Standing With Israel
In a previous article on this page titled, "Messianic Believers: No Separation from Jewish Roots," I wrote about what it means to be a Messianic Jewish believer in Yeshua. Now, we'll look at the other side of the ledger.
If you were not born Jewish and you believe in Yeshua, you are a "Messianic Gentile." Mazel Tov (congratulations), and welcome to the family! That being said, just as there are misconceptions about Jewish believers, there are also some mistaken beliefs about Gentile believers in Messiah that need to be clarified.
First, what is a "Gentile?" The word Gentile simply means "one of the nations," and is derived from the Latin gens meaning "nation."
This is a direct parallel to the Hebrew word for nation, goy (plural, "goyim"). Unfortunately, just as anti-Semites use the word Jew in a negative manner, the word Gentile or goy is often mistakenly thought of as a synonym for "pagan or "anti-Semite." Also, many Jewish people see the word Gentile as being synonymous with "Christian."
Before Yeshua came and was proclaimed among the nations, the customary way for Gentiles to get right with God was to become a proselyte, or convert, to Judaism. All non-Jews at that time were considered pagans since they were not permitted into the Temple to make the appropriate sacrifices for their sins. Therefore in Matthew's account Yeshua said,
"But when you pray, do not use vain repetitions, as the heathen do. For they think that they will be heard for their much speaking" (Matthew 6:7).
"If he refuses to listen to them, tell it to the church. But if he refuses to listen even to the church, let him be to you as a Gentile and a tax collector" (Matt. 18:17).
At the time of His earthly ministry, Yeshua's disciples were all Jews, and as such, they believed that the religion of truth was the Jewish religion. Gentiles, by definition, were not part of "the people of God," and were considered outside of the Jewish faith (Eph. 2:11-12). Today however, because of the apostasy of traditional Judaism, it is more accurate to call our Messianic faith "biblical faith" rather than the "Jewish faith."
Though conversion to Judaism was at one time the only way for Gentiles to be accepted into the biblical faith, during His ministry Yeshua "hinted" at the inclusion of the Gentiles into the people of God (John 10:16), but even here gives only a hint. For Yeshua at that time to clearly mention Gentiles as co-heirs with Jews would have been distracting to His disciples. Since many people identified Gentiles with paganism, this truth regarding Gentiles being accepted as co-heirs with Jewish believers in Yeshua awaited further and future revelation.
A common question brought up in regards to this matter is, "Are Gentiles still Gentiles after coming to faith in Messiah Yeshua, or do they become 'spiritual Jews?'"
When Paul was writing to the congregation in Rome, he addressed the non-Jewish believers there by saying,"But I am speaking to you who are Gentiles" (Rom. 11:13). Just as Paul referred to himself in Acts 22:3 and in Romans 11:1 in the present tense as a "Jew" and as an "Israelite", so he now refers to the non-Jewish believers in the present tense as "Gentiles." In other words, though they are saved and are brethren in the faith (Rom. 1:13; 11:25), they are still Gentiles—that is, non-Jews, and that is okay!
In Messiah, Gentiles are truly co-heirs with Jewish believers, but this does not mean that either group loses their personal identity. Read Galatians 3:28 carefully: "There is neither Jew nor Greek, there is neither slave nor free, and there is neither male nor female, for you are all one in Christ Jesus."
Faith in Yeshua does not change a person's cultural, national or ethnic identity any more than faith would change their gender or the color of their skin. As surely as Jews remain Jews when they come to faith in Yeshua (Acts 22:3), so also do Gentiles remain Gentiles after coming to faith in Yeshua.
This is good news, and in it we see that God loves diversity. Of course He does; He created it, and has redeemed it! Our unity is not experienced through uniformity, and our diversity does not necessarily bring division. The reality of our unity is based upon the truth of who Yeshua is and what He has actually done for all who believe in Him. This reality of our unity in Yeshua is experienced as we live out our faith in Him and love one another. Our unity amidst diversity brings greater glory to God as His life is manifested trans-culturally and trans-ethnically (Rev. 5:9).
This unique unity demonstrates grace and love through Yeshua as the spiritual way and witness of peace and harmony in the world:
"A new commandment I give to you, that you love one another, even as I have loved you, that you also love one another. By this all men will know that you are My disciples, if you have love for one another." (John 13:34-35).

