Today's Headlines Signal Convergence with 'End of Days' Scenario, Rabbi Says

You only have to look at today's headlines to see that history is speeding up and the world is moving closer to an end of days scenario, a popular Israeli rabbi said.
In anticipation of the upcoming solar eclipse on Aug. 21 and the alignment of stars and planets in September, CBN News asked historian and Rabbi Ken Spiro what Judaism has to say about the relation of celestial events to prophecy and the coming of the Messiah.
"We're only a few headlines away from direct convergence of that biblical 'end of days' scenario with the headlines in the news today," Spiro told CBN News. But the question is not so much about what's happening in the sky as what's happening on the ground.
"God is always speaking to us," Spiro said. "It's a fundamental belief in Judaism that everything that happens in the world is for a meaning and there's a message hidden in there somewhere, even in the astronomical phenomenon."
Correlation between Heavens and Earth
But according to Spiro, the question is always how to interpret "astronomical phenomenon" in light of history.
"The question would be to see whether there is a correlation between something happening up in the heavens and then we see something actually happening down on earth," he explained.
"It's not a big phenomenon in Judaism to look at things like eclipses, solar or lunar, comets and try to directly relate them to specifically here is happening here on the planet Earth, but again, God controls everything and if something like that is happening, a major astronomical event, there is definitely some meaning," he said.
According to Spiro, there are classic examples in the Bible of God's signs in the heavens, like the sun and moon standing still for Joshua in the Givon and Ayalon Valleys.
'God Can Suspend Laws of Nature'
Most of the time, he said, God works within the laws of nature that he already established. That means "most of what we call miraculous phenomenon are natural phenomenon with really good timing," he said. "But there are situations absolutely where God can suspend the laws of nature," like the darkness that covered the earth during the plagues in Egypt just before the Exodus.
And there is the end of days prophecy in the Book of Joel that says the moon will be turned to blood and the sun to darkness at the coming of the great and terrible day of the Lord.
"Now, that could be interpreted as eclipses by the way. You know, the moon turning to blood is called the blood moon actually, which is what happens in a lunar eclipse and when the moon—when you have a solar eclipse, the sun disappears and turns to blackness. So there in the prophets it's talking about signs we see at the end of days. Whether that is what it's meant to be interpreted as remains a big question," he said.
As for the "buzz" among some Christians in the U.S. about the upcoming celestial events, Spiro said it's not generating the same enthusiasm in the Jewish world for two reasons.
Exercising Caution
The first reason is because there's been so much "Messianic expectation in Jewish history" in the past that "Jews are very wary about reading into specific people, specific events or specific astronomical phenomena that this it. Because then when it doesn't happen it's a big letdown."
The other reason is that there are so many prophecies being fulfilled that the Jewish people are focusing on that rather than heavenly signs, he said. He likened the coming of the Messiah to birth pangs and the contractions getting closer and closer together before a woman gives birth.
"So, too, events on the planet Earth will get more and more intense and happen much more rapidly and certainly I would say things are speeding up very dramatically in the world, the change that is taking place, the political upheaval, the technological advances, as to whether that is linked to astronomical events that are coming, we'll only know [when it happens]," Spiro said.
"We could be hitting that end of days scenario," he continued. "Certainly time is definitely running out and as we see by what's going on in the world, in a positive and a negative way—I mean the rebirth of the state of Israel, the reunification of Jerusalem. We just celebrated the 50th anniversary of that. I mean that's unbelievable, that's prophecy coming true before our eyes. The nations of the world lining up against Israel, largely, what you see going on in UNESCO, the United Nations is clearly a sign," he said.

Paulette Reed: "Convergence: Where Faith and Life Meet"

THE ELIJAH LIST  Feb 11, 2016

Steve ShultzFrom the desk of Steve Shultz:
Scripture tells us that "...without faith it is impossible to please God" (Hebrews 11:6). This is a great word from Paulette Reed about the Faith God is calling us to this year. Remember that often our faith does start as a seed and it may look dormant for a season BUT it will grow!
Paulette shares:
The faith that God has been building in you, those seeds you've sown in different arenas of your life, and all the love the Lord has poured in and out of you is about to explode for the purposes of God in this coming year.
Yes, be very expectant as you see many things come into fruition this year as God is honoring your faith and trust in Him!

