The Psalmist compares God's showering of blessing to the flowing of dew down the Hermon. The Hermon mountain is located at the very tip of the land of Israel, and the mountains of Zion refer to Jerusalem, at the country's center. God's blessing flows from the top of the land downward, as if through gravitational force, so intense and vibrant is God's blessing felt in the Holy Land.
