Desperation - Now Think On This by Steve Martin

Desperation

Now Think On This
Steve Martin

“When I was desperate, I called out, and God got me out of a tight spot.” (Psalm 34:6, The Message)

The Merriam-Webster dictionary states that desperation is the “loss of hope and surrender to despair.” Loss of hope is a terrible thing. When there is no hope, not much else is left to cling to.

There will certainly come a time when many will reach a point where things get desperate, with no seemingly place to turn, people to call, or even a hopeless prayer to be said. Of course, having no belief in God, with many of these it is happening already.

Those who have no faith, whom have denied the factual proof of the Living God of Israel in their heart, head and history, trusting instead in their deceived mind, may never reach the point of salvation. Instead of giving up the pride that has exalted them to lofty human levels, they continue to lift their fists of anger and hatred to Him Who sits on the throne.

How ironic. They deny Him in every step of their being, and yet demonstrate their despite of the very Creator when something goes terribly wrong in their life, and those around them. Rather than call on the Name of the Lord, Who alone is salvation, they choose to continue down their path of destruction, heading further into the pit of darkness.
This need not be so.

All through Scripture we read where saints of old had to cry out to the Lord, desperate for Him to respond. David on the run from Saul; Job in the middle of his not-so-helpful friends; Paul while being stoned by the religious. Each were to experience those times of desperation, where no human answer was readily available to change the situation they had been brought to.

Yes, we are brought to situations where we have the choice - to call on the Lord and His salvation, or continue to deny His very presence, and reap the consequences that are promised to follow.

The Bible, that book which has remained accurately constant since the days it was put down on stone and paper, is our only hope. For anyone who seeks an answer, needs the truth, and is willing to repent of their own ways, it is THE ANSWER for all who will. For all who will call on the Name of the Lord.

“…that if you confess with your mouth Jesus as Lord, and believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead, you will be saved; for with the heart a person believes, resulting in righteousness, and with the mouth he confesses, resulting in salvation.

For the Scripture says, "WHOEVER BELIEVES IN HIM WILL NOT BE DISAPPOINTED." For there is no distinction between Jew and Greek; for the same Lord is Lord of all, abounding in riches for all who call on Him; for "WHOEVER WILL CALL ON THE NAME OF THE LORD WILL BE SAVED." (Romans 10:9-13, NASU)

If you are reading this, I hope you have already trusted in the Lord Jesus, Yeshua HaMashiach, to deliver you from your sin and haughty ways. You thus know now that He who delivered you in the beginning will continue to deliver you to the end. He is faithful. He never changes.

For those who have yet to come to the realization point, where nothing else can or has changed your life, having tried all else, this is now the time where you need to make that decision, to call upon the name of the Lord Jesus, Savior of the World, and rest in His assurance that no matter what comes your way, He will be there to save you through it. He happened for those saints of old – He will happen for us too.

“Thus says the Lord, the Redeemer of Israel, their Holy One, to Him whom man despises, to Him whom the nation abhors,  to the Servant of rulers: "Kings shall see and arise, Princes also shall worship, because of the Lord who is faithful, the Holy One of Israel; and He has chosen You."
(Isaiah 49:7, NKJV)

The One whom the nations abhor, the Redeemer of Israel and those who come to Him, is the faithful One, the Solid Rock on which to stand.

As we see and hear of many in desperate situations, now is the time to stand on the solid rock of His Word, and see Him once again save His people in their time of need. May we also do our part in being His, the Body of Christ, His arm of hope and salvation, and show Him as the answer to those who need Him even more so now.

For those yet to come to the Messiah, the Lion and the Lamb of God, who has already come once and is soon coming again, my prayer is that you will know firmly in your heart that He will come and save you, for no other god or human can do as He alone can and will do for you.

Jesus, Jesus, Jesus. Yeshua, Yeshua, Yeshua. The only Name that saves.

Shalom and ahava (peace and love in Hebrew).

Patricia King: "There's Revival in the Air!" (A Heavenly Prophetic Encounter through Patricia King)

THE ELIJAH LIST Feb 4, 2016

Steve ShultzFrom the desk of Steve Shultz:
We've been hearing reports of revivals breaking out and people getting healed and experiencing God's presence and power in great measure...and it's just the beginning.
This is a most profound and I mean PROFOUND encounter that Patricia King just experienced days ago. Patricia is such a gift to the Body of Christ and is one I highly regard and respect.
In her encounter Patricia was given insight about the right KEY to open the door before her...a door to Revival...and I'll let you read that for yourself!
Yes, God is revealing Kingdom mysteries as Patricia shares this word from the Lord:
I will show you things that you know not. I will reveal Kingdom mysteries to you in this season. I will demonstrate My power and there will be a great harvest as the river of revival goes to the nations. Partner with Me for I desire to pour out My Spirit in a new wave upon the earth in this hour.
Be blessed, get ready to receive ALL that the Lord has for you. Please forward on this important message from Patricia King and let others know they can subscribe to the Elijah List right here: http://elijahlist.com/subscribe.