Miracle Growth
As I've been in a season of quietness lately, contemplating the past year while also looking for signposts for the coming year, Holy Spirit clearly spoke to my heart and said, "Faith grows by using it, a seed grows by sowing it, and love grows by being it."
At the surface of this statement, I realize that most of us already know this. But when we receive an utterance from Heaven, the Lord's Spirit speaking to our spirit, that word becomes ours. It's like a prophetic arrow that hit the bull's-eye, a word for this time and for this season.
The faith that God has been building in you, those seeds you've sown in different arenas of your life, and all the love the Lord has poured in and out of you is about to explode for the purposes of God in this coming year. This year is going to be a year of convergence for many in the Body of Christ. Let's take a look at the three areas the Lord spoke to my heart – faith, seeds, and love– before we look at how they all converge together.
Faith Grows by Using It
Think back to last year for a moment, and then write down a minimum of five prayer requests the Lord answered for you. You prayed and believed, sowing seeds of faith in your heart; your prayers spoke life into those seeds as they germinated, similar to planting seeds in a field.
It's amazing to realize that while planting these seeds of faith, we become conduits for God's will to be done on earth as it is in Heaven
By writing down answered prayer requests, we set up stones of remembrance that will testify of God's goodness forever. The Book of Joshua tells us about the importance of these stones and how our faith grows by using it:
"Now when all the nation had finished crossing the Jordan, the LORD spoke to Joshua, saying, 'Take for yourselves twelve men from the people, one man from each tribe, and command them, saying, "Take up for yourselves twelve stones from here out of the middle of the Jordan, from the place where the priests' feet are standing firm, and carry them over with you and lay them down in the lodging place where you will lodge tonight."'
So Joshua called the twelve men whom he had appointed from the sons of Israel, one man from each tribe; and Joshua said to them, 'Cross again to the ark of the LORD your God into the middle of the Jordan, and each of you take up a stone on his shoulder, according to the number of the tribes of the sons of Israel.
Let this be a sign among you, so that when your children ask later, saying, "What do these stones mean to you?" then you shall say to them, "Because the waters of the Jordan were cut off before the ark of the covenant of the LORD; when it crossed the Jordan, the waters of the Jordan were cut off." So these stones shall become a memorial to the sons of Israel forever'" (Joshua 4:1-7).

The more stones of remembrance we accumulate over our lifetime, the more our faith becomes actual knowledge. We no longer think the Lord will do something for us; rather, we know He will do it. And knowing that God is actually working on our behalf leads us to Habakkuk 2:14, where we see that we are to fill the earth with the knowledge of the glory of the Lord: "For the earth will be filled with the knowledge of the glory of the LORD, as the waters cover the sea."
What is the knowledge of the glory of the Lord that the earth will be filled with? Well, no human can truly define glory any more than we can define God. But, we do know that glory is the fullness of God, and it is a topic that's higher than our ways and too complex for our finite minds. We also know that when God gives His glory, He gives of Himself.
So glory is all that God is – His splendor, honor, praise, worthiness – and all that He has.
As our faith grows by using it, then it becomes usable knowledge. When we accumulate this knowledge by cultivating faith in our hearts, then we are filled with the Lord's glory so that we become more like Him, more Christlike, and we have more of what He has. Therefore, filled with the knowledge of the glory of the Lord, we have provision for our vision.
Romans 12:3 tells us that each of us is given a measure of faith: "For through the grace given to me I say to everyone among you not to think more highly of himself than he ought to think; but to think so as to have sound judgment, as God has allotted to each a measure of faith."
As our measure of faith is stretched, it grows – our measure of faith increases. God longs to strengthen our faith, causing us to grow more and more in the use of our faith, so that when the Son of Man returns, He truly will find faith on the earth (see Luke 18:8). (Photo via Pixabay)
Let's be attentive, Beloved, and make certain that our measure of faith is growing. I see too many people get stuck in survival mode, and their faith lies dormant. We know that the Israelites went from not enough, to just enough, to more than enough – that's what the Lord wants for us as well. This is because the more we are blessed, the more we can be a blessing to others.
The Apostle Paul reminds us of this in 2 Thessalonians, declaring that faith grows as we use it: "We ought always to thank God for you, brothers and sisters, and rightly so, because your faith is growing more and more, and the love all of you have for one another is increasing" (2 Thessalonians 1:3).
Think about it: How will you know how much faith you have if you don't use what God has already given to you?
A Seed Grows by Sowing it
The second thing Holy Spirit said was that a seed grows by sowing it. He didn't say that we throw our seed about; He said that we actually have to sow it. Paul wrote, "A man reaps what he sows" (Galatians 6:7). That means that if a farmer plants corn, then that same farmer will reap corn; if he plants soy beans, then of course he reaps soy beans; likewise, if he plants cotton, then he'll reap cotton.
Whatever we sow is what we are going to reap. Or to say it another way is that we never reap something we didn't sow. When I need clothes, I sow clothes. When I need money, I sow money. In my life I have sown dining room sets, bedroom suites, entertainment centers, and even a car. To God be the glory, I have reaped them all back when the Lord knew I needed them.
So, as we travel on our journey with Jesus, we learn to sow our seeds and we speak life over them. We pray and water them with the Word of God, nurturing them in our heart, being careful never to speak curses but blessings over them. Not only that, but we also expect a harvest of the seeds that we have sown. (Photo via Freeimages)
Just as our faith grows by using it, so our seed should grow by sowing it. And, keep in mind here, that the seeds we sow should be getting bigger and bigger, because we are reaping larger blessings as a result. If we sowed $1.00 ten years ago, we'd better still not be sowing the same $1.00.
The Word of God commands us to be fruitful and multiply (see Genesis 1:22). The smallest number that we can multiply is 2, which means if we sowed $1,000 last year, then this year we should be thrilled to sow at least $2,000. We don't add a little every season – we multiply it.

