'Not On My Watch': Activist Mommy Fights for Family, Faith, and Freedom - CBN News

ABOVE: The "Activist Mommy," Elizabeth Johnston, talks with Pat Robertson about her new book,
Not On My Watch, on Tuesday's 700 Club.
'Not On My Watch': Activist Mommy Fights
for Family, Faith, and Freedom
02-18-2019
Elizabeth Johnston, known as the Activist Mommy to her millions of online followers, has amassed over 70 million video views on social media while speaking passionately on controversial cultural issues.
Her new book, Not On My Watch: How to Win the Fight for Family, Faith, and Freedom– written in her characteristically no-nonsense style – is meant to equip Christian moms, dads, grandparents and Millennials to tackle the current cultural issues of natural marriage, free speech, the sexualization of children, abortion, and gender erasure.
"If you are tired of your values being trampled, then you must tread beyond your home and the four walls of the church to impact your culture for God," says Elizabeth. "Our nation suffers from an open wound called sin, and God wants to use us to bring healing. May a movement of men and women shake off the fear of man and rise to the great task of preserving our nation and rescuing future generations."
From the mom who exposed Teen Vogue and launched the global Sex Ed Sit-Out movement comes a page-turner that is sure to convict and inspire like no other. As a mother who has made Christian activism a calling for her life and her family, Johnston courageously defends the timeless truths of God's Word throughout Not on My Watch.
She exposes a growing trend in schools where teachers are telling students that they can be whatever gender they feel like. "It's a perfectly normal, healthy option they say," she tells CBN. "They are absolutely wreaking confusion and havoc on this generation. They are radical cultural Marxists who have every intention of changing the fabric of our nation and ensuring that our children do not hold our values. That is why I'm a huge homeschool advocate."
Now Johnston tells CBN Founder Pat Robertson about her latest cause – to battle the horror of New York state's radical new abortion law through prayer and repentance at nationwide rallies this weekend.
"This Saturday, the day of mourning is being held across this nation. We are calling America to repent over the 46 years of bloodshed. We are asking Americans to wear black, to not shop, to close down your businesses for the day, and to repent for the sin of abortion," she tells CBN. "You know the Benham Brothers. We have them speaking. Black conservative David J. Harris will be speaking. We're holding a huge flagship rally that's already sold out, in Albany, New York, right in the epicenter of where Governor Cuomo signed and celebrated that outrageous, infanticide law."
"We're gonna be right there, in the convention center underneath the state house where they signed that law," she said. "And we are owning this sin, even as God's people, if you've never committed an abortion, there's a sense in which we have been completely complicit, completely silent, we have not been the Good Samaritan that we must be, and so we have to own this as God's people for allowing this bloodshed for 46 years. And we're gonna get on our faces before God, thousands of people, and repent for the sin of abortion."
Johnston is an activist vlogger who educates and inspires the public on the burning social and moral issues of the day that are important to families. She and her husband, Patrick, who is a medical doctor, author, and movie producer, have been pro-life ministry leaders for many years and home educators to their ten beautiful children.
The growing threat to America's children and the vicious attack on religious liberty is what dynamited Elizabeth out of her comfort zone to inspire a nation of belittled conservatives and Christians to "come out of their closets" and boldly take their country back. Elizabeth triggers the Left by confronting the lies of abortion, feminism, Islam, and the homosexual agenda with wit and snark as only she can, and she regularly posts viral commentary videos, which have netted over 70 million views.
Elizabeth has been featured on many major media outlets, such as Fox & Friends, the New York Times, TheBlaze, and the Christian Broadcasting Network (CBN), as she has become a thought leader on topics of importance to families. The pulse behind all her activism and cultural commentary is her love for her family and her Savior, Jesus Christ.