On January 31 at 5:55 a.m. during a time of prayer, devotion, and preparation for our Shiloh service, where I was going to share my Sunday morning message titled "There's Revival in the Air", I had a heavenly encounter. Here is the account:
The Golden Ladder
(Genesis 28:10-17)
I was on a moving golden ladder/stairway ascending into Heaven. The Lord's voice spoke: "I am taking you to new levels." (This was interesting to me because I had just finished teaching a two-day mentoring seminar called "New Levels of Intercession".)
I arrived in the heavenly dimension and felt "weightless" – very light and without burden. The Lord's voice spoke: "I will show you things that you know not."
Waiting in the Corridor
Immediately, I was in a corridor in front of a door. Although the corridor had a degree of glory in its atmosphere, the sign on the door said, "REVIVAL" and produced an unquenchable passion in me to enter. An angel stood outside the door guarding the room. Some were approaching the door but could not enter because they did not have the right key.
(Photo via Geograph)
I saw one approach with a key called HOPE. The angel smiled and said, "This key will not give you entrance into the room but you can wait here in the corridor outside the room. Stay close to the door."
Another came with a key called DESPERATION. Again, the angel said, "This will not permit you to enter." Yet another came with a key called EXPECTATION. The angel communicated, "You are very close. Remain here at my side."
The Key that Opened the Door
Many others came with various keys but none of them were able to open the door. The corridor was full of people waiting and longing to enter the room. One approached the angel showing the key called FAITH-FILLED PRAYERS. The angel's face lit up and proclaimed, "This is the key that will open the door" ...And the door opened.
The room was full of light, glory, beauty, and the essence of a holy fire. The atmosphere was pure love and holiness...joy. Everyone who had previously stood waiting in the corridor were now immersed in the glory of the room calledREVIVAL.
The River
The glory was not contained in the room. I saw a river of revival flow from the room flooding the corridor and moving rapidly into the earth. Individuals who had no keys in their hands previously, were being swept into the current of the river. Some were elated and others were shocked and in wonderment.
Others were standing on the banks of the river angry and offended, attempting to stop the river. Some of the resistant ones however were swept into the river and carried by its current as their anger and offense was dissolved in the river.

The river was unstoppable.

The room was full of people and the power in the room was so weighty...it was the power of love, purity...it was fire and it was glory...it was rain and it was light. It was everything! SO intense was the atmosphere.
Those in the room were experiencing a weight of great glory and those outside the room were being powerfully impacted by the river that flowed from the room. I then saw the river break off into tributaries...many tributaries. The river was filling the earth!
The Corridor of Revivals
The Lord then walked me through what was called THE CORRIDOR OF REVIVALS. On the walls were large, framed photos of past revivals and each photo was like a door you could enter and explore. Some of the ones I saw were The Moravian RevivalFirst and Second Great AwakeningsMaria Woodworth-Etter RevivalsWelsh RevivalAzusa StreetAimee Semple McPherson RevivalsKathryn Khulman, the Toronto outpouring and many more.
I then saw Him hanging another framed photo on the wall of this corridor...a New Revival. –End of encounter.

Prophetic Word
The Lord says, "I have prepared a revival for you, an outpouring of My Spirit that will be filled with My glory, My fire, My love. Birth this outpouring with the key of FAITH-FILLED PRAYERS. When you see the first signs, continue to pray and continue to birth.

Do not simply remain in the corridor that has a measure of glory but press through with passionate faith-filled prayer and enter the room called REVIVAL.
"I will show you things that you know not. I will reveal Kingdom mysteries to you in this season. I will demonstrate My power and there will be a great harvest as the river of revival goes to the nations. Partner with Me for I desire to pour out My Spirit in a new wave upon the earth in this hour.
"The keys of HOPE, DESPERATION, and EXCPECTATION are important keys that will position you in the corridor but it is the key of FAITH-FILLED PRAYERS that will open the door to the fullness of what I have for you...for all."
Key Scriptures that were quickened to me after the encounter:
Ezekiel 47:1-5, 9-10, 12 NASB:

(1) Then he brought me back to the door of the house; and behold, water was flowing from under the threshold of the house toward the east, for the house faced east. And the water was flowing down from under, from the right side of the house, from south of the altar.

