Messianic Jew Shares How He Came to Believe in Yeshua

 5/7/2018 Charisma News

Scandal! The Little Drummer Boy was what?💡 - Ron Cantor Messiah's Mandate

Shalom!

Growing up, like many of you, I loved the Christmas specials—even though I was (and am) Jewish. With only 3 channels to choose from, the animated Holiday shows were a real treat. But my favorite of them all was "The Little Drummer Boy". However, it never dawned on me that it was a Jewish story about a Jewish boy.
Aaron, a kippa-wearing Jewish boy allows hate to fill his heart, after his parents are murdered. He only has connection with a lamb, a camel and donkey. Toward the end, Baba the lamb, is struck down by a Roman chariot and is dying. Aaron takes her to one of the Wise Men. But he says he can do nothing; he is merely a human king.
Instead little Aaron approaches the "baby wrapped in cloth and lying in a manger" because "in the town of David a Savior has been born to" him. Having no gift to present the King Messiah, he plays the drum his parents gave him. His lamb is healed in the presence of the Savior and hatred is removed from Aaron's heart.
Yes, the story is about a Jewish boy coming face to face with Jesus, the Jewish Messiah. Who says Jewish people can't believe in Yeshua?
My favorite version of the song
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5l1CS0Jhk90
Our finest gifts we bring
To lay before the King
So to honor Him
When we come
Little baby
I am a poor boy too
I have no gift to bring
That's fit to give our King
Shall I play for you
On my drum

Shalom dear Friends and Prayer Partners,

While in Jerusalem recently, I was waiting for the light rail.  A young Orthodox Jewish man sitting there looked familiar so I began to speak with him.  We spoke with joy to one another - a divine appointment for sure!  Then he handed me a tract of Rabbi Nachman so I asked him, "Is this your Messiah?"  When he replied yes, I said, "He's not Messiah; I believe Yeshua is Messiah."  Suddenly O's face darkened and he said, "But you're Jewish! Why?!"  So I explained why I follow Yeshua.  How can you argue with someone who has had a vision of the Messiah?  He couldn't argue but he was really sad.  I spoke kind words to him and his face brightened up and we spoke more until my train arrived. I entered the train and looked back at him and to my surprise, he stood and waved with joy at me!

The next day before singing at an outreach, I met another young man who's studying in a Yeshiva.  I invited him to the concert and he came!  After a few songs he had to leave, but he approached the stage to get my number and he's already called.  He knows I'm a believer but he loves the music and wants my CD's! Later that night I was thinking why does the L-rd always send either young or older Orthodox Jewish men as divine appointments?  Suddenly I thought of Joel 2:28 and prayed for an increase in dreams and visions!

And that's exactly what happened the next day!  At another event while a rabbi from Judea spoke, I translated in the back for a Muslim who didn't speak English.  Afterwards I told the rabbi that it was funny for me, a Messianic Jew to translate a rabbi's speech for a Muslim.  But when I told him I'm "Meshichit" (Messianic or literally "anointed" in Hebrew) he said we are all Meshichim.  I was surprised but then he added, "You think Messiah already came but we all believe that He is coming soon!"  We were in complete agreement on that!
"It will come about after this that I will pour out My Spirit on all flesh and your sons and daughters will prophecy.  Your old men will dream dreams and your young men will see visions."  Joel 2:28
We wish we could bring that rabbi to the Ministry of Interior!  We still have no news from them but a recent development with a friend who was deported was rather sobering.  Before Rebecca left Israel, I invited her over to pray for her.  I mentioned that when the haredim, ultra-Orthodox Jews, were given the choice to release Yeshua or Barabas, they pointed at Yeshua and yelled, "Crucify Him and let His blood be on our heads and on our children's heads!"  Of course we pray this prayer as a blessing but at that time they meant it as a curse.  Wow - that explains our Jewish identity problems!

In Matthew 23 Yeshua is speaking to the Jewish People, in particular, the Pharasees, which are comparable to the modern day haredim who carry the same spirit as the Pharasees that lived during Yeshua's time.  He told them that they won't see him until they're able to say, "Baruch Haba b'Shem Adonai!" - Blessed are you who comes in the name of the L-rd.  But who's praying that they will come to this revelation?  There are many of you who are praying for them and thank you!  But it was really brought home to us that we, the persecuted ones, are especially called to pray for them.  So that's what we did and G-d showed up!
Travel plans, G-d willing of course
We benefited greatly from the discipleship equipping seminars we took this past fall.  We're sharing what we learned with many, even pre-believers in Yeshua and it's blessing them too, so we plan to return for another seminar this February in Illinois. We're praying about ministering in the area too...
Also, the L-rd gave a supernatural release to go to Australia in 2018 so we are praying for His timing...

We write L-rd and G-d in this way because it's a Jewish custom that Carolyn grew up with and it's done only out of reverence and honor for the name of the L-rd.  Thanks for understanding.

Love Music! (Love For His People) - V'Ahavata - music video - Marty Goetz (Hebrew.English with lyrics)

About Marty Goetz

Marty Goetz has been called a modern day psalmist. His songs are scriptures beautifully set to music, leaving listeners spiritually moved, inspired and educated. With melodic and fresh acoustical/classic arrangements, Marty Goetz has the ability to lead you into a place of true intimacy with God.

