They're out to destroy the President, there is a demonic spirit on them and the economy is already showing signs of this constant destabilization of government. The US House of Representatives honored the life and legacy of famed evangelist Billy Graham Tuesday evening after he passed away last week at age 99. 

Several members of Congress spent an entire hour giving speeches to celebrate the life of the man many called "America's Pastor."

"Billy Graham was a lion of the Christian faith and a believer in the all-encompassing love of God for all people," said Rep. Randy Hultgren (R-IL), who hosted the special hour.

"I remember way back in 1971. I was 5-years-old. My mom and dad brought me down to McCormick Place down in downtown Chicago to be apart of the Billy Graham Crusade," he recalled. "I was a little 5-year-old boy, but I still remember that night. I remember the power of the message. I remember the power of this messenger of God sharing his love for us. But also the truth of the love that Jesus had for us."

Other lawmakers also remembered the deep impact Graham had on their life. 

"I had the opportunity to meet Dr. Graham a few feet from here several years ago at one the presidential inaugurations. While I had that chance to meet him that one time, you felt like you knew him," said Rep. Robert Aderholt (R-AL). "He was very clear in how he presented the gospel and he will be greatly missed by a world that desperately needs more people like Billy Graham."

"I remember the first live crusade I went to. Billy Graham was there in the 1980's. As a young pastor, a pastor for 20 years, I had the opportunity to meet him. As a young pastor, he signed a Bible for me, which today remains a treasure," added Rep. Jody Hice (R-AL)

Graham was also remembered for the great strides he made during the Civil Rights movement. 

"A lot of people don't realize the close relationship he had with Martin Luther King Jr.," noted Rep. Barry Loudermilik (R-GA). "In the 1950s, when Billy Graham came to the south and he was going to preach at one of the crusades, he noticed there was a rope running through the middle of the congregation. A rope that separated whites from blacks. He was so offended he went and asked that the rope be removed. When the ushers refused to do it, Billy Graham went and move the rope himself."

While much of the hour was spent honoring Graham's life, the true emphasis was on the gospel message for which he devoted his life. 

"What we don't need to forget is the message of scripture. The Message of God. The message that talks about our condition. That we are sinful and separated from God," Hice shared.  

"That we have committed things that separate us eternally unless they are dealt with. And that gospel message from the scripture that Billy Graham so eloquently shared was that God loves us and gave his Son to die in our stead," he continued.

Hultgren ended the special hour the same way Graham ended his crusades — with a call to repentance and offer of salvation.

"Many people remember from the Billy Graham Crusades the closing of those crusades were led with a call for people to come forward, but also with an amazing hymn, 'Just as I am':

    Just as I am, without one plea,
    But that Thy blood was shed for me,
    And that Thou bid'st me come to Thee,
    O Lamb of God, I come! I come!'"

Graham will lie in the Capitol Rotunda Wednesday morning, an honor reserved only for those who have left the most impact on American culture.  He is the first civilian to be so honored since civil rights warrior Rosa Parks in 2005.

Do You Know What Is In The Tax Bill That Congress Is About To Pass?

A conference committee has been merging the tax bills that were passed by the House of Representatives and the Senate, and even though we could still see some minor changes, it looks like the major parameters of the final bill have now been agreed upon.  The final bill will be known as the Tax Cuts and Jobs Act, and we are being told that it will be one of the largest tax cuts in U.S. history.  Unfortunately, the impact on our tax bills will be relatively minor, but at least it is a step in the right direction.  The following summary of the major provisions in the final bill comes from AOL…

• A less generous corporate rate cut: Republicans may cut the corporate rate to 21% from the current federal rate of 35%, instead of the 20% proposed in both the house and Senate bills. The new rate would start in 2018.
• A lower top individual tax rate: The top individual bracket would drop to 37% instead of the 38.5% proposed in the Senate bill. It would still be down from the current 39.6%.
• Keep the estate tax, but raise the threshold to qualify: Instead of phasing out the estate tax over time, like the House bill, the compromise bill would instead simply increase the threshold for an estate to qualify — from $5.6 million to around $11 million. That aligns with the Senate bill.
• Repeal the corporate alternative minimum tax (AMT): The corporate AMT in the Senate bill was a sore spot for many companies because it would have negated the effects of many popular deductions and credits, like the research and development credit.

