Salvation. For believers daily. Latest book by Steve Martin

Salvation
- latest book by Steve Martin
November 2017

This book isn't the book on "how to get saved." It is for believers who need encouragement to walk in this unsaved world. This book helps you resist the enemy that comes against you; stand strong when you want to quit; keep on walking when there seems to be no light at the end of the tunnel.

Our world needs saving. We know that. The nations are in much turmoil, rage, anger, and lawlessness. Just keep watching the news and it is obvious that times are changing, and it is not changing for the good. It is happening just as the prophets spoke; just as Jesus (Yeshua) Himself said in Matthew 24 and Luke 21 as to how it would come about.

The signs are all around us, forth-telling those exact events which would take place before the Lamb of God returns as the Lion of the Tribe of Judah. Yeshua HaMashiach, Jesus Christ, is the Messiah of Jews and Gentiles, for all who call upon His name for salvation. All indications are that He is coming back soon. While time is yet with us, and there is light among the growing darkness, we must work with His Holy Spirit to spread the Good News.

This is the news of His salvation, which is available to any and all who come to Him, for freedom from sin, death, destruction and all evil. This salvation is found only in His saving Blood and through His sacrifice on the cross. He is so willing and loving to give His saving grace to all who call upon His Name. He alone is our salvation. His Name is SALVATION.

Yeshua HaMashiach
will return soon.

Isaiah 53, Complete Jewish Bible
1 Who believes our report? To whom is the arm of ADONAI revealed? 2 For before him he grew up like a young plant, like a root out of dry ground. He was not well-formed or especially handsome; we saw him, but his appearance did not attract us. 3 People despised and avoided him, a man of pains, well acquainted with illness. Like someone from whom people turn their faces, he was despised; we did not value him.

4 In fact, it was our diseases he bore, our pains from which he suffered; yet we regarded him as punished, stricken and afflicted by God. 5 But he was wounded because of our crimes, crushed because of our sins; the disciplining that makes us whole fell on him, and by his bruises we are healed. 6 We all, like sheep, went astray; we turned, each one, to his own way; yet ADONAI laid on him the guilt of all of us. Or: and in fellowship with him

7 Though mistreated, he was submissive - he did not open his mouth. Like a lamb led to be slaughtered, like a sheep silent before its shearers, he did not open his mouth. 8 After forcible arrest and sentencing, he was taken away; and none of his generation protested his being cut off from the land of the living for the crimes of my people, who deserved the punishment themselves.

9 He was given a grave among the wicked; in his death he was with a rich man. Although he had done no violence and had said nothing deceptive, 10 yet it pleased ADONAI to crush him with illness, to see if he would present himself as a guilt offering. If he does, he will see his offspring; and he will prolong his days; and at his hand ADONAI's desire will be accomplished.

11 After this ordeal, he will see satisfaction. "By his knowing [pain and sacrifice], my righteous servant makes many righteous; it is for their sins that he suffers. 12 Therefore I will assign him a share with the great, he will divide the spoil with the mighty, for having exposed himself to death and being counted among the sinners, while actually bearing the sin of many and interceding for the offenders."

Christian Archaeologists Search for Biblical Tabernacle at Shiloh - Israel Today

Christian Archaeologists Search for Biblical Tabernacle at Shiloh

Thursday, July 20, 2017 |  Israel Today Staff
At a time when a majority of people in the "Christian" West now reject the veracity of the Bible, believers with a more academic background are increasingly setting out to prove the Scriptures reliable.
One such Christian academic is Dr. Scott Stripling, head of the Associates for Biblical Research and director of a new excavation at Shiloh, where the Bible records the Tabernacle of God was located for 369 years.
Stripling told The Times of Israel: "There are some who say the Bible is unreliable. We have found it to be very reliable. We’re taking the Bible as a serious historical document, but the evidence is what the evidence is."
Stripling and his team of dedicated Christian researchers intend to dig at Shiloh and other sites in Israel for decades to come.
Already, they have uncovered large clay pots that were abandoned, which would hint at the biblical narrative that suggests Shiloh's sudden destruction. I Samuel chapter 4 records Israel's defeat at the hands of the Philistines and the subsequent loss of the Ark of the Covenant. The Prophet Jeremiah (7:12) later indicates that Shiloh itself was sacked following that defeat.