UPDATE: Palestinian Terrorist Butchers Jewish Teenage Girl - Israel Today

UPDATE: Palestinian Terrorist Butchers Jewish Teenage Girl

Thursday, June 30, 2016 |  Israel Today Staff
A Palestinian terrorist on Thursday morning snuck into the outskirts of the Jewish town of Kiryat Arba in Judea, broke into an outlying house and stabbed 13-year-old Hallel Yaffe Ariel to death as she lay in bed.
A local response team was already aware of the infiltration, and stormed the house after hearing Hallel's screams.
One of the first responders found the girl covered in blood and began to administer CPR, but was jumped and stabbed by the terrorist. The rest of the team arrived moments later and shot the terrorist dead, but also accidentally hit the first responder helping Hallel,
The wounded first responder is listed in moderate condition.
Hallel, who was not breathing and had no pulse, was rushed to a hospital in Jerusalem, but doctors were unable to save her life.

Joel C. Rosenberg's Blog: Is an unprecedented spiritual revival happening in the Muslim World? My interview with CBN News.

CBN-MuslimsTurningToChristJoel C. Rosenberg's Blog

Is an unprecedented spiritual revival happening in the Muslim World? My interview with CBN News.

by joelcrosenberg
"Is there an unprecedented spiritual revival taking place in the Islamic world?"
I was recently asked this question during an interview with the Christian Broadcasting Network. The answer, remarkably, is a resounding "Yes." Millions of Muslims have, in fact, been leaving Islam and turning to faith in Jesus Christ. It's a dramatic trend I've been writing about on this blog (see hereherehere and here), and one that deserves more far more attention and detailed reporting.
Here are excerptsBest-selling author Joel Rosenberg recently spoke to CBN News about the incredible revival in the Muslim world. He cites a 19-page peer-reviewed study detailing the unprecedented wave of Muslims who are coming to Christ.
"From 1960 to 2010, the number of Muslims that have converted to faith in Jesus Christ has grown from fewer than 200,000 to some 10 million people" Rosenberg said, citing the study.
Rosenberg says the increase of Muslims converts to Christ could correlate to the turmoil in the Middle East.
"A lot as happened in the last fifty years in the Middle East. There's a lot of revolutions, war, turmoil, poverty, and what I think is happening, especially in the last 10-15 years, is many Muslims are deeply uncomfortable with the idea that ISIS, or Iran's leadership, or Assad are the type of people that represent Islam."
Many Muslims are finding their questions answered through dreams and visions about Christ.
"God is moving very powerfully using dreams and visions Muslims are having of the Man in white, of Jesus Himself," Rosenberg says.
But even though God is revealing Himself to Muslims through dreams and visions, Christians are still fundamental to fulfilling the Great Commission in the Muslim world.
"In a world of 1.6 billion Muslims, we have a long way to go. So if we are going to fulfill the Great Commission and reach every nation with the Gospel, we are going to have to pick up our game and be much more faithful," Rosenberg says...."This is a moment to be praying for them, that God would open their eyes."

Muslim Prays to Allah at Presbyterian Meeting - Ron Cantor, Messiah's Mandate

Ron Cantor

Muhammad is now a Presbyterian—Shocking!

Local Muslim Leader prays to Allah at Presbyterian Gathering

The most recent Presbyterian Church USA meeting acknowledged a new member of sorts—the ‘Prophet’ Muhammad. Wajidi Said was invited to pray to the Muslim God.
Allah bless us and bless our families and bless our Lord. Lead us on the straight path—the path of all prophets: Abraham, Ishmael, Isaac, Moses, Jesus, and Muhammad.”
“In the name of Allah, the beneficent, the merciful, let us praise the Lord… Peace be upon them and peace be upon Allah,” Said continued his prayer at the Presbyterian assembly. He was generous to also lift up the “bigots” and “Islamaphobes.”
He conveniently left out praying for “radical Islamic terrorists” because in our self-denying culture two lies are embraced:
  1. Radical Islamic terrorists are not Muslims, when in fact they are truer to the Koran than moderates. And anyone who thinks that terrorism has anything to do with the Koran (even though 99% of all terrorist attacks last year were perpetrated by those who identify as Muslims) is an “Islamaphobe.”
  2. The attack in Orlando (the reason the Muslim leader was invited to pray at the Presbyterian gathering) was perpetrated by a bigot and a homophobe—not a Islamic terrorist. (Are they going to blame the Turkey attack that killed 40 on the NRA or Homophobes too?)
  3. Did the Presbyterians know about the man who was being compared to Jesus? Here are some facts about the ‘prophet’ Muhammad:
    • He married a six-year-old and consummated the marriage when she was nine.
    • He had sexual relations in the coffin with his dead aunt.
    • He had 11 wives and many more concubines or sex slaves.
    • In all he relations with 61 different women, many whom were raped.
    • He murdered 600-900 Jewish men as young as 13.
    • Owned and sold slaves.
    • Was horribly racist against blacks.
I could go on. The fact is that ISIS and other radical Islamist groups resemble true Islam far more than moderate Islam does. But here we have a supposed evangelical group allowing the false prophet and rapist to be praised next to the names of Moses and Abraham, and lowering Jesus, the Son of God, to the ranks of a notorious murderer. Remember, Peter was rebuked from heaven for comparing Jesus to Moses and Elijah on the mount of transfiguration…imagine God’s response when a mainline denomination puts Him in the same class as a pedophile?
While the leader of the meeting apologized “if anyone was offended,” he stated that the Presbyterians would continue the fight against “the rise in Islamaphobia.” … a fictitious disease that even Microsoft Word says is not a real word. If he really wants to conquer Islamaphophia, then conquer radical Islam, because that is the source.
And it should be noted that during the same gathering, the same folks who embraced a terrorist religion, pressured Remax to ceases doing business in Judea and Samaria (The West Bank) with Jewish landowners.