From the Desk of Steve Shultz:

Steve ShultzI was really intrigued as I read through this latest article by Jennifer Martin about "moving mountains." After all, Jesus said we could move mountains and cast them into the sea...say what?
Jennifer starts out with this in her article:

Can we really move mountains? When Jesus spoke of moving mountains by faith, did He actually want people to physically move the mountain? I mean, even Jesus Himself never moved one as far as I know. Interesting that Jesus talks about it yet having never done it Himself. Did the Father want Him to demonstrate to us how to actually move a mountain and throw it into the sea?

Now, read on and find out how you can move mountains in your life! (To Subscribe to the Elijah List subscribe here.)

Dear friends,

Can we really move mountains? When Jesus spoke of moving mountains by faith, did He actually want people to physically move the mountain? I mean, even Jesus Himself never moved one as far as I know. Interesting that Jesus talks about it yet having never done it Himself. Did the Father want Him to demonstrate to us how to actually move a mountain and throw it into the sea?

I'm sure Jesus would have done it, if it was the will of the Father. And Jesus did say in John 5:19,  "Truly, truly, I say to you, the Son can do nothing of Himself, unless it is something He sees the Father doing; for whatever the Father does, these things the Son also does in like manner." So I'm assuming the reason Jesus didn't go around demonstrating His power by throwing mountains was because He didn't see His Father doing it. Wow! Think about that for a minute. The focus is not throwing mountains, but seeing what is impossible becoming possible with God. Matthew 19:26 reminds us that, "With man this is impossible, but with God all things are possible."

Nothing Will Be Impossible for You

Jesus was trying to make a point and get something deep in our hearts about what faith actually looks like and where it comes from. If He had used another example, we may not have gotten the point at all. Because something smaller might have been possible to do without faith, maybe we could handle small things by hand or by force. We could work many situations merely by trying to find a solution and stretching forth our hands to work. So there are times when things are possible with man.

But in this case, what do we do with a mountain? How could we possibly move a mountain by hand, right? People had to be thinking: "What does He mean by 'moving mountains'? It can't happen!" But Jesus gave the answer when He said, in Matthew 17:20, "…if you have faith like a grain of mustard seed, you will say to this mountain, 'Move from here to there,' and it will move, and nothing will be impossible for you."

So, if I just have a tiny bit of FAITH, I can move this mountain? I don't need some big, massive army to cut-down every tree, but just a tiny-sized seed of faith? Yes! It is supernatural. It is not by force, not by hand, but by faith.

I can hear the disciples asking, "So Lord, You mean that there are times when we really can do nothing? That we have to just believe in and rely on God alone?"

Jesus said in John 11:40, "Did I not tell you that if you believed you would see the glory of God?"

Just Believe and Do Not Doubt

Yes! There are many times when our efforts won't change a thing. Our actions won't bring results. There are times when after you've done all, you must stand (Ephesians 6:13). We must see the great strength in "just" standing, "just" believing, "just" resting and "just" waiting. There is power in the waiting. Isaiah 40:31 encourages us that, "They who wait for the LORD shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings like eagles; they shall run and not be weary; they shall walk and not faint."

God sees our faith! Faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen. You must not give up hope that God is truly "...a rewarder of those who diligently seek Him" (Hebrews 11:6).

Only believe! That's the one requirement. Just believe. Then, you will see God's glory manifest in your life. You will see that mountain move... always. It's time to wipe away the doubt, wipe away the fear, wipe away the "what ifs," and believe in the impossible again.

Faith is simply believing God to move that mountain. True faith will come out of a position of rest. Rest moves mountains and your mountain will move by resting in God's faithfulness to you. You don't have to scream at your mountain; you don't have to yell threats or take it down. Simply rest. Simply trust. Simply believe. Your mountain is moving while you rest.

FAITH MOVES GOD, AND GOD MOVES MOUNTAINS!

For the Love of God - Now Think On This by Steve Martin

For the Love of God

Now Think On This
Steve Martin

“Greater love has no one than this, that one lay down his life for his friends.” (John 15:3 NASU)

For the love of God we are called to do what we do. Mostly that is to give our life for others, even as the Lord Jesus Himself demonstrated it – by showing us how to do it as He gave His life for us. In walking daily in the leading of the Holy Spirit, and choosing to let go of His natural pleasures in order to do what He came to do, He gave His life.

