NRB Awards Kim Davis for Commitment to Christian Values - LIBERTY COUNSEL CHARISMA NEWS

NRB Awards Kim Davis for Commitment to Christian Values

Above: Kim Davis leaves jail. (Reuters)

Join us on our podcast each weekday for an interesting story, well told, from Charisma News. Listen at charismapodcastnetwork.com.

Kim Davis, the Rowan County Clerk who was jailed for her Christian faith and her refusal to issue marriage licenses to same-sex couples, received the National Religious Broadcasters (NRB) President's Award for her faithful commitment to Christian values despite political and media opposition. Last year, this award went to Miriam Ibrahim, a woman imprisoned in Sudan for her Christian faith.
Kim Davis will receive the Heroine of the Faith award for her courage from Bott Radio Network, a Christian radio network with more than 100 stations nationwide that reaches more than 50 million people. The NRB conference brings together thousands of similar Christian communicators each year to encourage and educate them about current trends and issues facing the religious community.
Mat Staver, founder and chairman of Liberty Counsel, joined Kim Davis at the podium to represent the importance of our First Amendment freedoms and free-speech rights. Staver said, "Our client, Kim Davis, never asked for the spotlight. She was just doing her job while remaining faithful to Christian values. Our nation should never force people to choose between their jobs and their faith. Kim has been an encouragement to me and to everyone she meets, showing how completely God can transform a life and use it incredibly beyond what you can imagine, ask or think. I'm thankful to Jesus Christ for transforming lives. What you see in Kim is a woman whose life was transformed by Jesus, and she will not be unfaithful to our Lord, and that's why she was there. That's the story of Kim Davis."
Kim Davis is still in the process of a legal battle in Kentucky, where her case is pending. There has been victory after victory for Liberty Counsel's client, including the governor's executive order protecting her freedoms and a legislative bill that permanently removes clerk's names from the marriage license. There still remains her court case that we are continuing to fight for clarification of the religious freedom of all county clerks and for all citizens' First Amendment freedoms.
Liberty Counsel is an international nonprofit, litigation, education and policy organization dedicated to advancing religious freedom, the sanctity of life and the family since 1989, by providing pro bono assistance and representation on these and related topics.

A New Door Has Opened by Doug Addison - Identity Network

A New Door Has Opened by Doug Addison - Identity Network

A Door Opened in the Spiritual Realm

I released a prophetic word in May about sudden changes coming and the Wind of Change angel. During the weekend of May 30, a new door opened in the spiritual realm that is going to usher in a new season of radical changes for the good.

We had two earthquakes in Southern California and I not only felt both of them, God spoke to me during the shaking.

The first one was on Friday May 30, a 3.8 that was centered in San Pedro (Saint Peter, the rock). I heard the Holy Spirit say to "prepare for something new." It occurred at 8 PM and 8 represents new beginnings. God is going to "rock" things and radical change is on the way.

I felt compelled to "prepare" so I bought some earthquake preparedness items. On Sunday, June 1 just before 8 PM and just as I was installing earthquake straps on our new television, another earthquake rocked the Los Angeles area. These were very mild earthquakes and there was no damage. It was a prophetic sign of something new coming. This is not a judgment word. The first earthquake was 3.8 and the second one happened as I was strapping down my "tell-a-vision". This is symbolic that God is bringing new visions and a new foundation for the way to bring these new visions into reality.

Because the earthquakes both initially registered 3.8, I was drawn to Revelation 3:8 that says:
"I know your deeds. See, I have placed before you an open door that no one can shut. I know that you have little strength, yet you have kept my word and have not denied my name."

Doors represent new opportunities and seasons. New strength and spiritual authority is coming to those who are weak and have been holding on to prophetic words and promises. The new door has opened and we can expect to see things pick up. I want to share a few things I have learned about responding to something of this magnitude.

Things Often Looks Opposite

As God is on the move and opening news doors, keep in mind that things quite often look like the opposite just before a breakthrough. I keep mentioning this to people because it is crucial to understand this right now. As God is releasing something new in your life don't be surprised if the enemy comes and tries to distract you.

