'Emmaus Code' Proves This About Jesus

One of my favorite C.S. Lewis quotes points out, as only Lewis could, that Jesus was either the Messiah (and the Son of God) as prophesied in the ancient Jewish Scriptures, or He was a liar, a lunatic or, worse, the "devil of hell."
Wrote Lewis: "I am trying here to prevent anyone saying the really foolish thing that people often say about Him: I'm ready to accept Jesus as a great moral teacher, but I don't accept his claim to be God. That is the one thing we must not say. A man who was merely a man and said the sort of things Jesus said would not be a great moral teacher. He would either be a lunatic—on the level with the man who says he is a poached egg—or else he would be the Devil of Hell. You must make your choice. Either this man was, and is, the Son of God, or else a madman or something worse. You can shut him up for a fool, you can spit at him and kill him as a demon or you can fall at his feet and call him Lord and God, but let us not come with any patronizing nonsense about his being a great human teacher. He has not left that open to us. He did not intend to."
Indeed, to my Jewish friends, I say this: We Christ followers love your Messiah. And make no mistake about it, Jesus is your Messiah. He is our Messiah. He is the Messiah. Messiah means savior, and Jesus is the Savior of all mankind.
To be sure, if both Christ's words and the Holy Spirit-inspired teachings throughout both the Old and New Testaments are to be believed, and they are, then Christianity and Judaism are not competing religions at odds with one another. Rather, Christianity merely represents the final culmination of Judaism, and Christ's promised incarnation, death and resurrection, the fulfillment of the long-awaited Jewish Messiah prophesied throughout the Old Testament.
In his latest book, The Emmaus Code: Finding Jesus in the Old Testament, author and attorney David Limbaugh thoroughly unpacks this reality and "unlocks the mysteries of the Old Testament and reveals hints of Jesus Christ's arrival through all 39 Old Testament books."
"The key to the secrets of the Old Testament, Limbaugh argues, is the crucial New Testament encounter between the risen Jesus and two travelers on the road to Emmaus," notes the book's description. "With that key, and with Limbaugh as a deft guide, readers of The Emmaus Code will come to a startling new understanding of the Old Testament as a clear and powerful heralding of Jesus Christ's arrival. Limbaugh takes readers on a revealing journey from Genesis through Malachi, demonstrating that a consistent message courses through every one of the Old Testament's 39 books: the power, wonder and everlasting love of Jesus Christ."
The Emmaus Code is a project that God long ago placed on Limbaugh's heart.
"Jesus is prophesied in the Old Testament and fulfills those prophecies in the New Testament," he writes. "For years, I have wanted to write a book to share my enthusiasm for the Old Testament and explain how it is foundational to the New Testament as the first act of a two-act play. I have wanted to show the many ways Christ is foreshadowed in the Old Testament.
"My new book, The Emmaus Code: Finding Jesus in the Old Testament, is the culmination of a project I began some 20 years ago. In the book, I try to demonstrate that the Christ-centeredness of the Old Testament is the key to understanding all of Scripture. The book is a primer on the Old Testament. I take you through each period of Old Testament history, introduce and discuss all the threads and themes pointing to Jesus in the Old Testament, and finally give you an overview of each book of the Old Testament and detail how each one prefigures Jesus Christ.
"My goal is to increase the reader's appreciation for the Old Testament and for its Christ-centeredness, for once we have a better handle on the Old Testament and understand that Jesus is its focus, the Bible will come alive for us in ways we never anticipated, and our faith will be strengthened and energized. That is certainly my experience, and I pray the same thing happens for you."
Having just finished the book, I can say with enthusiastic certainty that Limbaugh accomplishes his goal. He demonstrates, like the trial lawyer proving his case beyond any reasonable doubt, that Jesus is not just hinted at in the Old Testament, but that His presence permeates the ancient Jewish texts. As John 1:1 reminds us, "In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God."
Christ is the Word, and the Word is God.
The Emmaus Code will change your whole perspective on the Bible. The Old Testament will come to life for you, and you will see clearly, perhaps for the first time, that its primary purpose was, and is, the foretelling of the coming of Christ Jesus.
When Jesus asked the apostle Peter, "Who do you say I am?" Peter answered, "You are the Christ, the Son of the living God" (Matt. 16:15-16).
"Jesus answered him, 'Blessed are you, Simon son of Jonah, for flesh and blood has not revealed this to you, but My Father who is in heaven'" (Matt. 16:17).
Christ points to Himself as the Old Testament Messiah.
David Limbaugh establishes, masterfully, the veracity of Christ's claim.