So when the nudge came to wake up from the night’s sleep, and get out of bed, even though the red numbers on the digital clock read 5:08 am, a bit before my normal rising time these days, I dismissed the urge to lay there, and got up. And I knew why.

The night before someone had shared with me some of their struggles and concerns from that day. And as we all so often do, we allow worry and fears of the future to sometimes rob us of the faith and assurance of the times ahead. Sure, we know the verse, “My times are in Your hands…” (Psalm 31:5), but at times it doesn’t seem to be as strongly settled in our spirit as we would like it to be. We let the certainties be not as certain.

After getting up, getting dressed, and going downstairs, I said to them that I wanted to pray for them before they left for work. A simple prayer for peace, assurance, and trust in the Lord’s guidance – to know once again that their times were in His hands.

I believe it was a meaningful action, both for them and myself. Encouragement can come in many ways. I trust my obedience would bring the results the Lord intended, and the love of God He wanted to be expressed to them had been.

Bearing one another’s burdens is part of the calling we each have who call upon the Name of the Lord. Being there for each other, in good times and not so good, helps the encouragement level in our spirits to be a bit higher than walking it out alone. And so we do these things, as acts of faith and obedience.

We can daily stand on the promise given to us in His Word. When life gets hard, we can always trust in Him.

“Yet in all these things we are more than conquerors through Him who loved us. For I am persuaded that neither death nor life, nor angels nor principalities nor powers, nor things present nor things to come, nor height nor depth, nor any other created thing, shall be able to separate us from the love of God which is in Christ Jesus our Lord.” (Romans 8:37-39, NKJV)

For the love of God will keep us until the end. We encourage each other with His words.
Shalom and ahava (peace and love in Hebrew).

Open Hands, Open Heart - Now Think On This by Steve Martin

Open Hands, Open Heart

Now Think On This
Steve Martin

“But none of these things move me; nor do I count my life dear to myself, so that I may finish my race with joy, and the ministry which I received from the Lord Jesus, to testify to the gospel of the grace of God.” (Acts 20:24, NKJV)

One would think that when a certain age is reached in this human life, the need to press on in faith is not as great, or as needful as when one is just starting out in a younger age. I for one am finding that that is not necessarily so. The call to walk in faith, on a daily scale, seems to be just as needed as when I was young and raring to go, full of energy and vigor - to conquer the world for God.

It isn’t done until it is done.

It seems to be true that in this life we are not meant to reach that point where we can sit back and say, “I am finished. I did it all. No need to press on any further. There is no more for me, so I can relax and watch the remaining days go by, with ease and full pleasure.”

For me, it isn’t so. I find myself just as often these days, my “golden years”, visualizing my hands raised, open to the heavens, saying to the Lord, “I need You today. I need You to guide my steps. I need my heart to be open to your plans and purposes in my life for this hour, as they were in my past years, to accomplish what You want.”

Did not the Lord Himself advise the one who thought he had accomplished it all, by speaking these words of truth to him? “'And I will say to my soul, "Soul, you have many goods laid up for many years to come; take your ease, eat, drink and be merry."'  "But God said to him, ' You fool! This very night your soul is required of you; and now who will own what you have prepared?'  "So is the man who stores up treasure for himself, and is not rich toward God." (Luke 12:19-21, NASU)

Looks like we must never come to the point when we sit back and basically say to ourselves that we no longer need to seek, ask, or find what the Lord has yet in store for us. He is always calling us to Himself, to expect more from Him, to rest not in our accomplished laurels but in finishing strong to the end the full package He has in mind for each.

My heart is open to going further in the ways of the Lord, to have Him even more so perform the works of the Holy Spirit through me, bringing light and glory to the ones around me, and in the nations. Though I am content with what has come, what has been completed, grateful for what has been achieved in these past years, I will yet desire to press on to full completion.

