Outraged Parents Demand School System Halt Pornographic 'Educational' Videos

LIBERTY COUNSEL STAFF   CHARISMA NEWS
Liberty Counsel has demanded that the Albemarle County Public Schools (ACPS) in Charlottesville, Virginia immediately no longer allow the Sexual Assault Resource Agency (SARA) to present pornographic videos and curriculum to students under the guise of "education."
Liberty Counsel represents outraged parents of 14-year-old girls who are students at Western Albemarle High School and were exposed to this damaging material during Family Life Education classes on April 13, 2018. The Sex Positivity curriculum was presented, without the consent or knowledge of parents, to two classes of ninth-grade girls by Lexie Huston, an employee of SARA. Huston publicly opposes abstinence education, claiming it is "ineffectual and unethical."
The SARA curriculum does not align to the Virginia and ACPS Family Life Curriculum and the promotion of abstinence. Nowhere in the SARA curriculum are the words "abstinence," "legal," "moral," "faith" or "parents." However, the word "sex" or derivatives appears more than 49 times in the document, including the sentence "I'd like to have sex tonight, would you?" as well as the statement that "There is no 'right way' to have sex—as long as it's consensual and safe."
As part of the presentation, the students were shown two different YouTube videos describing sexual acts in graphic detail. The producer of the videos served on the ACLU's Board of Directors for three years and works with Planned Parenthood.
SARA, which is affiliated with Planned Parenthood, claims Huston obtained approval from the school's physical education department. However, apparently the department chair did not review the curriculum and videos before giving approval. Yet, Huston and SARA intentionally failed to mention the addition of this obscene material to the previously approved curriculum. Despite this deception by omission, SARA expressed no regret, instead shifting responsibility back onto the school.
The videos violate Virginia laws protecting minors which prohibit "display of child pornography or grooming videos or materials to a child" and makes it a felony for any person to take indecent liberties with children; and provides that any "person 18 years of age or over, who, with lascivious intent, knowingly and intentionally commits any of the following acts with any child under the law."
In addition to the egregious videos, the SARA "Sex Positivity" curriculum contains roleplay activities that are coercive, expose children to the sexual beliefs of others that may be far removed from their own, require them to publicly debate and defend their personal and family's beliefs about "boundaries" and require them to take part in activities that violate their religious beliefs upon penalty of social ostracism. Among other things, the children are instructed to write their own personal boundaries on paper, the papers are collected and then anonymously redistributed to the class.
"The Albemarle County Public Schools must sever its relationship with Planned Parenthood's shocking assault on children," said Mat Staver, Liberty Counsel's founder and chairman. "This kind of gutter trash has no place in public schools. This is not education. This is raping children. The school district has caused irreversible harm to children and parents. The school must never allow this to happen again."

How to Serve God When You're Not Called to 'Real' Ministry

Join us on our podcast each weekday for an interesting story, well told, from Charisma News. Listen at charismapodcastnetwork.com.

Life.Church recently launched an initiative so people could use their talents can serve the body of Christ.
Open Digitari is an open-source network that will empower designers, developers and engineers to collaborate, develop and improve technologies that will revolutionize the church and change the world.
"We are constantly thinking about what more we can do and what else we can give away for free to help advance the kingdom," says Terry Storch, Life.Church director of Digerati. "Open Digerati comes from that same spirit of generosity and builds on that foundation. This isn't just an opportunity, it's a responsibility. We believe we're called to steward the gifts, talents and influence we have to bring people together as God does something truly special."
Open Digitari officially launched earlier this year with partners like Compassion International, YouVersion and Rock RMS, who are distributing various tools.
The Compassion project, for example, is a tool that allows users to import various data (via .csv, json, api, xml and so on) and cleanse the data to a common structure and field formatting that could be used with Tableau or other BI tools. In plain English, that means the tool will make it easier for churches and companies alike to create visual representations of data analytics to help in decision making.
Other projects offer a host of developer tools including website design, maintenance, app development and server administration.
The people behind the code are not stereotypical ministers, but they are just as called to serve.
"So often, people think that 'real ministry' means going into full-time ministry or traveling abroad," Storch says. "While some are called to do those things, I want people to understand they can do ministry from wherever God has placed them. He has given each of us gifts and talents that we can and should use for His kingdom. So my biggest hope for this initiative is that we can help people connect the dots and see that they can make an impact just by doing what they do every day, for the kingdom. There's a reason God puts people in the positions they're in and gives them the talents He gives them. And together, each of us playing the role we're meant to play can help change the world for the better."
The platform fuels the Great Commission in new and innovative ways.
"There are more people alive today than at any other point in history," Storch says. "We're in the midst of a population spike, and the curve keeps increasing. What's interesting is that access to technology is increasing at the same time. More than ever before, we are able to connect billions of people around the world through technology. What a unique opportunity we've been given at this point in time. Individually, we can build all kinds of things for the good of the kingdom. But imagine what we could do if experts in their field, who are passionate about advancing the kingdom of God, came together as the body of Christ. What might we build together for God's glory? I believe we were born now for such a time as this."
Where centuries past saw missionaries hopping on boats to spread the Good News, these modern-day missionaries have adapted the gospel message to beam around the globe. By bringing these tech-based workers together, Open Digitari has created a new mission field.
"We're able to go and make disciples in ways that weren't possible in the past," Storch says. "And God is working through these efforts more powerfully than we even dreamed was possible. It's amazing and humbling to think about how God is working through the church with the use of technology to make it easier for people to come to know Him."