A mesmerizing type of spirit is working overtime to get you to look at your problems and not solutions. Old thoughts and behaviors may have recently surfaced and during a time we should be excited, we end up feeling discouraged!
We have to be careful that we don't come into agreement with the attack of the enemy.

"Truly I tell you, whatever you bind on earth will be bound in heaven, and whatever you loose on earth will be loosed in heaven. Again, truly I tell you that if two of you on earth agree about anything they ask for, it will be done for them by my Father in heaven." Matthew 18:18-19 NIV

Here's some good news: stay the course and you will break through the fog. June gloom will lift and July through September will have a different feel and spiritual freedom will come.

Limits are Being Removed

God is limitless so what you can do through His love, power, and strength has no limits as well! You have access to everything you need to succeed. You have peace with God, the power that raised Jesus from the dead is in you and you have the Holy Spirit and God's network of angels. You God's word and promises and you have friends and people who love you and can pray with you! Yes, you have lots of resources so be sure to utilize them.

"I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me." Philippians 4:13 NKJV

"… but with God all things are possible." Matthew 19:26 NIV

The Outcasts are Coming! The Outcasts are Coming!

I have been talking for a number of years about a move of God coming on those who have been outcast from Christianity. There is a group being held in reserve right now that will do things in the Spirit that will be astounding. Currently they don't fit in and they don't realize who they are just yet. Many of them seem hopeless. Some have grown up in church but got wounded and are drifting in life. Most of them feel deep inside there is something more for them to accomplish on Earth but they don't know what it is.

A few years ago God showed me that this group and this new movement coming is similar to Isaiah 44:

"For I will pour water on the thirsty land, and streams on the dry ground; I will pour out my Spirit on your offspring, and my blessing on your descendants. They will spring up like grass in a meadow, like poplar trees by flowing streams. Some will say, 'I belong to the LORD' others will call themselves by the name of Jacob; still others will write on their hand, 'The LORD's,' and will take the name Israel." Isaiah 44:3-5

There's a commitment level coming on a generation of people who have been living in a dry time. They will soon come on the scene and have an amazing commitment to the Lord. My entire ministry and life calling is to help these individuals who are "spiritual outcasts." They are already starting to rise up. They are not really in a particular age bracket but they are the best of the best being saved to come on the scene at the right time. What God is doing right now is starting outside of church buildings and it may look strange at first to those who don't have spiritual "eyes to see" as Jesus said.

If you know someone who fits the outcast description, maybe your children, grandchildren, or someone you love is seriously adrift, here's a promise from God to you for them:

This is what the Lord says: "Restrain your voice from weeping and your eyes from tears, for your work will be rewarded," declares the Lord. "They will return from the land of the enemy. So there is hope for your descendants," declares the Lord. "Your children will return to their own land." Jeremiah 31:16-17 NIV

The new is here! Expect to continue to see things happen at an accelerated pace. We are moving into a time that we can accomplish more with less effort. Keys for this new time are to stay at peace and let go of doubt and fear. Ask God to show you what you should focus on specifically for this time.

This is an amazing time to be alive!

Blessings,

Leadership Through Love (Chapter 12) - "Another Man’s Vineyard (…and now my own.)" - Steve Martin

Editor's Note: This is the final chapter of my book, "Leadership Through Love." If you have missed any of the previous chapters, you can search this blog using the Search box in the top right hand corner, inserting "Leadership Through Love."

I hope you gain useful insights for yourself from reading this chapter, and all previous ones.

Shalom, with continued blessings on ye head.

Steve Martin

Chapter 12

Another Man’s Vineyard
(…and now my own.)

-          Follow & help fulfill their vision
-          Faithful with another’s
-          Learn and growth until your time
-          The proper way of moving on

For 23 years I served as the Administrator or Director of Operations & Finance for three different ministries, doing that which I knew to do. Together with the leaders of those respective ministries, we laid foundations and established further the “vineyard” that the Lord had entrusted to the founders.