V'ahavta (...and you shall love...") Hadassah from Jerusalem - “Lessons Learned from the Front Lines in Israel”

“Lessons Learned from the Front Lines in Israel”

If you faint in the day of adversity, your strength is small.” Proverbs 24:10

Looking at the world headlines (or on Facebook) we read of so much suffering and disaster and wars. It seems that there is no shortage of sad and depressing news. The timetable to the ‘End’ seems to be pressing in on us at breakneck speed. How, as Believers in Y’shua, do we keep our heads up and maintain some semblance of sanity never mind joy? What are some keys to allowing these situations to strengthen us and not faint?
Having lived in Israel a combined 19 years - through several wars, terror attacks, sirens- surrounded by enemies both inside and outside the borders - the Lord has been strengthening me so as not to ‘faint’. It has been - and still is- a long difficult process. It is made more difficult by my independent attitude in thinking I can ‘handle’ what is going on around me. Rather than run to Him immediately, I would listen to all the news… and opinions about that news… bemoan the state of things, get angry or fearful or ‘super spiritual’ (Oh it’s OK- the Lord is coming soon) wax eloquent in solutions… everything BUT sit still and listen and receive instruction.
Other countries are also going thru their tribulations and trials as we come to the close of this era before the return of our Messiah and King.  Please let me (humbly) share the lessons I have – and am - learning from our front lines here in Israel. May these words encourage you and strengthen you for your own battles. Please share the things you have learned from your ‘front lines’ of battle. Let us embolden one another.

Battling the spiritual warfare
 * Wait on the Lord. The first and most important lesson - the place from which all else springs. Sit in His presence. Renew. Refresh. Let the time be all about Him… not everything going on. He will restore perspective. He will lift your eyes and spirit upwards. He will carry you on eagles wings and renew your strength.
* Carry ONLY what He gives you. DO NOT PRAY THE NEWS! Give a short season to read what’s happening - get educated - and then TURN IT OFF! Read the Word MORE than you read the news! Ask the Lord for Scriptures to pray. There are hundreds and He will show you which ones and how to pray them. The Word is the powerful weapon of our warfare.
* There is only ONE Messiah and it’s not me. I do not need to carry ALL the burdens that I see around me - all the things that are breaking my heart. I need to sit quietly in His presence and wait. Let Him give me HIS burden at the moment that is MINE to carry. It will hurt. It will be difficult BUT He said HIS BURDEN IS LIGHT… which means He will carry it WITH me… with a resolution in the Spirit.
* Allow your heart to be burdened with those things that burden the Lord’s heart. Don’t run from pain.
* Know and guard against the dangers of being a Burden Bearer:
-Losing your joy and sense of humor
-Becoming rigid and inflexible
-Judgmental (‘They’ just don’t get it!)
-Oppressed
-Physically tired and worn down
-Self-centered, self-pity (no one really understands the burden I’m carrying)
* As a watchman - know your ‘Wall’. What is your ‘post’? Ask the Lord for your specific area of prayer and intercession. Your duty station cannot be manned by anyone else…. Nor can you man anyone else’s.
We are truly in the End of Days. We each have an assignment from Heaven to fulfill. Be encouraged as the birth pangs increase. Be busy about the Father’s work. Redeem the time. Pray. Praise. Share. Soon… it will be over!
“Do not pray for easy lives!
Pray to be stronger men.
Do not pray for tasks equal to your powers,
Pray for powers equal to your tasks.
Then the doing of your work shall be no miracle,
But YOU shall be a miracle.

Millionaire Producer: God Told Me to Rebuild Ten Commandments Monument

TAYLOR BERGLUND  CHARISMA NEWS
Join us on our podcast each weekday for an interesting story, well told, from Charisma News. Listen at charismapodcastnetwork.com.