Love Grows by Being it
Many years ago, someone significant in my life said to me, "I just don't like people. I mean, I just don't." When this individual said this to me, I knew in my heart that it was just not right. And so I thought, "I'm going to love people. That's what God would do." I relate this brief interaction to illustrate the point that we have to make the conscious choice to love someone – it doesn't always flow naturally out of who we are.
In fact, love is the bedrock of Christianity. Christ died for us because the Father was motivated by nothing other than His great love toward us. Jesus didn't call 10,000 angels to get Him down from the Cross – it was because of love that Jesus became a human, dying the death we deserved, so that we could have the life He deserved.
It was love that held him on the Cross so that we could be forgiven. Likewise, everything that we do as disciples of Christ should be motivated out of love. Especially as a prophetic people, we cannot be prophesying without love or we are nothing but a clanging cymbal or a noisy gong.
The love we carry will be consistently tested so that it can grow. Alleluia...I think. God doesn't want us to stay at the same love level as we walked in last year. He longs for us to grow as we continue to behold the God of love: Jesus Christ Himself.
When a man came up to Jesus to ask Him what the greatest commandment was, Jesus quoted an Old Testament Scripture, saying that a person is to love God with all of their heart, soul, mind, and strength. This is the greatest commandment.
But then Jesus quickly followed it up by saying that the second commandment, which is much like the first, is that we are to love our neighbor as ourselves (see Matthew 22:37-39). If you're really struggling with loving someone, then press into God and His love will flow through you. Jesus said in John 13"Love one another, even as I have loved you." We only love because He first loved us.
(Photo via Pixabay)
I think that one of the greatest ways to test our love level is to go on a mission's trip. When you have ten women staying together in one room, then you'll know what I mean when I say that we have to consciously choose to love others. This can also happen in our day-to-day lives – at the marketplace, the grocery store, or even in the church parking lot.
Each time we bump into others, there is an opportunity for our love to be tested. Consequently, our love can't really grow if we're isolated. How exciting it is to know that each time we pass a love test, our level of love is bumped up. Let's make it our prayer this year to ask God for a fresh baptism of love – ask Him to fill you to overflowing with His abundant and steadfast love.
Convergence
This year is going to be a year of convergence. Convergence is when your dreams, gifts, talents, skills, and Christlike character all come together at a point in time, and they come into alignment so your destiny can explode.
I recently ordered a stainless steel pizza rack for a large luncheon I was hosting. When the pizza rack arrived, I took it out of the box and for a moment I couldn't find the opening where eleven pizza pans could slide onto the shelves.
It was then that I realized the company I ordered from had inadvertently sent two pizza racks, which were locked together. As I separated the two racks, Holy Spirit spoke to me about the idea of convergence – that 2016 would be a year of convergence. (Photo via Paulette Reed)
Of course, we need to first build up and develop our dreams and our destiny, otherwise there wouldn't be anything to converge.
But when we have built and prayed and used our faith, sown our seeds, and loved as Christ loves, there is an amazing convergence that takes place where we see an explosion of Kingdom productivity.
We can't actually make a convergence happen, but there are a number of ways we can cooperate with what Holy Spirit is doing in our lives. I think many, many people never get to the point of convergence in their lives because they aren't aware of the Kingdom process.
For one thing, we can stay focused and avoid distractions, learning to stay in the rhythm or the flow of Heaven and not strive. We need to be faithful, sowing seeds, loving God's people, and always listening for the still, small voice of God. And of course we trust God, remaining grateful, to cultivate an atmosphere where convergence takes place.
I believe that convergence is always God's intention from the time we're born. We see it in the Old Testament with Joseph, who had favor in prison and everywhere else he went, and he ended up ruling a nation. We see it manifested in the life of Daniel, as he interpreted the king's dream with his spiritual gift – his gifts converged with his environment and he had provision for the vision.
Let's make our mantra for this year to be "Convergence: Where Faith and Life Meet."