As a vital part of the work, being faithful in adding to the building and the ongoing structure, it did enable me to do my part in seeing the work of the Lord done. The Lord was glorified, people were “built up” in the faith, buildings were restored and placed into the work of the kingdom, and the living spiritual vineyard produced lasting fruit.

My heart was given to the Lord through these ministries, but as time passed, there were things the Lord had been calling me to do, which my heart’s cry was to see them fulfilled. Beginning with what He had put in my heart, even as a young child, to be a missionary and take the gospel to the nations, and with ongoing prophetic words, the desire to have my own vineyard grew evermore present.

My natural gifts, which to me are an expression of the spiritual gifts He had given me, were in administration, accounting and general management of inventories, staff and daily tasks, but my heart so longed to “not sit behind a desk 40 hours a week”, but to travel and take His love beyond the local setting. Often I expressed that desire to those I was under, and to fellow workers. At times the desire was so intense, and I repeatedly asked the Lord when I would be delivered from the desk job to something that I knew for me was more.

During this time, the ongoing struggle to be faithful with the daily tasks, while at the same time praying and yearning for the adventurous tasks, was very difficult. Trying to keep focused on the maintenance of the ministry, when I wanted so much to be in the movement of the ministry, reminded me of Joseph in prison. He was in the Lord’s will I am sure, and yet the constant waiting of when that time would be over and he would be out of prison was something I could very much relate to.

At times I was even resentful of those who had the opportunities to go, while I stayed home and manned the fort. When I would hear them speak of the strain of travel and that type of ministry, my silent response was, “Then you stay and let me go instead”, but it never happened. I didn’t want to have the inner struggle of believing the grass is greener on the other side, but I honestly longed for the opportunities to travel in ministry.

Even more discouraging during the years when I was the administrator of one ministry where the leaders were often traveling, people would ask me if I went along to the distant lands and people. I had to respond “No.” It was hard to continue convincing myself that this was the place the Lord has for me, and I needed to be fulfilled in doing what I had been given to do. My job was to take care of the office and staff, while it was their job to go.

After many years of this struggle, I finally had to do something, and so asked if I could at least go once a year on an international trip with them. When the response came back as no, then to keep my having the ache of the heart continue, I gave my resignation notice, and began looking for the next position I believed the Lord would give me.

So what do you do as the administrator, or key person in an organization, and though you are good at what you are doing, your heart is just no longer in it? For me, I knew I had to move on. Otherwise my attitude would have become very bitter, and I would have brought harm to the ministry, rather than being a constructive part of the work.

When you are faced with this decision, the Lord will give you the proper way to leave a situation. In the times when I left two business and three ministry positions, He had generally given me a year’s notice prior to the course change up ahead. In my desire to then bless those whom I was leaving, I gave a three to six month notice, in order for them to find the right replacement and have training done for my position.

Even when I didn’t have another position lined up, the Lord honored my commitment I had with current leadership, to not leave them in a precarious place in their own work. And for each of these five job changes, He had brought a good replacement person for the work, and then led me to the next place that I was needed at.

There is always a proper way to leave one situation for another. As hard as change can be, and yet necessary, the Lord will reveal His plan if asked, and if each party is open to listening. I am thankful that that has happened in each case for me. I believe my honesty and faithfulness throughout the years at the job was a key factor in how the leadership blessed me in my leaving, and how I had blessed them.

During the transition time, the company or ministry had time to find another person to take my place. On two occasions I was able to recommend an assistant whom I had trained properly, and so the transition went very smooth. On two other occasions I recommended those I knew who had the skills to take over as I was leaving. They were hired, based on my recommendation.

I in turn had time to prepare my family, and to search for the next location of employment. Knowing that indeed it is true, “For I know the plans I have for you", says the Lord, "plans for welfare and not for calamity”, gave me confidence that I was hearing the Lord during this transition, and that He was going to direct my steps.  Even when I didn’t have the next position in place at the time of my resignation notices, my faith in the Lord’s provision was constant. He had proven Himself trustworthy to me, and thus I was able to put my trust in Him.