God's Not Dead executive producer Troy Duhon says God led him to donate money to rebuild Arkansas' destroyed Ten Commandments monument.
Arkansas' new Ten Commandments statue, located on public land but paid for with private funds, was demolished just one day after its installation. The culprit, Michael Tate Reed, professed to be a Christian and posted a video of his vandalism to Facebook.
"The first day it gets put up, a gentleman decides he's going to run it over," Duhon said. "I was on the bus, headed to Creation Music fest, and I felt God say, 'Will you help me?'"
Duhon and fellow executive producer Bob Katz called the governor's office and donated $25,000 to efforts to rebuild the monument. One week later, Duhon and Katz flew to Little Rock, Arkansas, for the formal presentation of the check. Michael Berry, deputy general counsel and director of military affairs for First Liberty, was also present. A skilled debater for religious freedom, Berry fielded several press questions at the event regarding separation of church and state.
Duhon says not to mistake this as the end of the battle, though. The ACLU will likely file suit, and the case will live on. But Duhon says Arkansas' willingness to "take the fight on" is exciting.
"From a private citizen's perspective and being a Christian, I was so impressed with what the state of Arkansas is doing," Duhon said. "Instead of relinquishing their rights, they are fighting to put rights back into the state capitol, back into schools."
God's Not Dead 2 was filmed in Little Rock. It was the first of many great experiences for Duhon in the state.
"God is doing something special in the state of Arkansas," Duhon said. "I think the rest of the country is going to open their eyes and realize, especially if they prevail, that God is doing something."
Duhon believes that this Arkansas monument battle is symbolic of a much larger battle for Christians nationwide.
"My oldest son said, 'Why is this relevant?'" Duhon said. "I said, 'Son, tell me what America would look like if Americans operated under the Ten Commandments. When you look at the crime rate, the divorce rate, the incarceration rate and the murder rate, what would America be if we honored the Ten Commandments?'
"I think it's something as Christians we need to fight for. We need to fight for our rights. My hat's off to State Senator Jason Rapert because for a senator to take this fight on, coming under the scrutiny he's been under, and not be afraid—we as a Christian community need to support him and endorse him."

Why Believers Should Join This Group Set on Obliterating This Deceptive Cancer - BLAKE LORENZ CHARISMA NEWS