PRAISE FOR "THE JERUSALEM SECRET"

I ordered the first in this series, "Identity Theft", by mistake thinking it was a Christian Living type book. I don't read fiction, but I thought I might as well read it. Wow! I was pleasantly surprised by it's captivating story filled with historical content about the early church, Jesus and the Jews of Jesus' time. So I waited, and waited, and waited for Ron to write the sequel.☺️ When it finally was available I was excited! "Jerusalem Secret" did not disappoint! It was a great continuation of "The Identity Theft." It was filled with lots of historical content with a fast paced, fun story that had me laughing at times. I think I read that this was suppose to be a trilogy. I hope so, because I want to hear more and see how David moves forward in his new found faith.

Joel C. Rosenberg's Blog: Last August, the ISIS magazine put Turkey in the jihadis’ crosshairs.

Dabiq-Erdogan

Joel C. Rosenberg's Blog

Last August, the ISIS magazine put Turkey in the jihadis’ crosshairs. Now all signs point to ISIS, says Turkish PM, as death toll rises in Istanbul bombings.

by joelcrosenberg
Few Westerners have paid much attention until now, but the Islamic State has put the people and leaders of Turkey -- and particularly Istanbul, which for centuries served as the seat of the Islamic kingdom or "Caliphate" -- in its crosshairs.
These two threats echoed a video ISIS released in the fall of 2014 vowing to "conquer"Turkey and declaring to Erdogan, “Be prepared for the good news, for the time for your rule to end is getting close at the hands of the state of the caliphate.”
Ironically, Erdogan (pronounced "AIR-do-wan") is an increasingly dangerous and authoritarian Islamist himself, and a rising threat to the West, as I noted in a column last month. He is cracking down on journalists who criticize him. He's building close ties with the terrorist leaders of Iran. He provides safe haven for Hamas terror leaders. He has also been allowing foreign fighters cross through Turkey for years to join ISIS and other jihadist groups in Syria and Iraq and, for the most part, turning a blind eye to their presence.
These are some of reasons Turkey plays a key role in my new novel series, including a terrorist bombing in the heart of Istanbul in The Third Target.
But as a member of NATO, a long-time ally of the U.S., and a cooperating partner in the European Union economy, Erdogan isn't nearly Radical enough for the leaders of ISIS. Nor does Erdogan share the fanatic End Times theology driving the leaders of ISIS.
What's more, Turkey has diplomatic ties with the State of Israel, and has actually been working on improving those ties in recent months. Notably, yesterday's savage terror attacks at Istanbul's main international airport came on the same day that Turkey and Israel announced the normalization of diplomatic relations after six years of strains.
In recent months, therefore, ISIS is believed to have been responsible for planning a series of terrorist attacks in Istanbul and other parts of Turkey, though some (fortunately) have been foiled. Earlier this year, for example:
Now, Turkey's new Prime Minister, Binali Yildirim, is telling reporters that all signs point to ISIS being responsible for these latest attacks.
So far, however, ISIS has not formally claimed responsibility.
Meanwhile, the death toll keeps climbing. As of 5pm local time on Wednesday, there were 41 confirmed deaths, as well as at least 239 people wounded. Also dead are the three terrorists involved in the operation, two of whom detonated suicide bombing vests after opening fire with automatic weapons.
Please pray for Turkey.
  • Pray for the Lord to comfort & heal all those injured in & traumatized by the attacks.
  • Pray for the Lord to comfort the families and friends of all those who were killed.
  • Pray for Turkish authorities to get serious in defeating ISIS and protecting their people -- and foreign guests, businesspeople, tourists, etc -- rather than allowing ISIS fighters to transit the country with a free hand.
  • Pray for the Church in Turkey to be bold, loving, compassionate servants to the Turkish people.
  • Pray for the Gospel to be proclaimed to every person in Turkey that they may find the hope, peace, healing, comfort, forgiveness and eternal life only available through faith in the Lord Jesus Christ.
Developing....