And Now My Own

On November 23, 2009, on my 55th birthday, I gave my resignation notice to the president and founder of the third ministry I had then served with, after a period of five years with them. This decision was based on several factors, including the first being that of the Lord, having put a desire in my heart, since I was ten years of age, to go to the nations.

Several prophetic words had also been received over those many years, which brought encouragement and built up my faith. I knew the time had come to step out and start my “own vineyard”.

So began the new ministry of “Love For His People, Inc.”  Along with other believers, we  primarily seek to bless the people of Israel with support, encouragement, and humanitarian aid. You can view our full website: www.loveforhispeople.org

It was, and continues to be, a time of needed faith, mindful that my trust rests on solid ground - the Lord Jesus Christ Himself.

As a final thought, keep your eyes fixed on the Lord in all situations, and you will see Him direct your steps into His full purposes for you. I for one can testify of His faithfulness and His provision in all.

Carry on!

His Commitment Has Become Mine.

Commitment to His purposes for Israel and the Jewish people.

Jerusalem Western Wall (The Kotel) painting/poster

This poster measures 36" x 24" and hangs above my home office desk for Love For His People, Inc

I bought it around 1995 at the Toronto Airport Christian Fellowship (John & Carol Arnott), when on a ministry trip with Mahesh Chavda (All Nations Church/Mahesh Chavda Ministries.)

The other photos that I have placed around the border are as follows:

1. Peter & Joy Wyns - top left hand corner, pastors of Antioch International Church in Fort Mill, SC where Laurie and I are members, and Beit Tikvah pastors

2. Merkebu Yeman and I (bottom right hand corner) near Jerusalem. Merku administrated the Medical Department at the Joseph Storehouse (Vision for Israel) near Jerusalem, founded by Barry & Batya Segal.

3. The photo of the Jewish family in the bottom middle was taken by me in 2009 when I was participating in the Jerusalem March (October Feast of Tabernacles/Sukkot), with our Vision for Israel tour group. I love the little girl's expression - if you can see it. So sweet.)

4. The one picture to the right of the Jewish family photo was taken by me at the Western Wall, with an IDF soldier going to pray at the Kotel (Wall). One of my favorite places in the Jewish capital city of Jerusalem.

5. The postcard of the Jerusalem Old City Golden (Eastern) Gate, where Yeshua HaMashiach (Jesus the Messiah) will return through in triumph (His 2nd coming), was bought by me on one of my 10 trips to Israel. I probably mailed it from Israel to my Charlotte home, so I would have the stamped postmark!

6. The photo of the wall mural on the left side (middle) was painted on the All Nations Church location, which we called "The Barn" in Charlotte, NC by Jerome Lucas, in 1995.

It reads "By Thy favor, O Lord, build the walls of Jerusalem."

The land on which The Barn was built on was sold in 1995, and the structure was torn down after only one year. I am glad I have this photo left (among others.) We held many all night prayer and praise "Watch of The Lord" Friday night meetings there (from 10 pm to 6 pm)!

7. The bottom left hand corner postcard is of the Israel national flag and the shofar.

I bought this watch online in 2004. I didn't want to wear it all the "time" (pun intended), but have decided to now. (When it "runs out of time", I will get a new one!)

This great piece of artwork, stitched embroidery on cloth, was given to me by a true friend in 1997, when I was the Administrator at All Nations Church in Charlotte, NC. It also hangs above my home office desk of Love For His People, Inc. (This desk IS the office desk of the ministry. I work at home for the ministry, in addition to my full time accounting job in uptown Charlotte.)

And finally, I want to share with you the story of my Star of David ring.

In 2004, while on a tour with Christian Friends of Israel (US), as a board member for the past 14 years at that time, I again visited the shop of my good friend Avraham Saidan, whom I had met a few years earlier. His son David ran the Judaica gift shop on Ben Yehuda Street in Jerusalem.

As I was looking at gifts to buy for family and friends, I noticed all the neat rings on one wall's shelf. I thought that would be a nice addition to my home collection of Israeli Jewish memorabilia. So I found this one, which fit on my finger.

