Apple's Wailing Wall is in Palestine. (Oh Really???)
Apple's Wailing Wall is in Palestine
Tuesday, December 10, 2013 | David Lazarus, ISRAEL TODAY
Apple is often first in breaking new ground with the latest hi-tech gadgets. Now the company has introduced yet another brand new notion: Jerusalem’s Wailing Wall (known as the Kotel) is in "Palestine."
The company that brought us the innovative iPhone now offers the solution to the Israeli-Palestinian conflict, while the rest of the world, led by the Americans, still try to broker a shaky final status.
Don’t believe it? Just come visit the Kotel in Jerusalem. Pull out your iPhone 5, and take a few pictures of the Wall. Before you can say "Siri," wonder of wonders, a description of the most famous site in all of Judaism will automatically pop up on your high-definition screen showing you the location of the Wailing Wall: The West Bank, East Jerusalem.
That’s right folks, with just one swipe of your screen, the almighty Apple has divided the city of Jerusalem, putting the holiest place in the world for all Jewish people in the Palestinian Territories.
For those iPhone fans who think that this is just another infamous Apple Maps' bug, be informed. In earlier versions of their trendy device, Apple's weather app gave separate forecasts for West and East Jerusalem, even though Israel unified the city 46 years ago after the Six-Day War! Only after extensive and ongoing pressure by Israel’s ambassador to the US did the digital giant change the app’s map status to identify Jerusalem as one city.
“It is a shame that a commercial enterprise feels that it needs to be more pro-Palestinian than the Palestinians themselves,” said Deputy Foreign Minister Zeev Elkin. “But what matters is the reality on the ground, not in the virtual world.”
Rabbi Shmuel Rabinovitz, the overseer of the Wailing Wall, had this to say in response: “We don’t need anyone’s endorsement or stamp of approval. The Wailing Wall is a part of who we are.”
If the company is getting involved in politics to help sell their "Apples" to young left-wing liberals, beware. A long time ago in a garden, a young, innocent couple took that appealing apple, only to be deceived, when all hell broke loose.

Israeli start-up to turn down $1 billion acquisition by Facebook
Report: Israeli start-up to turn down $1 billion acquisition by Facebook
Thursday, May 30, 2013 | Israel Today Staff
Israeli start-up Waze, which provides a real-time navigation and traffic report app for smartphones, is reportedly set to turn down a $1 billion dollar acquisition bid by Facebook in order to keep its team in Israel.
With the improved GPS capabilities of newer smartphones like the iPhone and various Android handsets, Waze has seen a huge increase in usage in recent years, and today has an estimated user base of 48 million worldwide.
Waze competes directly with the "Maps" applications provided by Google and Apple, at least when it comes to traffic and road navigation. Most users say that in these situations, Waze manages to far outdo both of the technology giants.
That's what makes Waze a natural acquisition for Facebook, which competes with both Google and Apple on many fronts, but has yet to jump into the GPS-based navigation game.
But, according to American technology website "AllThingsD," talks between the two companies are breaking down. Despite a massive potential payday for the Israeli start-up, the Waze team has reportedly made keeping the bulk of their operations in Israel a red line, while Facebook is presumably insisting that Waze move to its headquarters in California.
Accurate or not, this news is being met with a fair amount of national pride in Israel, where innovative start-ups spring up all the time, but almost always accept a foreign buy-out when it is offered.

Ahava Love Letter (#53) - "We Speak To Nations"
“We Speak
To Nations”
“So I give
thanks to you, Adonai, among the nations;
sing praises
to Your name.” (2 Sam 22:50 CJB
Complete Jewish Bible)

Dear family of
friends,
When my good wife Laurie and I went to China in 2002, we were representing
Derek Prince Ministries, along with a small USA group smuggling in Chinese
Bibles and Derek's teaching books. These particular treasured nuggets had been
translated into Mandarin Chinese. In my personal carry-on I had also brought
along the latest Integrity
Music's CD of the Month.
The disc had just come in the mail a few days before we left on this adventurous journey, so I was as excited as ever to hear this new one. It had become the newest edition in my 14 year long subscription collection of Integrity's Hosanna! Music. (Thank you Michael Coleman for your leadership at Integrity!)
That specific praise and worship CD, then rotating in my portable player, was Lakewood's "We Speak To Nations". (IPods had just come out the year before. Steve Jobs' latest Apple big tech craving was a bit above my budget.) The title song was also "We Speak To Nations."

As I sat on the 22 hour train ride from Guangzhou to Beijing, I played
this song over and over again. The repeat button just stay on. And during that literal
full day stretch of time, the Holy Spirit (Ruach HaKodesh) made sure the sound
and words would sink deep into my spirit. I am grateful He did.
During those long hours on the tracks (both train and CD - pun intended) I literally had tears running down my face, while I sat listening with ear buds on. I didn’t want to awaken the others as they slept.

The sound of the nations was calling out to my heart.
We can speak to nations in many ways. These days it is primarily
through social media. But even still, a main format can still be by
singing, in person.
As worship leaders who love Jesus (Yeshua), and thus the nations, my wife and I are committed to sing in and to the nations. Our hearts and eyes are especially lazar focused on Israel, whom we especially love.
And...Lord willing too, we plan on taking the Ahava Love Band with us to Jerusalem in 2014 - to do just that – sing His praise and worship in Eretz Yisrael (Land of Israel)!

addition, as we speak to nations.

Apple reportedly looking to buy Israeli map app Waze
Apple reportedly looking to buy Israeli map app Waze
iPhone maker may see local startup as solution to mapping woes; company wants $750 million, but Apple offering $400-$500 million, according to reports
By Michal Shmulovich January 3, 2013
Times of Israel
Apple is rumored to be looking into buying the Israeli satellite navigation application Waze, which has become a worldwide hit thanks to its melding of crowd sourcing and traffic mapping.
A possible offer stands at about $400-$500 million, industry insiders speculated — but the successful startup, which offers maps, driving directions and real-time traffic reports to mobile users, is estimated to be worth closer to $1 billion, according to the Calcalist financial newspaper.
US-based tech blog TechCrunch reported that Waze is seeking $750 million, and negotiations could take time.
Waze, founded in 2009, uses satellite signals and reports of members to generate maps and real-time traffic data that it then offers to smartphone users around the world.
Waze’s image data improves as more users — the number now hovers around 30 million, according to the firm — join the network. The app displays users’ information anonymously (unless they choose to identify themselves), and suggests quicker, alternative routes to drivers, as well as warning of potential hazards like traffic accidents and police activity.
Neither company has confirmed the reports of a takeover.
Waze has raised a total of $67 million so far from a series of investors. Its revenues in 2012 were $1 million, mostly from location-based ads, which integrate mobile advertising and the ability to pinpoint consumers.
Waze also caught the eye of other technology giants, like Facebook, which was reportedly considering acquiring the app.
In September, Apple dropped its contract with Google, which had previously supplied the data for the iPhone’s own map app. However, customers complained about Apple’s proprietary map software, claiming it was an inferior version of Google’s, causing Google Maps to be reinstated as a downloadable, external app in December. Within 48 hours of its release as a free app in December, Google Maps for iPhone was downloaded over 10 million times, according to The Telegraph.
According to YNet News, Waze said there was a spike in the download of its app after Apple CEO Tim Cook, in an unusual move after the launch of iPhone 5, suggested that customers download rival mapping services, like Waze, until Apple had a chance to improve its own maps.
