down the road with my good friend John Ebenezer, a pastor on the never-ending go, I was amazed at the load people would carry on their heads and back. They slowly walked along the side of the road, heading to their daily destination as they had done so many times before. From my vantage point the weight they carried seemed overbearing on their frail bodies.  It was a heavy burden to carry, and I wondered how they could do it day after day.

In the southeastern India big city of Hyderabad, having well over sixteen million inhabitants, we had stopped at a local store to get some provision for the evening meeting. Out front of the intended destination, wearing a sarai, a full colorful dress, a woman was carrying sand bags to the one man mixing cement for the construction job they had. I was able to capture a few shots with my Canon camera, as I watched in amazement as she quietly worked in the hot sun. What a picture it was, both in the natural and the spiritual. What a burden she had.

Carrying a heavy load is mentioned several times in the Word of God. The Holy Spirit, Ruach HaKodesh, inspired the writers to share of the day to day efforts put forth by people, to simply get daily bread. We can read of the daily routine – getting up in the morning early hours, sweating through the day in the hot sun, and going back home to rest as best one can for the next day. And then only to do it all over again. As it is today for many in the nations’ populations.

The burdens we tend to carry weigh us down, in spirit, soul and body. The conflicts we experience in relationships; the stress we have in constantly carrying concern for getting the bills paid, raising the kids, or the sickness that drags on, drains our emotions and saps the life out of us. And then we go through it again the next day.

This reality in life deeply effects both our natural and spiritual state. Sometimes it can be so overwhelming that we want to be as Job’s wife spoke to him in Job 2:9-10, “Why do you still hold on to your integrity? Curse God, and die!” But he answered her, “You’re talking like a low-class woman! Are we to receive the good at God’s hands but reject the bad?” CJB

As I observe people around me on the job, stress levels at a peak, or those walking the streets, while constantly on the go, I find myself drawing near to the Lord, pressing in to experience more of His care, for them and myself. Resting in His peace, finding the shalom He has given, and trusting in the promise to cover us in His grace, puts my heart at ease. Just knowing He understands and provides for everything we need lifts the heavy burden we often feel we have to carry alone.

Having that peace in our heart, that our burdens don’t have to rest squarely on our shoulders, but on His, gives you and I the break we need. As we seek Him, in order to know of His love, to do His will, and walk in His grace and provision, we experience the sense of contentment and assurance He alone provides. He is there to carry us along, and the burdens we have.

We are not called to bear it alone. Jesus, Yeshua, has made a way for us to keep our eyes fixed on Him, and to rest in His Almighty love. As we turn to Him, giving Him once again the concerns that want to load us down, we can find that His load is light.

"Come to Me, all who are weary and heavy-laden, and I will give you rest.  "Take My yoke upon you and learn from Me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and YOU WILL FIND REST FOR YOUR SOULS. For My yoke is easy and My burden is light." Matthew 11:28-30 NASU

You don’t have to carry that heavy daily load by yourself. He has made a way, and we are to walk in it. Call upon Him today.

Pastor John Ebenezer sends kids' photos from Muerchela, India

Pastor John Ebenezer, one of those whom we help support through our Love For His People ministry, sent these photos of kids this week, along with photos of pastors and women in Muerchela (SE India).

In Feb. 2010, I met 70 pastors John had sponsored (travel, lodging and food expenses) so they could come together for his annual Pastors Teaching Conference in that village. He had me speak six times - several messages on the importance of Israel.