When I got home, a few weeks later, I was looking at it, where I had placed it on my bedroom dresser. The Lord said to put it on.

I said, "What?"

He said, "Put it on."

I responded, "That would be like marrying Israel. I am already married, and really don't need a second wife." In the good sense of the word. I knew about Abraham and others in the Bible.)

He responded, "From now on you ARE married to Israel and the Jewish people."

And I said, "Yes Lord."

And so I have worn my Star of David ring ever since. I am committed to Yeshua's purposes for Israel and His people. His commitment is also mine.

Ahava to my family of friends,

Steve Martin

Commitment, Persistence, Dedication - The first three years of Love For His People

Commitment, Persistence, Dedication

Building With Living Stones...

The First Three Years Completed!

Love For His People

"...you yourselves, as living stones,

are being built

into a spiritual house

to be cohanim (a holy priesthood)

set apart for God

to offer spiritual sacrifices

acceptable to Him through

Yeshua the Messiah."

(1 Peter 2:5) Complete Jewish Bible

In the spring of 2010 the ministry of Love For His People was "officially" birthed. We received our USA Federal Government 501(c)3 non-profit status. So I guess that is considered the starting point for some here in America.

But most importantly, it was in the heart of the Lord Yeshua (Jesus) from the beginning of time. He just let me know about it on my 55th birthday (Nov. 23, 2009), asking me to step out in faith, leave my important and secure job with another ministry, and go forth.

And then, of all things, He started to have me speak up and write on for this work. My background is business administration and accounting. Not so much a polished minister. (I was ordained though in 2003 and have performed two weddings to date. The third one happens October 12, 2013 with our oldest daughter Hannah.)

As a result of this commitment to bless Israel and the Jews with this new outreach, Love For His People, Inc. has pressed on through the first three lean years, and is poised to go forth further with His encouragement, wisdom and strength. Those three proclaimation words, found on our original logo above, set the foundational course we would pursue.

Over these young years we have passed a few milestones along the way. Maybe I should pick some up and leave these stones around the house, just as the Israelites did in remembrance of the Lord's faithfulness in getting them across the Jordan. Then someday we will build an altar with them, which would represent the sacrifice requested of the Lord.

One precious stone would commemorate the 48th issue of Ahava Love Letter (entitled "Back To The Future"), which was published on April 1, 2013.

The starting fire ignition of these letters came as a result of the Lord's urging, in November of 2010, within a week after a trip to Israel. His Holy Spirit, Ruach HaKodesh, stirs people up when they go.

My purpose in writing these encouraging ahava words is to share His love in a real, down to earth expression. Did you know that the Hebrew word ahava means love? Connect that with the Gentile/English word love, which we do in our letter title, and you get the One New Man bonding of love. Ahava and love. Jew and Gentile. Coming together, as brothers and sisters in the Lord.

Ahava Love Letters have been posted on this Blog, Facebook Love For His People, Cross TV (Cross TV - Love For His People) and Twitter account (Steve Martin - Love For His People). Our other website also has some featured. Love For His People - full website.

Previously we had sent them out exclusively through e-mails and Constant Contact, but even e-mailing is becoming rare outside of the office, as social media changes hourly. Ask the next generation. My daughter Hannah is still trying to get me to switch to the IPhone. My ancient BlackBerry works just fine.

You can search this Blog to see most of the letters. They also can be found through googling. Thank God for Google, who is unknowingly helping to get the Gospel out! I believe the Lord had them and other such social media businesses established, to serve His purposes. He is always in perfect control. In each of our lives and the nations. Someday all will come to that understanding, one way or another.

Some people think numbers do not matter to the Lord. Adonai (the Lord) loves numbers! He has exact counts all through the Scriptures, beginning with those in the beginning (Genesis) to the final declarations at the triumphal celebration of the Marriage Supper of the Lamb! (Revelation of Yeshua). (I personally hope we have prime rib, medium rare. Two servings, Lord?! And then triple layer chocolate cake for desert?!)