'That Was the Last Time I Saw Him’: Franklin Graham Opens Up About Final Moments with his Father
04-26-2018
CBN News Emily Jones
Evangelist Franklin Graham opened up about his father's legacy and the private memories he cherishes
in an exclusive interview with TBN that aired Thursday evening.

Sitting in his father's personal office in Charlotte, North Carolina, Franklin Graham reflected on the
last moments he had with his father.

"I was with him the Sunday before he died and the last few years he'd been real quiet. He didn't say
much. His mind was good because every now and then he would respond," Graham told TBN's Matt
His 7 Best Quotes About Heaven

'Ambassador for Christ': America's Leaders Pay Historic Honor to Billy Graham

Though Rev. Billy Graham mostly sat in silence, Franklin said his father let him know he was cold
that Sunday because his hand was shaking.

"I went and got him a blanket and put it up on his chest and around his neck and in about five minutes
his hand quit shaking and he began to lightly snore like he was asleep. And I prayed for him and that
was the last time I saw him," Graham said.

After Billy Graham died on February 21, 2018, America's most powerful leaders honored him at
the nation’s capitol and at his funeral service in North Carolina. Among those leaders were
President Donald Trump and First Lady Melania Trump.

Graham considered asking President Trump to speak at his father's service, but both agreed it would
be best to honor Billy Graham's life in another way.

"We all felt it would be more powerful if the president came and like everyone else watched and
participated from his seat," Graham explained. "It was just the family that spoke."

While Billy Graham traveled the globe praying with world leaders and serving as a spiritual mentor
to many of America's presidents, Franklin Graham only knew him as "daddy."

"It really wasn't until I was a teenager that I really began to understand or comprehend not just the
message that my father preached, but there was as special anointing on his life that came just from
God," he explained.

Though in his later years Billy Graham didn't have the strength to preach, Franklin says he never
stopped ministering.

"Even though he was at home and not able to preach anymore, I think his ministry was prayer.
I think he was not only praying for the children, but for the president, for our country," Graham shared.

Some have wondered if Billy Graham's death would change the Billy Graham Evangelistic Association
However, Franklin says he will continue spreading the same gospel message his father devoted his life to.

"Of course, the Billy Graham Evangelistic Association isn't going to stop," he said. "We're not going
to redefine it. We're not going to give it a new direction. We're going to keep doing what my father
did for so many years, and that's to use every means available to preach the gospel."

'Censorship Is Not a Hoax': Diamond and Silk Testify in
Congress About Facebook Bias
04-26-2018
CBN News Benjamin Gill
The pro-Trump, conservative, social media personalities known as "Diamond and Silk" claim Facebook has treated them like they’re a danger to the world. Facebook denies it, but the two women report the social media
giant launched a campaign of "bias censorship and discrimination" against their D&S brand page
On Thursday they testified before Congress, passionately defending their claim and bashing the
tech giant.

"Facebook along with other social media sites have taken aggressive actions to silence conservative
voices such as ourselves by deliberately restricting and weaponizing our page with algorithms that
censored and suppress our free speech," the women said.

"We've also noticed how someone with a liberal point of view that spewed hate against the
President can garner up to 19 million views with only 539,000 followers, yet we have 1.2 million
followers and only received 13,000 views on our video."

Social media outlets like Facebook and Twitter refused to send a witness to testify at the House
hearing which is called "Filtering Practices of Social Media Platforms."

In addition to Diamond and Silk, the hearing includes testimony from Republican Rep. Marsha
Blackburn; Electronic Frontier Foundation Legal Director Corynne McSherry; News Media Alliance
CEO David Chavern; and New York Law School Innovation Center for Law and Technology
Director Ari Waldman.

"Censorship is not a hoax, it’s real. It is wrong for these social media giants to suppress and
disregard people by diminishing and denying them their free speech. If social media is supposed
to be a place for all idea(s) or to express idea(s) then algorithms and tactic(s) should not be in
place to suppress some idea(s)," Diamond and Silk state.