Today's Israel Inspiration

During the Exodus, a ‘pillar of cloud’ protected the Children of Israel from the shooting arrows of the Egyptians in hot pursuit. Today we celebrate the mighty sacrifices and bravery of the soldiers of the IDF, shielding Israel from its enemies. May the God of Israel continue to protect His people through His pillar of defense like He did for us long ago!

Exclusive: Marco Rubio's Detailed Faith Confession to a Pastor's Group - DAVID BRODY/CBN NEWS CHARISMA NEWS

Marco Rubio

Florida Senator Marco Rubio, a Republican running for the 2016 GOP Presidential nomination, shared intimate details of his faith with a group of pastors in Iowa recently, CBN's David Brody reports. (Reuters file photo)

Exclusive: Marco Rubio's Detailed Faith Confession to a Pastor's Group

In video obtained exclusively by The Brody File, Marco Rubio provided a stirring and moving explanation of the gospel along with illuminating the significance of Jesus Christ in his life in front of dozens of Iowa pastors during a closed-door meeting in Iowa last week.  It is a MUST WATCH video.

Rubio is Roman Catholic but he and his family also attend (from time to time) Christ Fellowship, a non-denominational evangelical church in the Miami area. "I didn't learn about the Catholic Church until I went to a non-Catholic church (Christ Fellowship) and became infused in the Bible and became infused in the written word of God and then, and only then did the liturgy of the church start even making sense," Rubio told the pastors. "I am fully, theologically and doctrinally aligned with the Roman Catholic Church and we attend it. But we retain our relationship with Christ fellowship and I'll tell you why: because they preach from the same Bible."
As for presenting the gospel, he didn't hold back and thoroughly enjoyed talking about Jesus. "Imagine the fear of knowing you're about to be scourged, nailed to a cross, hung naked, humiliated, spit upon, rejected by your friends," Rubio told the pastors. "There is nothing that we will ever face that He did not face times infinite amount. To me, that is the personal relationship. It's a personal relationship with a God that knows anything we faced because He faced it more than we are able going to be able to face it."
He continues: "It (your faith) has to be infused by the Holy Spirit because the gift of the Holy Spirit is transformative... it's not just about having a relationship with Jesus, it's about allowing the Spirit to infuse you, to completely control you and guide you."
Rubio uses Peter's life as an example of being infused with the Holy Spirit. "Peter was s deeply flawed man, impulsive, angry, given to judgment. God turned his weakness into his strength. Peter saw Jesus walk around and he dove at Him. Lunged at Him because that's how impulsive he was. They came to arrest Jesus in the garden, first thing he  (Peter) did, pulls out the knife and cuts Malchus' ear off. Impulsive.
But once he was infused in the Spirit, that impulsiveness was used as a tool for God's plan. All the gifts that God had given him that at one time were a liability God turned into strength. And so that's where the Spirit comes to play in our life. We are all gifted with different things, and they could very well be a weakness today, but God can turn that into strength."
The Brody File had exclusive access inside this meeting with pastors in Iowa. He held two private closed sessions, one in Cedar Rapids and one in Des Moines. Between the two meetings, he probably spoke to about one hundred pastors or so. The meeting was arranged by the influential American Renewal Project. Their purpose is to return America to its Judeo-Christian principles and is currently in the process of recruiting hundreds of pastors to run for political office around the country. Ted Cruz, Mike Huckabee and Bobby Jindal are some of the presidential candidates that have spoken at their events.
You can watch the video below along with a partial transcription.
Rubio's explanation of the gospel is a thing of beauty and after he was finished, he left pastors in the room thoroughly impressed with not just his head knowledge about the Bible but his heart as well.  He changed some minds after those sessions with pastors. He showed an authentic faith walk and these pastors liked what they saw. Watching this below will not disappoint. This man knows his Bible and theology for sure.
I'll have a complete report on our inside access with Rubio and the pastors this Wednesday on The 700 Club. My story will air nationwide and will also include clips from my one-on-one interview as well. Rubio is really starting to make a concerted outreach to evangelicals and evangelicals are definitely intrigued the more they hear him speak.
There are two versions below. The longer version is first and includes his faith upbringing. The second version is Rubio's gospel presentation only.