The reduction in the corporate tax rate is probably the most important provision in this tax overhaul package.  For decades, the United States has had a much higher corporate tax rate than much of the rest of the world, and this has given large corporations an incentive to locate operations elsewhere.  By making the corporate tax rate more competitive with everyone else around the globe, it is hoped that this will mean more good jobs for American workers.

This bill also reduces individual tax rates, but not by that much.  So you will notice a reduction in your tax bill, but don’t expect anything “game changing” in nature.

In addition, this bill will eliminate the Obamacare individual mandate.  This is something that should have been done back in January, and I am very happy that Congress is finally getting it done.

It is anticipated that both the House and the Senate will vote on the final version of this tax bill next week.

Sadly, it is not a slam dunk that this bill will actually get through the Senate.

Senator Bob Corker voted against the original Senate bill, and he may vote against this version too.

Ron Johnson of Wisconsin and Susan Collins of Maine have also expressed reservations about this bill, and it is unclear how they will vote at this point.

And let us not forget that Senator John McCain’s health is rapidly failing.  Hopefully he would be present for any vote, but there is no guarantee that will happen.

In the end, Republicans can only lose two votes in the Senate, and so this is going to come down to the wire.

But President Trump is quite optimistic that this bill will succeed, and he says that it will “breathe new life into the American economy”…

“Our tax cuts will break down — and they’ll break it down fast — all forms of government and all forms of government barriers and breathe new life into the American economy,” Trump said.
“They will unleash the American people, they will tear down the constraints on discovery, innovation and creation, and they will restore the hopes and dreams of the American family. Millions of middle class families will win under our plan.”

Of course even if this bill passes, our tax code will still be a complete and utter nightmare.
The tax code will still be over two million words, and the regulations will still be more than seven million words.  Our system will still greatly favor those that can hire accountants and tax attorneys to find every conceivable loophole possible, and it will still be a tremendous burden on the middle class.

If I am elected to Congress, I am going to fight to completely abolish the IRS and the income tax.  As I travel around Idaho and speak to groups, many are extremely receptive to these proposals, but they wonder how we would fund the government without an income tax.

Well, the truth is that the individual income tax only accounts for about 46 percent of all federal revenue, so we could definitely eliminate the individual income tax but we would also have to dramatically reduce the size of the federal government at the same time.
And we have a historical precedent for what this would look like.

Between 1872 and 1913 there was no federal income tax, and it was the best period of economic growth in U.S. history.

Of course the Democrats are not just going to roll over and allow us to cut the size of the federal government in half, so in the short-term we can focus on some other solutions.  A flat tax or a fair tax would both be far superior to the system that we have today, and there are some very good proposals already out there that just need to be implemented.

I once spent an entire year studying our tax code, and I still shudder when I think about those 12 months.  Our tax code is a complete and utter abomination, and while I applaud Congress for trying to “simplify” it, the truth is that this bill that is about to be passed won’t make that much of a difference.

We need to fundamentally change the way that we fund government in this nation, and that is why I want to completely abolish the income tax.  The system that we have right now is simply not fixable, and we should not pretend that any “tax reform bill” is going to solve our problems.

As I began to call forth a new sound over the United States, a powerful spiritual authority came on me. I started doing something I had never done before. It was like I was reaching into President Trump's voice and pulling out the new sound. With authority, I kept reaching in and declaring, "I call forth the new sound! I call forth the new sound!" As we pray like this, the new sound will come forth with greater anointing, authority and clarity. "A New Sound and a New Season: A Word for the United States"

The political situation in the United States is full of contention and strife. The primary issue is not politics. There is a spiritual battle raging. The real issue is the destiny of a nation. Into this situation, God is calling His people to exercise priestly authority. Priests have spiritual authority (1 Peter 2:5, 9, Revelation 1:6, 5:10). In praying for the United States, God led me to do two things:

1. Call forth a new sound.
2. Take authority over the air waves.

The Bible talks about a new song (Psalm 33:3, 40:3, 96:1, 98:1, 144:9, 149:1, Isaiah 42:10, Revelation 5:9, 14:3). Interestingly, this new song is connected with a change in the atmosphere and a change in spiritual government. Israel's King David carried this new song. He was used by God to call forth a new sound over the nation of Israel. Contention and strife were replaced by proclamation and praise. The atmosphere over Israel changed dramatically. The destructive force of internal conflict that was tearing the nation apart was replaced by a national resolve to confront their true enemies.