(2) He brought me out by way of the north gate and led me around on the outside to the outer gate by way of the gate that faces east. And behold, water was trickling from the south side.

(3) When the man went out toward the east with a line in his hand, he measured a thousand cubits, and he led me through the water, water reaching the ankles. Again he measured a thousand and led me through the water, water reaching the knees.

(4)Again he measured a thousand and led me through the water, water reaching the loins.

(5) Again he measured a thousand; and it was a river that I could not ford, for the water had risen, enough water to swim in, a river that could not be forded.

(9)"It will come about that every living creature which swarms in every place where the river goes, will live. And there will be very many fish, for these waters go there and the others become fresh; so everything will live where the river goes.

(10)"And it will come about that fishermen will stand beside it; from Engedi to Eneglaim there will be a place for the spreading of nets. Their fish will be according to their kinds, like the fish of the Great Sea, very many.

(12) "By the river on its bank, on one side and on the other, will grow all kinds of trees for food. Their leaves will not wither and their fruit will not fail. They will bear every month because their water flows from the sanctuary, and their fruit will be for food and their leaves for healing."
Revelation 22:1-2 NASB:
(1) Then he showed me a river of the water of life, clear as crystal, coming from the throne of God and of the Lamb,

(2) in the middle of its street. On either side of the river was the tree of life, bearing twelve kinds of fruit, yielding its fruit every month; and the leaves of the tree were for the healing of the nations.
1 Kings 18:41-46 NASB:
(41) Now Elijah said to Ahab, "Go up, eat and drink; for there is the sound of the roar of a heavy shower."

(42) So Ahab went up to eat and drink. But Elijah went up to the top of Carmel; and he crouched down on the earth and put his face between his knees.

(43) He said to his servant, "Go up now, look toward the sea." So he went up and looked and said, "There is nothing." And he said, "Go back" seven times.

(44) It came about at the seventh time, that he said, "Behold, a cloud as small as a man's hand is coming up from the sea." And he said, "Go up, say to Ahab, 'Prepare your chariot and go down, so that the heavy shower does not stop you.'"

(45) In a little while the sky grew black with clouds and wind, and there was a heavy shower. And Ahab rode and went to Jezreel.

(46) Then the hand of the LORD was on Elijah, and he girded up his loins and outran Ahab to Jezreel.
James 5:17-18 NASB:
(17) Elijah was a man with a nature like ours, and he prayed earnestly that it would not rain, and it did not rain on the earth for three years and six months.
(18) Then he prayed again, and the sky poured rain and the earth produced its fruit.
Revelation 4:1 NASB:
(1) After these things I looked, and behold, a door standing open in Heaven, and the first voice which I had heard, like the sound of a trumpet speaking with me, said, "Come up here, and I will show you what must take place after these things."

The Spiritual Famine Has Come to an End by Elaine Tavolacci

The Spiritual Famine Has Come to an End

by Elaine Tavolacci

Identity Network
The Holy Spirit showed me something interesting this week to share with you. Famines are mentioned several times throughout the bible, especially in the Old Testament. During a famine, people will eat anything that is available to them. In 2 Kings 6:25 the people were so famished that they ate donkey heads and doves dung. In verse 29 they even boiled a child and ate it.

In the book of Amos chapter 8:11-12, God pronounced a judgment on the land by saying that there was coming a famine in the land, not a famine of bread or a thirst for water but a famine of hearing the voice of the Lord. Many people today don't realize that this spiritual famine was for a season. We are no longer under the law of judgment, but we have entered a new covenant with Jesus and He now says, "My sheep hear My voice."

There is a great hunger and desperation in the church today. Christians have been searching for a word from the Lord any place that they could receive one. Many are so hungry to hear a personal word for their lives, families and ministries, but they don't recognize the fact that the Holy Spirit wants to speak to them personally. They don't realize that the famine is over and that the Lord is speaking to those who have ears to hear.

Align with Him and Be Sensitive to His Voice

The Lord is calling you to stay in alignment and spend time with Him so that you will be more sensitive to His voice. He will make His voice known to you. There is no longer a famine from hearing the voice of the Lord, but all you need to do is simply tune your hearing to His prompting. As many of you have been feeling spiritually impoverished, read His word. His word is your daily bread, His word is His voice and His word carries life.