Question from evangelical pastor: "You're in a room full of Christians and you mentioned God and you mentioned the King of Kings but tell us about your experience with the Lord Jesus Christ using that name...and also tell us what you'll do to ensure our right to use that name in public."
Marco Rubio: "I've always been interested in theology, even as a child. One of the reasons we left the Mormon Church and went back to Catholicism was at my instigation. I became interested in the theology of the Catholic Church, learned about it as well as a 13 year old can before the Internet, and decided I wanted to go back to it for a lot of different reasons. And yet I still didn't fully understand my faith and I've said this publicly, I think too many Catholics don't fully understand their faith. The result is I didn't learn about the Catholic Church until I went to a non-Catholic church and became infused in the Bible and became infused in the written word of God and then, and only then did the liturgy of the church start even making sense.
I started to begin to understand the richness of the church and so today I am fully, theologically and doctrinally aligned with the Roman Catholic Church and we attend it. But we retain our relationship with Christ fellowship and I'll tell you why: because they preach from the same Bible."
Marco Rubio: "As far my relationship with Jesus Christ the best way I've been able to describe it to people that are not believers is God became a man, came down to earth and died for our sins. He provided the ultimate sacrifice because up to that point we lived under the law and the law meant that we had to sacrifice an unblemished lamb to cover our sins, not erase them. God was the ultimate sacrifice. It was His own son. In essence, He was willing to do what He didn't ask Abraham to do, almost asked Abraham to do but at the last second spared Abraham that pain.
God was willing to sacrifice His own son and just imagine how painful that was and He became a man and the reason that He had to become a man was not just the element of becoming a man and dying for our sins as the ultimate Pascal lamb that as a result didn't cover our sins but completely erased them, but also because He's a God that understands us. He has felt everything we've ever felt. He has wept. He wept in pain because a friend that He loved died. He felt compassion for people. He probably had the flu or the cold. He felt pain in his flesh not just on his crucifixion but multiple times throughout His life. He was a human being in every way and yet He was free of sin.
So, there is nothing that we're going to be asked to do in life that He didn't do himself. One thing is to be a distant God that sits on a throne removed from the everyday suffering of man; another is to be a God-Man who actually lived as we lived, who felt all the pain and all the hurt and all the emotions and everything we've ever felt. Jesus had fear, not fear in an unbiblical way but He knew what was about to happen to him and He prayed that if it was possible could this cup pass? How many times have we made that prayer? And obviously it wasn't facing crucifixion.
It could be like, 'God, if I could get out of this ticket. I just got pulled over. If you can get me out of this ticket this one time, I won't speed again.' Well, imagine the fear of knowing you're about to be scourged, nailed to a cross, hung naked, humiliated, spit upon, rejected by your friends. There is nothing that we will ever face that He did not face times infinite amount. To me, that is the personal relationship. It's a personal relationship with a God that knows anything we faced because He faced it more than we are able going to be able to face it.
There is no fear, no emotion, no worry, no anxiety, no obstacle, no adversity that He didn't face before we did, and in fact, much more so. And so that's how you have a personal faith and then it has to be infused by the Holy Spirit because the gift of the Holy Spirit is transformative. Peter was s deeply flawed man, impulsive, angry, given to judgment.
We are all gifted with different things, and they could very well be a weakness today, but God can turn that into strength. And so it's not just about having a relationship with Jesus, it's about allowing the Spirit to infuse you, to completely control you and guide you and the end result of all this is what in Catholicism, we have this thing in our liturgy 'peace be with you.'
A lot of people think 'peace' means like, 'peace' (Rubio throws up the peace sign), like the hippie peace, or peace like no one's shooting at each other, or peace like everything's happy.  That's not peace. True peace is it doesn't matter what's happening. The winds could be swirling and Jesus is asleep on the boat, not worried about a thing, that's peace. The peace is in knowing that two things are going to happen anytime you face adversity: One is God is going to shield you from the adversity; he's going to protect you from it. And the other is God's going to make you go through the adversity, but He's going to give you what you need to get through it.
And if you honestly believe that, and that's hard to believe. You can't force yourself to believe it. You have to pray for that. That is a gift. That is a fruit of the Spirit. If you honestly believe, if you truly become to have that, then you have this supernatural peace that can only come from the Spirit. I know I've gone too long, now I sound like the preacher so let me close with this, I apologize, but I rarely get to talk about this at campaign events.
The thing about that peace that's so important is, I honestly believe, it was a major contributor to the growth of the early church. The early church grew in a pagan world, and despite the fact that everyone knew if you become a Christian, they feed you to lions; you know Nero set them on fire like torches. Terrible suffering. And yet people kept joining.
And I am convinced, this is not necessarily deeply biblical, but I am convinced, you may disagree with me, but I am convinced that one of the things that got so many pagans to become Christians is they looked at the Christians and said: 'What is up with these people? They're being fed to lions and they're singing for joy. They're being led to their death, and they're happy. There's something wrong with these people. I need to find out what's going on with them.
Why is that they have so much peace because we keep praying to our Gods, and we never have peace. What is it about these people?' And when that peace is true in you, people want to know about you. They're curious what is it about you? What does that person have because I want some of that, and that's how you bring so many people to the faith. It really is."