As I began to call forth a new sound over the United States, a powerful spiritual authority came on me. I started doing something I had never done before. As we pray like this, the new sound will come forth with greater anointing, authority and clarity. We have authority to call forth a new sound over the President, the Congress, the Senate, the Supreme Court, the Media, and the Church.

Taking Authority Over The Air Waves

The second step God led me to do was to take authority over the air waves. Spiritual government is released through air waves. Air waves carry voices, sounds and attitudes. These voices, sounds and attitudes, become seeds that bring forth a harvest. Satan is called the prince of the authority (Greek exousia) of the air (Ephesians 2:2). But satan is not the only authority operating. There is also the authority of the new sound which carries both the government and the heart of God.

In the book of Ephesians, Paul highlights the real battle, "For we do not wrestle against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this age, against spiritual hosts of wickedness in the heavenly places" (Ephesians 6:12). The battlefield where this "wrestling" takes place is the air waves. That's why the weapon that combats demonic agendas is the sword of the Spirit, the Word of God, wielded with authority and anointing (Ephesians 6:17). God's Word carries His government and His heart.

When demonic agendas are clamoring for attention, they dominate the air waves and leave little room for anything else. We can take authority over the air waves so that they are cleared and set apart for godly agendas. We don't have to be intimidated by the contentious sounds that are coming from the media, the government, or the arts. The priestly authority God gives us is much greater.

A New Season

When Israel stepped into the land of Canaan, they entered into a new season. With this new season there was a different sound. While they wandered in the wilderness for forty years, things were relatively calm. They lived under a continual grace from God that released the basic provisions that they needed. They spent this time in barren and sparsely occupied regions. This meant that they caused little contention with other nations. When Israel stepped into Canaan, this changed. Now there was an anointing to possess the land. Israel moved from maintenance anointing to change agent anointing. That was a big shift. It caused an uproar. Change often does.

The United States is in a season of change. For some it can seem like God was in the relative calm and quiet of the previous season and not in the uproar and chaos of the new season. But realize that sometimes chaos is actually caused by God. It's time to move into the new season. Don't be intimidated by the chaos.

Step into your priestly authority and call forth God's purposes. Call forth the new sound. Take authority over the air waves. Foundations are shaking and will continue to shake. Old foundations will unravel and disintegrate. New foundations will come forth. God is setting things up for a great awakening. Great shaking will be followed by great awakening. It's gonna be huge!