How many fish and loaves were there? How many fish did Peter pull out of the water? The days the Israelites marched around Jericho were how many? See, you know because He wanted you to. So we will share a few here, which has encouraged us as the foundation of this ministry has been laid.

In addition to the Ahava Love Letters, along with postings of news articles from Israel and other truthful sources, we have now surpassed the 777 posting mark on this Blog, with almost 47,000 page views. Another stone for the altar.

As of today, April 5, 2013, on our Cross TV website, we have had 197,324 profile views since the first look in August, 2010. (Cross TV - Love For His People Ministries)

The Love For His People FaceBook page has 3550 friends, 90 followers, and some photos (7,984 - just short of 8,000) for people to see the fascinating land of Israel. Someday we pray they themselves will walk the Land, where Jesus Himself did. By the way, the land itself is far more than just ancient stones.

On Oct. 20, 2010, we launched our YouTube channel Love For His People Inc. It now numbers 144 videos, 146 subscribers and 135,985 views. Small beginning with a big heart. Spreading the Word and touching the World.

Another stone of remembrance would represent the time in 2010, when I took my son Ben, the one who does such a great job with our full website  Love For His People and all logos, on his first time trip to Israel. He was part of the initation of our Ahava Adventures to Israel. We are looking forward to the time when many of his generation join us.

Our goal for these truly adventurous service trips is for the Lord to put a little bit more of His heart for Israel and the Jews into the hearts of those who go with us. Incredible.

As I look back now, that first Ahava Adventure was my 10th trip to Eretz Yisrael, the Land of Israel. If I do the math, which I do often being an accountant, having made 10 trips by 2010 could mean 20 by 2020. Come along with us! We keep it cheap - but only in the cost.

That which we give thanks for the most, transpiring over these years, is the friendship and support we have established with and for the Israeli Jews. This is one major, primary purpose of this ministry. We seek to be active participants in fullfilling His Word, out of obedience - "Those who bless Israel will be blessed." (Genesis 12:3) We thus take the Lord seriously, in a practical manner.

It has been just like a few small stones thus far, like the widow's mite, by sending direct monthly support to three families in Jerusalem. But as others bring their stones of skill, experience and provision, we anticipate this solid foundation will be absolutely made stronger.

Many more stones of remembrance will be laid down, as we move forward. Some will help pave the highway for His people to make aliyah. Others who will walk down this road of carefully placed stones will come to acknowledge and appreciate what the Jews have done for the nations, beginning with the Bible.

We will also stand strong against the false, massive lie of the enemy, commonly known in the Church today as Replacement Theology. That leads people to believe that the Jews are no longer in God's eternal plan, but have been replaced by the Church. It is ONE tree that the Lord created. The Jews are the roots. We, as Gentiles (goyim) are the grafted-in branches. Simple as that.

We will share the LOVE BEAT OF YESHUA'S HEART FOR HIS.

His name is on their Promised Land. They are the apple of His eye. His Archangel Michael watches over them daily.

Therefore, our family and friends have decided to stand with the Lord and His Chosen People. As long as we live, we will be there for them - the Jews and their places of habitation.

Take your place as the Lord directs you.

The passionate love work of Love For His People marches on.

From the Complete Jewish Bible:

1 Peter 2:5-10

"...you yourselves, as living stones, are being built into a spiritual house to be cohanim set apart for God to offer spiritual sacrifices acceptable to him through Yeshua the Messiah.

6

This is why the Tanakh says, "Look! I am laying in Tziyon a stone, a chosen and precious cornerstone; and whoever rests his trust on it will certainly not be humiliated."x

7

Now to you who keep trusting, he is precious. But to those who are not trusting, "The very stone that the builders rejected has become the cornerstone";y

8

also he is a stone that will make people stumble, a rock over which they will trip.z They are stumbling at the Word, disobeying it — as had been planned.

9

But you are a chosen people,a the King’s cohanim,b a holy nation,c a people for God to possess!d Why? In order for you to declare the praises of the One who called you out of darkness into his wonderful light.

10

Once you were not a people, but now you are God’s people; before, you had not received mercy, but now you have received mercy.e