Tracy Morgan: God Spoke to Me in My Coma

Celebrities and fans alike united their hearts in prayer when actor and comedian Tracy Morgan lay in a coma after a devastating car wreck nearly took his life a year ago.
Now, Morgan opened up to Complex about how God spoke to him while he was away from the world, opening his heart and mind to things above.
"You don't die for a few weeks and then come back to normal, trust me," Morgan says. "Something's going to be missing, something's going to be gained—you just got to live your life after that. But after surviving something like that, I'm probably never going to feel normal. I went to the other side. This is not something I'm making up."
Something else Morgan says he's not making up? He says God told him there was more he needed to accomplish here on Earth.
"Do you know what God said to me?" Morgan asked. "He said, 'Your room ain't ready. I still got something for you to do.'"
It looks like God heard the prayers sent out via social media with the #prayfortracymorgan. After his June 2014 car wreck, Morgan returned to the Saturday Night Live stage at the end of October.

The Final Pieces are Coming into Place. Don't Give Up! by Gretchen Rodriguez - Identity Network

The Final Pieces are Coming into Place. Don't Give Up! by Gretchen Rodriguez  - Identity Network

Imagine if today were the day you received that breakthrough you've been praying for.
Go ahead - imagine.
Close your eyes and picture what it would be like. How would you react? Would you celebrate? Would you cry in relief? What would it feel like to finally have the answer to that prayer for finances, health, family, ministry...? The list is endless, but deeply personal to the one who's been believing God for a resolution.
Did you allow your imagination to take you to that moment, or did you scoff? So many of us have been believing God for things that feel as though they are never going to happen. Just because it hasn't happened yet, doesn't mean it won't happen. I understand what it's like to be afraid of stirring your hope; to believe again.