A Star Shall Come Forth From Jacob - Richard and Carolyn Hyde from Heart of G-d Ministries in Israel

"I see him but not now; I behold him but not near; a star shall come forth from Jacob, a scepter shall arise from Israel and crush the head of Moab and tear down all the sons of Seth."  Numbers 24:17
School ministry Munich

"What should I do?  I'm a Muslim"

After a fruitful time of ministry in public schools in Germany, several students asked this question.  So we told them to look to the founder of each religion.

"What did Mohammed do?  He stealed, killed, and destroyed.  And what did Yeshua do?  He healed the sick, delivered the possessed, had showed compassion to the poor and lost, etc.  So who do you want to follow?  No one can force you to believe; it's your choice."
The students replied, "We will follow Yeshua!"
Planetary conjunctionOn October 27th at 3 AM Carolyn and I were travelling south from Haifa to the Ben Gurion Airport.  When we started to head east we beheld a site that almost took our breath away.  In the eastern sky were three bright lights on the horizon.  Two of them looked like they were joined together with one being much brighter than the other.  My first thought was that it was man-made - perhaps drones.  But they were too big and bright to be drones - and they weren't moving.  They were stationary and appeared to be hovering over Judea, near Jerusalem or Bethlehem.
We checked the internet and found an article from a Jewish site, The Times of Israel with this headline:
As planets align, some see return of Jesus' Star of Bethlehem
The rare convergence of Venus, Jupiter and Mars this week has some wondering if it's time to cue the Magi
Could this be a similar phenomenon to what the Magi had seen in the sky which led them to Bethlehem 2,000 years ago?  I later found out that there were four planets; Jupiter, Venus, Mars and Mercury in the sky along with Regulus, the king star. If that wasn't enough, on that same night in the western sky, we saw the first full moon after the fourth blood red moon of the tetrad.  This amazing planet/star configuration was in the eastern sky while the full moon was shining in all its glory in the western sky.  Truly awesome!
This is a simulation of what we saw:
I discovered that in the year 2 BC this extremely rare planet/star configuration could be found in the skies over Israel.  G-d announced the coming of His son the first time with a special sign in the sky.  The second time, when Yeshua returns, G-d will announce His return with signs in the sky.  Could it be the same sign that we were privileged to see?

When we arrived in Munich Germany we were invited to the leadership meeting of The Gathering, a meeting at the Olympic stadium where thousands of German believers were gathering.   During a special meeting a Persian man declared that a group of 40 Iranians were sojourning to Israel.  They would be bringing precious gifts to Israel just as their ancestors, the Magi, did over 2000 years ago.  When we heard this we almost fell off our seats.  Carolyn looked at me and said, "Do you know what the L-rd told me to put in my purse before we left Israel - a bottle of Frankincense? I've never done anything like that before."  When we shared with the Iranian believers they were overwhelmed and gratefully accepted our offer to anoint them with the frankincense.
Do you remember the promise the Magi made to Herod as they were leaving him on their way to Bethlehem?  They said they would report what they had found, but they were later warned by G-d in a dream to go home another way.  2,000 years later that promise is being fulfilled.  Their descendants have returned and they are reporting what they have seen - that Yeshua is the Messiah, the King of Israel!  As they travel through Zion they're telling Jewish Israelis that they used to shout "Death to Israel", but after finding Yeshua, they now love and pray for her.  Outstanding!
Upcoming Journey
We look forward to a ministry journey in Texas and Louisiana from Nov. 11-29.  If you'd like to join us at any of these meetings, please check our website schedule for dates and times.  Shalom y'all!