The reason why I have not been posting new articles lately is because I have been on the road.  I have been in Boise since Monday, and absolutely amazing things have been happening for the campaign.  I spent most of Tuesday and most of Wednesday at the Republican booth at the Western Idaho Fair.  I shook a lot of hands and passed out a ton of brochures. Thanks to you guys, we have the best looking and highest quality campaign material of anyone running for any political office in the state of Idaho.  And we also have a source that can print brochures for much cheaper than anyone else is getting them.  We are stretching every single campaign dollar as far as it will possibly go, and if you would like to contribute to the effort you can do so right here. On both Thursday and Friday, we had a series of terrific meetings with some of the most politically influential people in the entire state.  Thanks to our relentless promotion on social media, we have created an enormous amount of buzz all over the district.  Many of these highly influential people were not familiar with my work before, but because of the efforts of our team people everywhere have been talking about this campaign. At this point, we have had more campaign website traffic than all of the other candidates combined, more Facebook page likes than all of the other candidates combined, more Twitter followers than all of the other candidates combined, more Instagram followers than all of the other candidates combined, and more YouTube views than all of the other candidates combined. On Friday, we did a video to help Sara Walton Brady of Health Freedom Idaho get the word out about what happened when she tried to enroll her five-year-old in kindergarten.  If you have not seen the video yet, you can view it right here. The copy of this video on YouTube that I am sharing has less than a hundred views so far, but the copy that we uploaded to Facebook already has nearly three thousand views. As a member of Congress, these are the kinds of battles that I am going to be constantly fighting.  If you believe in what I am trying to do, I would like to ask for your support. Our first FEC quarterly deadline is coming up at the end of September, and people all over the state are going to be looking very carefully at how our fundraising is going.  If we are doing well when the report comes out, that is going to encourage even more individuals and organizations to donate. Perception plays such a huge role in politics, and that is why your help is so critical right now.  If you would like to help us have a fantastic first quarterly report, you can do so by donating right here. I am the most conservative candidate in this campaign by a wide margin, and everywhere we go we are winning people over with my extremely strong pro-liberty message.  If we can effectively get my message to everyone living in this district, I will win. Raul Labrador holds this seat right now, but he is not running again because he is running for governor instead.  So it is absolutely imperative that we fill this seat in Congress with an extremely strong pro-Trump conservative, and I am the most conservative candidate in this race.  Those of you that have been following my work for years know my heart, but in order to win we have got to get my message out to those that aren’t familiar with me. Compared to the rest of the country, it doesn’t take a ton of money to win races up here.  But if we aren’t at least on the same playing field as the other candidates, they could simply beat me by dramatically outspending me.  Last quarter, before I was in the race, attorney Dave Leroy raised the most money.  He had less than 100 donors, but because he had people writing large checks, he was able to raise quite a bit. This quarter, I have already had far more donors than he did all of last quarter, but because this is a grassroots effort a lot of people have been donating small amounts.  So it is going to take a whole lot of smaller donations to keep up with the $1000 and $2000 checks that he has been receiving. Thankfully I have far more name recognition than Dave Leroy has, and if we are at least on the same playing field when it comes to fundraising he isn’t going to have a chance.  I need your help, and if you would like to contribute you can give online on this page. We don’t need any more politicians.  What we need are fighters that are going to fight like mad for the things that we believe in. If you aren’t aware of where I stand, I would encourage you to check out my issues page and the 16 core principles that I set out in a previous article.  If you believe in the same things, I would encourage you to get behind my campaign like so many others all over the country are already doing. Freedom is never free, and if we don’t stand up for what we believe, the left is going to walk all over us. Our constitutional rights are being continually eroded, and the monstrously bloated federal government that we have today looks nothing like the extremely limited federal government that our founders originally intended. The larger government becomes, the more tyrannical it tends to be.  Communism, fascism and socialism are all big government ideologies.  Yes, we are always going to need some government because otherwise we would have anarchy.  But like many others have said, I want a government so small that I can barely see it. Please help me win this election, and please help me restore true conservative values to Washington. If so, I would like to ask you to support #TeamTrump candidates for Congress all over the nation. I am running on a pro-Trump platform in Idaho’s first congressional district, and so far I have created an enormous amount of buzz all over the state. But in order to win, I have to get my message out to hundreds of thousands of potential voters that are not familiar with my work, and that is going to take a lot of time, effort, energy and resources.  It is humbling to be in a position where I am forced to rely on others, and I am learning how to reach out and ask for help. Right now, many Democrats are having absolutely no problems raising money. If the Democrats win control of the Senate and the House in 2018, they are going to impeach President Trump, and their donors smell blood in the water. And an effort may be made to impeach President Trump anyway if the composition of Congress stays about the same that it is right now. Many establishment Republicans would jump at the chance to stab Trump in the back, and that is why it is absolutely imperative that we get Trump a lot of friends in Congress in 2018. Whoever wins the Republican primary here in Idaho’s first congressional district next May is going to win the general election the following November. There is no incumbent running for this seat, and I have a feeling that my primary opposition may come from a RINO in the state legislature that is rumored to be entering the race shortly. If this particular RINO ends up winning, he will be no friend of Trump. But if I am elected, I will do whatever I can to stop the investigations into Trump and his family. It is abundantly clear that these investigations are simply witch hunts, and I will fight as hard as I can against the efforts of the Deep State to remove Trump from office. The fate of the Trump presidency is going to hang in the balance in the mid-term elections, and many of these congressional elections are going to be decided by who raises the most money. If I can get my message out to every voter in this district, I will win, because I am much more conservative than anyone else in the race.