But giving up is definitely not the answer! As my pastor, Bill Johnson, says, "Your greatest breakthrough is on the other side of adversity." The greater the opposition to the breakthrough, the sweeter it will be once it happens. The Lord is inviting you to release doubt and disappointment, and allow hope and faith to flood your being.
Anything is Possible
I'm here to encourage you today that anything is possible with God!
This year (2015) Yom Kippur (a Jewish time of repentance) coincided with the Year of Jubilee (which happens once every 50 years). Jubilee was a time of celebration when debts were forgiven, slaves set free, and all land was restored to its original owner, whether it was stolen, sold, etc. Before I knew anything about it being Jubilee, my spirit was jumping with excitement.  The Lord spoke to me and told me to get excited, because He was bringing surprises. I knew it wasn't only for me, but for the Body of Christ! He told me to stop looking at the circumstances and start anticipating the answer - to start thanking Him in advance. He told me that it would be even better than we've been imagining. This is our time of Jubilee! If you feel hopeless, the Lord wants to breathe hope within you. Just ask Him!
Focus
Right now everything may feel like it's being shaken and sifted, but don't let it scare you. It's just those final pieces coming into place - it is the enemy being crushed beneath the core of your faith. Keep your eyes focused on Him. Refuse to allow these last attempts to scare you out of faith and knock you off course. I see the Lord holding your face between His strong, yet gentle hands, and looking intently in your eyes. He's saying, "Focus on Me. I've got this."
What did it feel like when you imagined your breakthrough? Pretty good, I bet! The Lord wants you to start celebrating in advance, especially on the days when opposition is screaming in your face. I also want to encourage you to ask the Lord for Wisdom. Many will be receiving breakthroughs that are much bigger than anticipated, and in order to navigate them well, you must have God's Wisdom.
This is our time! Let's celebrate!

World War III Draws Closer As Russia Accuses Turkey Of Being ‘Secret Allies’ With ISIS - Michael Synder THE ECONOMIC COLLAPSE BLOG

2S19 Msta-S - Photo from Wikimedia Commons

Nov 2015 Michael Synder  THE ECONOMIC COLLAPSE BLOG

Are Russia and Turkey on the verge of going to war?  In remarks that were almost entirely ignored by the western media, Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov accused the Turkish government of being “secret allies” with ISIS on Friday.  And on Monday, the Russians announced that they would be attempting to seal the border between Syria and Turkey, and we also learned that the Russians have been rushing heavy artillery units into Syria.  As tensions between Russia and Turkey continue to escalate, could we be in danger of seeing World War III erupt in the Middle East?

The Russians have clearly become convinced that Turkey is at the core of the problems in Syria, and that is why the Russians now plan to completely seal Syria’s border with Turkey.  Lavrov seems to think that this will represent a giant step toward defeating terror groups such as ISIS…
“We are convinced that by blocking the border we will in many respects solve the tasks to eradicate terrorism on Syrian soil.”
And the Russians are right about this.  ISIS militants use Turkey as a home base, and it has been documented that Turkey has been “training ISIS militants, funneling weapons to them, buying their oil, and tending to their wounded in Turkish hospitals”.

It was already common knowledge that Turkey was doing all of these things, but now the Russian government is publicly accusing the Turkish government of being “secret allies” with ISIS.  When Lavrov chose to use these words on Friday, he knew exactly what he was saying…
“We think it highly cynical when some of the countries speak about their commitment to the corresponding United Nations Security Council resolutions and declare themselves members of anti-terrorist coalitions but in reality are playing a game where terrorists are allocated the role of secret allies,” Lavrov stressed. “We have more and more questions about Ankara’s real plans and the degree of its readiness to exterminate terrorism, in particular in Syria, and its commitment to the normalization of the situation in Syria.”
So why would Turkey want to be allies with ISIS?

Well, first of all the Turkish government hates the Assad regime in Syria and would love to see it eliminated.
Secondly, ISIS has been selling hundreds of millions of dollars worth of stolen oil in Turkey, and it has been alleged that the Turkish president’s own family is involved.

This was all supposed to be on the down low, but now the Russians are extremely angry and they are airing this dirty laundry for all the world to see.  On Monday, Vladimir Putin said that his government had “received additional information” that ISIS is shipping oil to Turkey on an “industrial scale”
Russia has received additional intelligence confirming that oil from deposits controlled by Islamic State is moved through Turkey on an industrial scale, said Vladimir Putin. President Recep Erdogan said he will resign if this is confirmed.
Moscow has grounds to suspect that the Su-24 was downed by Turkish jets on November 24 to secure illegal oil deliveries from Syria to Turkey, he said speaking on the sidelines of the climate change summit in Paris on Monday.
At the moment we have received additional information confirming that that oil from the deposits controlled by Islamic State militants enters Turkish territory on industrial scale,” he said.
We have every reason to believe that the decision to down our plane was guided by a desire to ensure security of this oil’s delivery routes to ports where they are shipped in tankers,” Putin said.
And of course it isn’t just the Russians that are making these claims.