Why Believers Should Join This Group Set on Obliterating This Deceptive Cancer

BLAKE LORENZ  CHARISMA NEWS
Last week, I sat listening to a lecture by Dr. Hanson, an associate professor at the University of Central Florida, on the new anti-Semitism that is spreading throughout the Middle East and Europe. My heart grieved as I heard the horrors of what is being done to the Jews today in our age of progressive freedom.
This new intellectual ideology is supposed to be a rallying cry for the oppressed against the oppressor. Instead, it has become a deceptive cancer, eating at the heart of our society in the form of anti-Semitism. Make no mistake, what is being done to the Jews is pure evil. We are without excuse. None is innocent, for we are our brothers' keeper.
In this new world order, Israel is equated with Nazi Germany as the oppressor of Palestinians. As the Nazis exterminated the Jews is World War II, so are the Jews seeking to wipe out the Palestinians. This twisted logic and propaganda has caused a new generation of Jew haters to arise in Europe, inspired by the false teachings coming out of the Middle East.
It is filled with a racial hatred that is causing the burning of synagogues, murder of the Jews, destruction of their stores and a boycott of their goods produced in Israel. Jewish cemeteries are desecrated and children are taught to kill the Jews.
The Obama administration looked the other way in sinful denial of this persecution of the Jews as it tried to bury our heads in the sands of politically correct language. One example was their feeble attempt to say the fire bombing of a kosher restaurant in France was a random act of violence. They implied it was not anti-Semitism because customers were hurt who were not Jewish.
The root of this anti-Semitism comes from Christian Europe when Constantine, the newly converted Roman Emperor, ordered the Roman Empire to become Christian. This began the sick seed that said Jews were Christ-killers. They deserved to be persecuted, hunted and driven from Europe.
The blood of many Jews lies on the hands of Christians, whose own Savior is a Jew. This truth needs to be confessed before God and the world, the result of which needs to be repentance shown in love and the building of relationships with the Jewish community.
The Arab world is the largest sponsor of the new anti-Semitism. They claim the Jews are colonial oppressors of the Palestinians. Yet any honest study of history shows it was the Muslim Arabs who were the imperialist colonial power that came out of the Arabian Peninsula to conquer the ancient land of Israel.
The Palestinians are actually the descendants of the colonial oppressors of Israel. Now that Israel has been reborn, the Jews are reclaiming their homeland, which they settled 2,000 years before the Muslim Arabs came as conquerors into their cities and villages.
What is the answer to the propaganda that has unleashed the terrors of anti-Semitism spreading across the globe from Siberia to Iran to Syria to North Africa to Europe onto the American continents and even into China and the countries of Asia?
We must stand up for the truth by educating ourselves with the facts of history in order to show the ugliness of these lies that spread hatred and harm. We need to organize like the Zionistas, who sponsored this lecture on "The New Anti-Semitism." They are a group of Jews and Christians dedicated to the truth in uniting our communities in love.
Jesus said, "The truth will set you free." As Christians, we cannot deny the sins of our fathers and also the sins of today in the church by our neglect of this harbinger of death. We must open our doors in love and support of the Jews and Israel, but not as an arm of prejudice against Arabs, Muslims or even deceived Christians.
There needs to be a dialogue and strong witness that we will not allow any form of anti-Semitism or prejudice against any group of people, but speak the truth in love with authority and power—not in physical force, but in humility and faith in the living God Who created us in His image.
A new movie called Hate Spaces, the Politics of Intolerance on Campus has been produced, of which Alan Dershowitz says, "Hate Spaces is a wake-up call to the Jewish community and to civil society in America about the institutionalization of bigotry on college campuses."
Hatred of the Jews is real in our global network. Indifference and ignorance are no excuses to allow its terror to spread through propaganda and the false teachings of history. "For evil to triumph, all it takes is for good men to do nothing." —Edmund Burke
Let us unite together to extinguish this plague of death once and for all, so we can live in love as God created us to be as our God in heaven is one.

Why Believers Should Diligently Pray for Israel This Coming Week - JONATHAN FELDSTEIN CHARISMA NEWS

Israel desperately needs your prayers for next week's peace summit in Paris. (Flickr )