Be careful what you are feeding yourself with, as some things release darkness into your life. Your eye is the lamp of your body. If your eye is good, your whole body will be full of light, but if your eye is bad, your whole body will be full of darkness. If then the light in you is darkness, how great is the darkness. This will hinder you from hearing His voice. His voice is intuitive and not always logical to the natural mind, but The Lord is faithful and His promises are true.

Isaiah 30:21 Your ears shall hear a word behind you, saying, "This is the way, walk in it," Whenever you turn to the right hand or whenever you turn to the left.

John 7:17 If anyone wills to do His will, he shall know concerning the doctrine, whether it is from God or whether I speak on My own authority.

John 10:27 My sheep hear My voice, and I know them, and they follow Me.

John 16:13-15 However, when He, the Spirit of truth, has come, He will guide you into all truth; for He will not speak on His own authority, but whatever He hears He will speak; and He will tell you things to come. He will glorify Me, for He will take of what is Mine and declare it to you. All things that the Father has are Mine. Therefore I said that He will take of Mine and declare it to you.

What Will It Finally Take to Make America Truly Desperate? - JENNIFER LECLAIRE

What Will It Finally Take to Make America Truly Desperate?

Desperation

Watchman on the Wall, by Jennifer LeClaire
In the midst of writing a book on revival, I experienced a new kind of spiritual attack. As I put pen to paper about a Great Awakening, reformation and transformation in our nation, the enemy subtly worked to bring what I can only describe as "dryness" to my soul.
To combat this spiritual attack, I entered into worship in a deep way. I had an awareness of my need for God and set out to drink from His fountain until I no longer felt dry but could instead sense rivers of living water flowing from my spirit.
At first my mind would not become still. I was thinking about a conversation I had with David Ravenhill recently. During our talk, we discussed how America is not yet desperate enough—not yet hungry enough—for a true revival unto another Great Awakening. That reality disturbed my heart, so I asked the Lord to start with me—to show me how the enemy is wreaking havoc on the souls of this generation and to put that desperation in my spirit.
Immediately, I saw pictures of famine, horrific violence in the Middle East and people dying from disease. Next, I looked up and saw a principality hanging over a large city from the second heaven. That principality was in the appearance of a dark cloud. From it came a voice that was commanding demons to execute a wicked agenda that included more famine, violence, immorality and the like.
Wrestling From a Compromised Position
Above that principality, I saw the throne of God. Jesus is seated at the right hand of the Father in heavenly places, far above all principalities, powers, might and dominion, as well as every name that is named—not only in this age but also in that which is to come (see Eph. 1:20-21). As born-again believers, we are raised up with Christ and seated together in heavenly places in Christ Jesus (see Eph. 2:6).
This is our legal position. Yet I saw clearly during this encounter that we are not wrestling principalities and powers, rulers of the darkness of this age and spiritual hosts of wickedness from this legal position. Indeed, part of the church is literally wrestling against flesh and blood, which is breeding strife—even in the church. The church cannot agree on issues like gay marriage, for example, and we know where strife is, there is confusion and even evil work (see James 3:16).
Another part of the church is engaging in spiritual immorality, as pastor after pastor falls into moral failure even while preaching against it. Part of the church is experiencing a Word famine, in large part because many are not students of the Word. Instead, many depend on man to spoon feed them a biblical motivational message on Sunday mornings, do their praying for them and solve all their problems. Many are wrestling from a compromised position.
What's It Going to Take?
Make no mistake. The war that was raging in the heavens has, at least in some measure, manifested in the natural realm. The only way we can turn this around is to get desperate enough in our own hearts to see the salvation of the souls the enemy has taken captive—in the world and in the church—and enter intercession from a place of victory, recognizing we are seated in heavenly places with Christ Jesus. I hope it doesn't have to get much worse in America to make us desperate, but I am concerned it will.
Even still, desperation alone is not enough. True desperation demands something from us.  As a church, we must deny ourselves, pick up our cross and follow Christ (see Luke 9:23). We must die to ourselves daily (see 1 Cor. 15:31). We must crucify our flesh and the lusts thereof (see Gal. 5:24). We must stand for the truth even in the face of persecution. Famine is rising, horrific violence in the Middle East is spilling over into our nation. Souls are dying and going to hell every day while we play patty cake in church and argue over who gets to lead prayer.
I pray that the Lord will stir a desperation in your heart to pray—to pray even while no one is watching—and I continue to seek the Lord to stir my heart with a desperation that will drive me to put away anything that gets in the way of my pursuing His perfect will for my life. If we all just did what the Holy Spirit told us to do, we could turn this nation around. We could see a Third Great Awakening that ushers in salvation and reformation unto transformation in the name of Jesus.