Retirement in the Kingdom of God doesn’t seem to be found written in the Word of God.

You yourself may be one, like myself, who has reached the late 50’s, 60’s, or beyond. At times we have grown very weary in the pursuit and the fulfillment of it all, but with the strength of the Almighty One we serve, we have yet more to do. In His might we will accomplish it.

Keep your hands open and your heart also. Be encouraged in your pressing on. The reward is great. There is much yet to be won. And then we can sit back and enjoy the mansion in heaven that even now is being built for us.

Shalom and ahava (peace and love in Hebrew).

Unapologetic Christian Ben Carson Says Faith 'Helps Me Serve the Nation Better' - Jennifer Wishon CBN News

Unapologetic Christian Ben Carson Says Faith 'Helps Me Serve the Nation Better'
03-12-2018
CBN News  Jennifer Wishon
WASHINGTON — Leading a Washington bureaucracy and serving as a cabinet secretary isn't how Ben Carson thought he'd spend his retirement, but the famed pediatric neurosurgeon tells CBN News he's starting to see why God placed him in this unlikely position.
"As a pediatric neurosurgeon I spent a lot of time trying to give kids a second chance – operating for hours and hours, sometimes all night," he tells CBN News.
"But then being faced with having to send them back into a horrible environment with mold and lead and vermin – all kind of stuff – it was a horrible feeling for me – now I have a chance to actually do something about that environment," he continued.
One year into the job, he says God is revealed why He placed him there by taking Carson to the Bible.
"There's a verse in the Bible, Proverbs 29:18, that says, 'without a vision the people perish,' and I look around and see a lot of people who just are not thriving," Secretary Carson said.
Connecting Needs With Resources
That verse sparked the birth of EnVision Centers: community hubs connecting people's needs with resources that can help.
They bring together public, private and faith-based groups already providing the services needed.
The centers are designed to lead people to self-sufficiency through education and wellness while offering support along the way.
Ending the Cycle of Dependency
Carson is working to end the cycle of generations who have known nothing but living on government assistance.
"We have to provide a mechanism whereby they can climb the ladder of opportunity," he said.
As secretary, Carson has felt the belt tightening conservatives demand of the Trump administration.
The White House proposes cutting HUD's budget by nearly nine billion dollars next year.
"Would I rather have more money? Yes," he said with a laugh. "I could do more, no question about it."
However, his concerns about the national debt and his desire to make the agency operate more efficiently – like a business – encourage him to rise to the challenge.
"Our new definition of success is not how many people we get in these programs, but how many people we get out of them in a self-sufficient, powerful way so that they become a driving force right here in our own country," he said.
The conservative found himself in an embarrassing situation when he was forced to cancel an order for an expensive dining room suite for his office, once it was revealed it would cost taxpayers $31,000.
In a statement Carson said "no one was more surprised" than him.
He's also caught grief for daring to study the Bible and exercise his Christian faith as a member of President Trump's cabinet.
He attends the weekly cabinet Bible study led by Ralph Drollinger of Capitol Ministries.
No Apologies for His Faith
An atheist group sued HUD to get information about the study and how Carson exercises his faith in public life.
Unapologetic, Carson responded on social media, writing, "It is my faith that helps me serve the nation even better."
"We have to have a foundation for who we are," he told CBN News. "If you're going to have free exercise of it – it doesn't mean you only get to talk about it in church because sitting in the pews of a church and keeping things contained there is not going to help feed the hungry, clothe the naked or take care of the imprisoned or do any of the things that we actually need to do so your faith has to be a living component of everything that you do," he said.
He also wrote that Americans have to resist attacks on our spirituality at all costs
"We can't allow ourselves to be just marginalized," he said.
"You know, those who impose the political correctness agenda, you know, they are winning. They're having their way, they're changing our society away from what it used to be and that frightens me," he continued.
He says America needs to do a better job of developing its people and he understands the responsibility he's been given.
"You know, housing is an important foundation for the development of an individual and having that security is so important."