Why Believers Should Diligently Pray for Israel This Coming Week

Standing With Israel
On Jan. 15, leaders from some 70-plus countries will meet in Paris to discuss issues relating to the Arab-Israel conflict, specifically between the Palestinians and Israel.
There's deep and legitimate concern that following the one-sided U.N. Security Council Resolution 2334 last month, that this Paris gathering will be the next step to yet another one-sided U.N. Resolution, possibly recognizing "Palestine" as a full state, setting its borders as the 1949 armistice lines and performing other unilateral actions that are not only deeply biased, but make peace harder than easier to reach. (For background, you can look at these articles from bridgesforpeace.com and the Jerusalem Post).
Political and civic leaders in Israel, the U.S. and other countries surely are working actively to prevent pontificating in Paris from becoming anything that forces Israel into a corner. I can only imagine the frenzied diplomatic jockeying at every level.
In addition to these important and necessary actions, it's also a time for prayer. As one friend suggested, he will be fasting. Christians and Jews need to stand together and pray together for God to ensure a positive outcome. I asked others what they would pray for.
These are some of the responses I received:
  • "We are with you in this war. Our hope is in God, not in man. Only God can show the way."
  • "God has been leading me to Esther because He is looking for those that will not stay silent in such troubling times for Israel. The Scripture I have been reading over and over is: "For if you remain silent at this time, relief and deliverance for the Jews will arise from another place, but you and your father's family will perish. And who knows but that you have come to your royal position for such a time as this?"
  • "Each of us is given areas of influence, and it's time for us to rise up and speak on behalf of the land given to the Jewish people to those in our sphere of influence. I pray we will not remain silent, but we will see an Esther generation coming forth in this time and season."
  • "We too are in a week of prayer and fasting. We will be lifting up Israel in much prayer."
  • "The heart of our prayer is that the eyes of the world's understanding will be opened in the knowledge of God, to know the importance of Israel in God's plan of salvation, that the blindness that deceives the world concerning Israel will be removed, and all will come to the love of God in support of Israel. We wrestle not with flesh and blood but with powers of darkness. The core problem is spiritual blindness. Only God can open the eyes of the blind."
  • "We pray for our fellow believers who are deceived by the wiles of Satan. It is difficult for us as follows of Jesus to understand how fellow Christians cannot see God's plan for Israel. That they will come to know God's mystery of joining Jew and Gentile together in the eternal covenant given to Abraham and all of its promises. May we all come to know the truth."
  • "I am praying Proverbs 2:1-15, "My son, if you will receive my words, and hide my commandments within you, so that you incline your ear to wisdom, and apply your heart to understanding; yes, if you cry out for knowledge, and lift up your voice for understanding, if you seek her as silver, and search for her as for hidden treasures, then you will understand the fear of the Lord, and find the knowledge of God. For the Lord gives wisdom; out of His mouth come knowledge and understanding. He lays up sound wisdom for the righteous; He is a shield to those who walk uprightly. He keeps the paths of justice, and preserves the way of His saints. Then you will understand righteousness and judgment and equity, and every good path. When wisdom enters your heart, and knowledge is pleasant to your soul, discretion will preserve you; understanding will keep you, to deliver you from the way of the evil man, from the man who speaks perverse things, from those who leave the paths of uprightness to walk in the ways of darkness; who rejoice to do evil, and delight in the perversity of the wicked; whose ways are crooked, and who are devious in their paths.
  • "I'm planning a time of prayer with friends on Saturday in preparation for Sunday's conference in Paris. Psalm 2 has been a source of prayer and encouragement to me to pray for the conference. I have prayed that God would confuse and confound all the plans and proceedings of the nations gathered together. I love the picture of God laughing, He will have the last laugh, and I am reminded of the saying 'He who laughs last laughs loudest.'"
  • "I have thought of Esther and Haman and the plans that Haman had for the Jews and how God, in His wisdom and power, reversed them all, so that what Haman meant for evil, He used for good. So, I pray that God will use for good all that Satan wants to use for evil."
  • "We are standing with you, dear brother, and all of our beloved Israel. We will not give up and we will not turn our backs."
As Jews worldwide read the Torah portion, Genesis 47:28-50:26, this week, we look to that section of Scripture for a relevant word for today's current events. Before Jacob died, he asked to be buried with his forefathers: "Then he charged them and said to them, 'I am about to be gathered to my people. Bury me with my fathers in the cave that is in the field of Ephron the Hittite, in the cave that is in the field of Machpelah, which is before Mamre in the land of Canaan, which Abraham bought along with the field from Ephron the Hittite as a burial place. They buried Abraham and Sarah his wife there. They buried Isaac and Rebekah his wife there, and I buried Leah there. The field and the cave that is there were purchased from the children of Heth'" (Gen. 37:29-32).
Let the nations of the world that gather in Paris not have the hubris to call the Land occupied, not when we know that it was deeded by God Himself, parts purchased to avoid any confusion, and because the people to whom God gave the Land cannot be "occupiers" in that Land when they are the owners.
I pray this will be a catalyst for far more prayer than politics, as the latter is important, but the former is essential. I pray you will add your prayers, share this article, and that together, millions like us will beseech God to continue to protect Israel throughout, and as a result of, this Paris gathering. And as the Torah continues in verse 20, let this be the model for Paris among those who mean evil against Israel: "But as for you, you intended to harm me, but God intended it for good, in order to bring it about as it is this day, to save many lives" (Gen. 50:20).
What is your prayer?
