Ski the Snow-Capped Hermon ✡ "The Hermons From the Hill Mizar" - JERUSALEM365

O my God, my soul is cast down within me; therefore do I remember You from the land of Jordan, and theHermons, from the hill Mizar

PSALMS (42:7)

e-lo-hai a-lai naf-shee tish-to-khakh al kayn ez-kor-kha may-e-retz yar-dayn v'-kher-mo-neem may-har mitz-ar

Jerusalem Inspiration

The Psalmist describes a young man living in the northern region of the Land of Israel longing for Jerusalem, his soul thirsting for closeness to God. Where does he find his inspiration otherwise? Mount Hermon. Soaring over 2800 meters above sea level, this mountain range is covered in snow for most of the year, and the runoff of melting snow is the major source of freshwater for the Jordan River which flows into the Sea of Galilee.  Yet despite the awe-inspiring vistas, the psalmist still seeks spiritual inspiration 200 kilometers southward, from a small hill upon which stands the Temple and from there the word of God emanates to the entire world.  Draw YOUR inspiration from the wonder of Jerusalem with this fantastic Jerusalem night sky necklace, made of fine sterling silver with a genuine fragment of ancient Roman glass. It's sure to keep you longing for Jerusalem.

What does the mostly warm climated holy land look like blanketed in snow? Find out with this amazing footage from the snowy Hermon mountain.

Keeping the Commandments in Outer Space

Can one blow the shofar in the silent vacuum of outer-space? Perhaps the low-key nature of Israel's space program could be due to the difficulties space travel poses for Jews.

"Jerusalem Beckons" Painting

There is something about Jerusalem that calls out to people of all ages, religions and cultures. It’s a city with a living history, and a story behind every door. "Jerusalem Beckons" is a beautiful painting which encapsulates the personal and yet mysterious quality of the homes that make up this ancient hub of the world. Straight from Jordana Klein's studio in the Old City of Jerusalem, the painting depicts a dozen Jerusalem doorways and windows welcoming people to the city.

The Zionist Dream Fulfilled ✡ Take Pleasure in Her Stones - JERUSALEM365

For Your servants take pleasure in her stones,
and love her dust.

PSALMS (102:14)

כִּי רָצוּ עֲבָדֶיךָ אֶת אֲבָנֶיהָ וְאֶת עֲפָרָהּ יְחֹנֵנוּ

תהילים קב:טו

Kee ra-tzu a-va-de-kha et a-va-ne-ha v'-et a-fa-rah y'-kho-nay-nu

Shabbat Inspiration

While the Bible is full of God’s promise to redeem the Jewish people, many have asked what the Jewish people have done to deserve His redemption. This verse implies that the redemption will begin through their commitment to the Land of Israel and the stones of Jerusalem. Even if the Jewish people demonstrate an insufficient commitment to the laws of religious observance, as long as they love the “dust and stones” of Israel, it will be considered sufficient by God to allow for the redemption. Many of the early twentieth-century Zionists may not have been religiously observant, but nevertheless, it was their love of the Land which paved the way for the beginning of the flowering of the redemption.

Nov. 29, 1947:
A Vote that Changed the World

On November 29, 1947, the UN voted to end the British Mandate in the Holy Land. A vote that lasted a mere 3 minutes changed the course of history and brought 2000 years of Jewish exile to an end.

From Slave Mentality to
Free Warriors

The transformation from a nation of slaves who are miraculously rescued from the Egyptian army, to a nation of fighters who can stand up to Amalek is amazing, and it is the parting of the Red Sea which actually sets the stage for the transformation.

Patterns of Evidence: The Exodus DVD

Right in time for the Sabbath Torah portion, Patterns of Evidence: The Exodus by Timothy Mahony, is a video examining a plethora of information gathered during twelve years of research and travel, in an attempt to unlock and reveal evidence of one of the most well-known stories within biblical history, The Exodus of the Jews from Egypt. Literary, archaeological and historical records were examined to determine whether or not the famous story of the Exodus of Israelites from the land of Egypt is fact or fiction.

Why Israelis are Happiest ✡ "Shout For Joy" - JERUSALEM365

And let all who take refuge in You rejoice; may they forever shout for joy, and You shall shelter them, and let all who love Your name exult in You.

PSALMS (5:12)

v'-yis-m'-khu khol kho-say vakh l'-o-lam y'-ra-nay-nu v'-ta-saykh a-lay-mo
v'-ya-l'-tzu v'-kha o-ha-vay sh'-me-kha

Jerusalem Inspiration

Despite all the threats surrounding the State of Israel, Israeli citizens consistently rate high in global surveys measuring happiness. The key to that happiness is found in this verse: “all that take refuge in You rejoice.” Israelis have no choice but to rely on the salvation of God, and by placing their trust in the Lord they achieve true happiness.  The city of Ariel lies in the heart of Samaria, an area often frought with terror; relying on God brings the people peace of mind, no less do they take the personal initiative to ensure that their safety is secure. Ariel just inaugurated their very first emergency care center to ensure safe and swift care for those wounded across the Samarian communities.  Financial assistance to broaden the services that they can provide will surely gladden their hearts and assure peace of mind!

16% Off this Fantastic Artistic Scripture Set ✡ "A Time For Every Matter" - JERUSALEM365

Everything has an appointed season, and there is a time for every matter under the heaven.

ECCLESIASTES (3:1)

לַכֹּל זְמָן וְעֵת לְכָל חֵפֶץ תַּחַת הַשָּׁמָיִם

קהלת ג:א

la-kol zman v'-ayt l'-khol khay-fetz ta-khat ha-sha-ma-yeem

Jerusalem Inspiration

Today's profound verse from Ecclesiastes is extremely well known, mainly for its universal message. Ecclesiastes is read on the holiday of Succot as we reap the fall harvest and prepare for the long winter. Many of the 'megillot', a compilation of five scriptures, are read on holidays that mark the changing of the seasons. They relate messages of courage, wisdom and sorrow, and most of all, God's involvement in the course of daily life and the annals of history. Drawing on the vibrant colors and vivid lines of Modernist art, artist Tamar Messer brings the five megillot to life by capturing the enigmatic themes in every holy book of this fantastic set of scriptures.