Mowaffak al Rubaie is a former member of the Iraqi Governing Council, and he says that sales of ISIS oil in Turkey have amounted to approximately 100 million dollars a month
In the last eight months ISIS has managed to sell … $800 million dollars worth of oil on the black market of Turkey. This is Iraqi oil and Syrian oil, carried by trucks from Iraq, from Syria through the borders to Turkey and sold …[at] less than 50 percent of the international oil price,” Mowaffak al Rubaie said in an interview with RT.
“Now this either get consumed inside, the crude is refined on Turkish territory by the Turkish refineries, and sold in the Turkish market. Or it goes to Jihan and then in the pipelines from Jihan to the Mediterranean and sold to the international market.”
“Money and dollars generated by selling Iraqi and Syrian oil on the Turkish black market  is like the oxygen supply to ISIS and it’s operation,” he added. “Once you cut the oxygen then ISIS will suffocate.”
You can’t sell 100 million dollars of stolen oil a month without the U.S. government knowing about it.
That means that Barack Obama has been fully aware of what has been going on, and he hasn’t told the American people the truth.

One of the reasons for his silence could be the fact that the president of Turkey’s own son has been involved.  Just check out what Syrian Information Minister Omran al-Zoubi said just the other day
“All of the oil was delivered to a company that belongs to the son of Recep [Tayyip] Erdogan. This is why Turkey became anxious when Russia began delivering airstrikes against the IS infrastructure and destroyed more than 500 trucks with oil already. This really got on Erdogan and his company’s nerves. They’re importing not only oil, but wheat and historic artefacts as well.”
For much more on all of this, please see my previous article entitled “The Biggest Obama Scandal? He Knows That Turkey Is Buying Oil From ISIS And He Is Doing Nothing To Stop It“.

Previously, the Russians had promised not to commit ground forces in Syria, but now that appears to be changing.
According to Debka, the Russians have already deployed three battalions of 2S19 Msta-S self-propelled howitzers at this point…
First, a body of three battalions of 2S19 Msta-S self-propelled howitzers was deployed at Khmeimin and has already started pounding rebel lines and command centers in the area. This heavy artillery system, capable of firing 152mm bombs at a rapid pace, is a veteran of Russia’s former campaigns against Islamic terrorist groups, especially in the Russian war against Islamic rebels in Chechnya in the 1990s.
In addition to the 2S19 Msta-S self-propelled howitzers, the Russians have also brought in TOS-1 220mm multiple rocket launchers
Another heavy weapons system that Russia brought to Syria in recent days is the TOS-1 220mm multiple rocket launcher. This system, which is mounted on the chassis of a T-72 tank, has been deployed near the embattled Syrian cities of Hama and Homs.
With each passing day, we seem to be inching ever closer to the start of World War III.

And it is important to keep in mind that if war does break out, Turkey is a member of NATO, and so the U.S. would be obligated by treaty to help defend the Turks.

So let’s keep a close eye on what is happening in the Middle East, because it could end up having tremendous implications for all of us.

Jewish Women of the Orient 100-150 Years Ago

Last year, Israel's Knesset designated November 30 as the memorial day to commemorate the expulsion of Jews from Arab countries and Iran. Flourishing ancient communities were forced to flee anti-Semitic persecution, deadly pogroms, and confiscation of property.  An estimated 850,000 fled, most of them to Israel.

Historic photographs of the Jewish communities and individuals serve to remind us of the rich heritage they left behind.

Maison Bonfils studio was established in Beirut in 1867 and produced thousands of photographs from all over the Middle East.  Some of the most important pictures of Jewish holy sites in Jerusalem were taken through Bonfils' lenses.

Lebanese collector Fouad Debbas amassed some 3,000 Bonfils photographs.  When he died in 2001, his collection faced possible dispersal, deterioration, or worse.  The British Library's Endangered Archives Programme stepped in to save the collection, digitize it and post the pictures online.

In the British Library's honor, we present these Bonfils photos of Jewish women of the Middle East. We estimate they were taken in the last decades of the 19th century.
