Middle East relations - with a big twist! - ONE FOR ISRAEL

Dr Erez Soref President of  ONE FOR ISRAEL
Shalom!

I have family members who came to Israel from Iraq, and some of our staff have ancestors who fled Iran, Morocco, and other nations of the Middle East. November 29th marked 70 years since the UN Partition Plan of 1947, paving the way for the rebirth of Israel, and on 30th November, we commemorated the expulsion of 850,000 Jewish people from Muslim lands. We see God's hand in restoring Israel, and also bringing his people back to Israel from the north, south, east and west.

So it is wonderful that now we are in the privileged position of being able to bless those same countries around us with the powerful message of the gospel!

We are very excited about our new project: a series of testimony videos of those who used to hate Israel... but came to know the Jewish Messiah, and now love His people! We are very much looking forward to sharing them with you soon. Please pray for God's hand to be on this project, and for many to be saved by the messages of these brave believers.

Half Of Israel's Jews Came From Muslim Countries

It's a story that many never get to hear about, but now each year, on 30th November, Israel has determined to commemorate the time when 850,000 Jewish people were expelled from Muslim lands, most of whom found refuge in Israel. Not long after Yeshua died and rose again, the Jewish people were scattered far and wide - north, south, east and west of Israel, just as God promised. Where they went and what happened next is a bit of a mystery to many. But it doesn't have to be - their steps have been well documented. Continue reading...

Events In Jerusalem, 1917, As Foretold In The Bible

Jerusalem, December 1917. The atmosphere was electric as General Allenby dismounted his horse in humility, removed his hat in reverence, and entered the walls of the Old City through the Jaffa Gate, which hadn't been in use for many years. Iconic footage shows Jewish people welcoming him as if he was some kind of messiah, and the Land was never the same again. As time went on, Britain's involvement would not always be so positive, but the story of how this particular moment came about is one of breathtaking wonder. Continue reading...

An Israeli View on What's Happening in Lebanon - Aviel Schneider ISRAEL TODAY

An Israeli View on What's Happening in Lebanon

Tuesday, November 14, 2017 |  Aviel Schneider  ISRAEL TODAY
The situation in the Middle East shifted dramatically last week. What was truly behind the surprise resignation of Lebanese Prime Minister Saad Hariri? And to what extent is Israel involved in the situation?
Hariri announced his resignation while visiting Saudi Arabia, and hasn't returned to Lebanon since. Hariri quickly shot down rumors that he was being held against his will in Riyadh. "If I want to leave Saudi Arabia, I can," the former prime minister told Lebanon's Future TV. But he declined to state when he might venture forth.
Various reports suggest Hariri was invited to Riyadh, where the Saudis presented him with evidence that his life was in danger. In his resignation speech, Hariri spoke of assassination plots and made serious accusations against Iran and its Lebanese proxy, Hezbollah, both of which are arch-enemies of Saudi Arabia.
"Wherever Iran is, it spreads discord, devastation and destruction, as shown in its interference in the internal affairs of Arab countries," warned Hariri, whose father, former Lebanese Prime Minister Rafiq Hariri was assassinated by Hezbollah 12 years ago.
Saad is a Sunni Muslim, like the majority in Saudi Arabia, where he actually holds dual citizenship. And his sudden resignation has deepened the rift between Riyadh and Beirut, between Sunnis and Shiites. Riyadh blamed the Shiite militia Hezbollah for Hariri's resignation, as well as the undermining of the political system in Lebanon. Iran's Ayatollah Khamenei and Hezbollah leader Hassan Nasrallah shot back that Saudi Arabia is going mad, and will soon declare a war against all Shiites. They claim the Saudis forced Hariri's resignation to facilitate a dangerous escalation between Israel and Hezbollah.
Sources in Israel believe that the Jewish state itself provided Riyadh with the intelligence that ultimately compelled Hariri to resign. Israel has for years been sounding the alarm over Iran's increasing power in Lebanon and neighboring Syria. As tensions grow, Israel has debated taking more severe military action against Hezbollah to curb Iranian influence and the threat to the Jewish state. But, according to Nasrallah, Saudi Arabia is the puppet master inciting war between Israel and Iran's allies.
What Israel and Saudi Arabia have in common is hostility toward Iran. Both countries view Iran's nuclear program as an existential threat that must be stopped at all costs. It increasingly looks as though Israel will be called upon to do the "dirty work" in this regard, just as it has been doing in Lebanon and Syria.
For years, Lebanon, once a Christian jewel in the Middle East, has been politically paralyzed. It is a microcosm of the wider religious power struggle between Shiites and Sunnis that is tearing the region apart. And, just as Israel has repeatedly warned, the conflict is being used as a pretext to establish bases of operation that ultimately threaten the Jewish state.

Shifting Sands in the Middle East: Lebanese PM Resigns
11-08-2017
JERUSALEM, Israel – Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu called the resignation of Lebanon's prime minister "a wake-up call" for the world. Some see it as another sign of Iran's desire to dominate the Middle East.
Netanyahu spoke to the BBC after Lebanese Prime Minister Sa'ad Hariri's surprise resignation over fear of a possible assassination attempt.
"When Israelis and the Arabs, all the Arabs and the Israelis, agree on one thing, people should pay attention," Netanyahu told the BBC. "We should stop this Iranian take over."
Hariri announced his decision in a televised address from Saudi Arabia, a long-time U.S. ally spearheading the Arab world's campaign against Iran.
In the address, Hariri accused Iran of making a regional power grab, saying Iran's powerful Lebanese proxy, Hezbollah, had taken over his country.
"The fact that Hariri said the truth about Iran and Hezbollah is very important," former Israeli national security advisor Maj. Gen. (res.) Ya'akov Amidror said.
Efraim Inbar, president of the Jerusalem Institute for Strategic Studies, said it's "a clear reaction to the encouragement of Iran in the region."
Hezbollah is part of the Lebanese government, but has more than 100,000 rockets pointed at Israel. Thousands of its soldiers also fight for Iran's ally, Syrian President Bashar al-Assad.
Amidror called Hezbollah an "Iranian tool" in the Middle East.
"We have to admit, Lebanon is not a state," he told CBN News. "It's something, a unique creature, which is run by Hezbollah, and Hezbollah is run by Iran so at the end of the day it's an Iranian tool in the Middle East, not just against Israel, but in the Middle East."

Hezbollah leader Sheikh Hassan Nasrallah accused Saudi Arabia of pushing the prime minister to resign.
Hariri met with President Trump earlier this year and mentioned their partnership in fighting ISIS.
Following Hariri's resignation, Saudi Arabia said they had intercepted a ballistic missile fired by Iranian-backed Houthi rebels in Yemen at one of its international airports.
Saudi Arabia responded by launching airstrikes against the rebels and later warned Iran that the latest missile launch could be considered an "act of war."
Hariri has led Lebanon's coalition government for about a year.
"He's a Saudi citizen and he spent many of his years in Saudi Arabia, but he tried at least to work with Hezbollah," Amidror said. "He understood there is no way to work with Hezbollah – either you are completely under their influence or you don't have any right to exist."
Inbar says there's only one way to deal with Iran.
"Probably the only way to stop them is by [the] use of force," he said. "I think the [Lebanese] prime minister probably understands that the West has no intention whatsoever to get involved and maybe what he does is trying to gain legitimacy for Israeli unilateral actions."
Meanwhile, Israeli analysts believe the U.S. and the West probably won't take a stand against Iran and it may be up to Israel to take care of the problem.