Prophetic Insight, from Charisma Media
After almost weeks of rain and historical flooding, the sun is shining in South Carolina! However, they tell us that the dams are continuing to break and that the flooding is not over. Water from the mountains is still trickling down, and more barriers are expected to break.
But I hear the Lord saying, "Barriers have been broken, and they are correct in saying more barriers will break! This flood was only the beginning! Barriers made by man's hands will no longer stand against what I am doing in my South Carolina! From the mountains to the sea, they will see the goodness of the Lord in the land of the living! Out of the wilderness places, I am flushing out my beloved ones; they are coming with fire! Even as it was in the days of Noah, so shall it be with you. The flood brought cleansing and was a promise fulfilled. ... Many have been crying out for My reign!
"Noah warned the people and for 100 years he prepared a place of refuge. The rain came, but after the rain the sun came, and with it the rainbow, the sign of the covenant! The rain fell, and the flood came, but I tell you this: a company of Ark Builders is yet arising! They are my sons and daughters who are proclaiming and preparing for My return!" "So, you too, when you see all these things, recognize that He is near, right at the door" (read Matt. 24:33).
The Water Is a Sign
"This water was a sign of things to come! Now I am making a covenant with you, South Carolina and with North Carolina! I am making a covenant with you! I am making a covenant with this generation, and it comes with a promise!  It's a promise of My return!" the Lord says.
"Lift up your heads, O you gates; lift up, you everlasting doors, that the King of glory may enter" (Ps. 24:9)
"My Bride will arise without spot or blemish, and every knee will bow and every tongue proclaim the Name above all Names, Jesus!
"Carolina will be a voice to the nations! She will not be satisfied with lukewarm Christianity. She will be pure and will passionately pursue my heart! She is washed with water, but soon she will be baptized with Holy Spirit and Holy fire! (read Matt. 3:11).
"You have seen the promised rain, but I am about to release Holy Fire!
"My promise is true! As She unites, She will no longer be called 'A State of Division,' but She will be called 'A State of Intercession.'  She will no longer be known as the state that pioneered oppression and division, but one who will pioneer freedom!
"She will be a state flooded with my glory and who burns with desire for Me! As hearts become unified with each other and with Mine, My glory will fill her dry ravines. Just as the 'bow ... in the clouds' was a sign of a covenant promise, the time will come when I will fulfill my promise to return in my glory in the clouds (Gen. 9:13, Mark 13:26). My weighty glory and mantle of this promise is upon you, South Carolina!
"Watch and wait, for you, my beloved Carolina, will be a voice to the Nation! I will release my fire after the rain! This rain was just a sign of my coming. The fire of My passion and My glory will burn hotter in my Bride; for I will blow on her with the winds of My Spirit!"
Convergence is Coming
"A convergence is coming from east to west! You will be called a 'House of Prayer,' an 'Altar of Fire' and you will be a home to many of my people from different regions," says the Lord.
"As the world grows cold, my people in the Carolinas will burn. As the world rages around you in the coming days, you will host my presence and my peace. You will not be known for the flood, but for the fire!
"Therefore, be alert! My messengers are emerging like a flood in this hour! They are bold as lions but meek as lambs. They are full of compassion and love but execute my justice, for they know they are mine! They will speak the truth with the very tone of My voice! Do not reject them, for if you do you, will again become a reproach. They will break the man-made religious and political barriers, smash the idols of impurity, and restore My Heart into this land! He who has an ear let him hear! I am mantling you:
"In doing these things, you will no longer be a reproach or a barren land. Break forth in song oh Carolina. SING, for the barriers are breaking! The night is over, the SON is shining! Let the fire fall and sing! I make a holy covenant with you!"
"Shout for joy, O barren one, you who have borne no child; Break forth into joyful shouting and cry aloud, you who have not travailed; For the sons of the desolate one will be more numerous than the sons of the married woman," says the LORD. "Enlarge the place of your tent; Stretch out the curtains of your dwellings, spare not; Lengthen your cords And strengthen your pegs. ... " (read Is. 51:1-2).