In 1965, when thirteen year-old MARTY GOETZ stood at the bimah of Cleveland's Temple on the Heights for his Bar-mitzvah and solemnly sang the ancient words of the Torah, no one -- least of all Marty -- could have envisioned that some twenty years later he would be singing to God, this time as a featured performer at Billy Graham's Rally in Central Park.

As half of 'Bert & Marty', he sang at clubs and dinner theaters around Pittsburgh while studying English at Carnegie Mellon University. There was even a non-singing guest appearance on 'Mister Rogers' as Smokey Bear.

After graduation, he and Bert set out for New York City, determined, as Marty remembers, 'to give it two weeks to become a star or I'd go back to Cleveland and the family furniture business.' Just one week later, Marty and Bert found themselves performing at hotels in the Catskill Mountains. At the end of the summer they were named 'Best New Act of 1974'.

Then Bert found Jesus. Horrified at his partner's born again experience, Marty broke up the act and returned to New York City. He worked steadily as a songwriter and cabaret entertainer until 1978, when he shifted his ambitions from Broadway to Pop and moved to Los Angeles.

Provoked by the increasing numbers of born-agains in his life, he began reading the Bible, 'looking for loopholes'. A few short weeks later, sitting alone one night on a friend's balcony, looking down on the lights of Sunset Boulevard, he realized with certainty that 'the Jesus of the New Testament was the Messiah my people have been longing for'.

Within a year, Marty began performing with Debby Boone and soon began to establish himself as a strong and passionate voice for Messianic believers within the church.

He has ministered before congregations as diverse as Jack Hayford's Church on the Way, Greg Laurie's Harvest Christian Fellowship and Harvest Crusades, Coral Gables Presbyterian, Chicago's Moody Church, David Wilkerson's Times Square Church. Ministries such as Focus on the Family, Insight For Living, TBN, Promise Keepers, Billy Graham Training Center/The Cove and CBN have invited Marty to come and share his musical gifts and talents.

Marty has been recording music steadily since 1985, and today lives outside of Nashville, Tennessee with his wife Jennifer. They recently celebrated the marriage of their one and only daughter, Misha Goetz to Joshua Hoyt. A wonderful young man!

The Role of the Messianic Remnant in Apostolic Ministry - ASHER INTRATER CHARISMA NEWS

The Role of the Messianic Remnant in Apostolic Ministry

ASHER INTRATER  CHARISMA NEWS

Standing With Israel
The Messianic Jewish remnant in Israel today is a partial restoration of the first-century community of disciples, including the emergence of apostolic-prophetic ministry teams within that remnant. Although it is still in its "baby" stages, we believe that the Messianic remnant in Israel will have a certain role to play in the fulfillment of end times' prophecy.
In Acts 1, the disciples received the promise of the outpouring of the Holy Spirit. In Acts 2 on Pentecost (Shavuot) morning, they were filled with the power of the Holy Spirit. Between the promise and the outpouring, the disciples gave themselves to fervent, united prayer, which led to revival. Yet there was another element between the prayer and the outpouring: the appointment of the 12th apostle.
At first glance, that appointment doesn't seem significant. However, the restoration of the 12th apostle was important in order to preserve the covenant pattern of the 12 tribes of Israel. It had symbolic significance like the 12 stones of Elijah's altar (1 Kings 18:31) and the 12 stones of Joshua's memorial (Josh. 4:2-3). In God's plan, the "new" is always faithful to the "old"—to the prophecies and patterns established under previous covenants.
The re-appointment of the 12th apostle can be seen as symbolic of the restoration of the apostolic-prophetic Messianic remnant in Israel today. At the same time, through the house of prayer movement, God is raising up a worldwide network of united prayer. The parallel emergence of a united international prayer network and a Messianic remnant in Israel are like end times' puzzle pieces coming into place, and a sign that we are moving toward a historic end-times revival.
The promise of world revival in Acts 2:17 is a quote from the prophet Joel (Joel 2:28-3:1). This text seems to be a prophetic hint that in the generation of those who survived the Holocaust, God would restore the nation of Israel and the city of Jerusalem. Then God would call unto salvation a remnant of faith among the Jews in Israel. When this remnant is in place, the conditions will be set for the end-times prophecies to come to pass. These include both the negative prophecies of world disasters and the positive prophecies of world revival.
In Acts 15, the historic apostolic council took place in Jerusalem to discuss the development of the Gentile churches. They made a gracious, strategic decision to encourage the international churches to grow without having to keep certain Torah commandments which were so important to Jewish identity (circumcision, foods, feasts and so on). These instructions were sent around the world, and the result was that the churches began to grow and multiply (Acts 16:4-5).
Gentile churches do not need to submit in the same way to Messianic leaders from Israel today. However, as we move more into the end times, there will be vital, strategic impartation for the international church coming out of the body in Israel. I believe that the alignment of love and humility between the international church and the Messianic remnant in Israel will re-establish a covenant pattern of kingdom authority that will prepare both Israel and the church for the Second Coming of Yeshua and the establishment of His kingdom on Earth.
Unfortunately, many of us in the Messianic movement have spread teachings that were unbalanced and unedifying. We ask forgiveness for our errors and trust God to heal and bring the blessing He promised. One blessing that should come out of the relationship between the Messianic remnant and the international Church is unity. As there is unity in the Spirit through prayer as described in John 17, so is there unity through being grafted into the same historic root as described in Romans 11. This unity is also described as "one new man" in Ephesians 2-3.
