Today's Israel Inspiration

Although the Torah is relatively progressive in its attitude towards women as compared to the surrounding cultures of the time it describes (think Deborah the Judge), there aren’t many female characters in leading roles in the text. Yet here, the women who raised Moses are noted, and later in Moses’s genealogy, three women are described: Moses’s mother, Jochebed, Aaron’s wife, Elisheba, and Aaron’s daughter-in-law, whose name is not given. Why do you think these women in particular are included? What is their significance in Moses’ life? Get the answer in the new Israel Bible Reading Plan, with an exciting curriculum, personal attention, and question-answer forum.

Golda Meir, An Israel Inspiration

Golda Meir joined the long list of Jewish heroines as Israel’s first female prime minister. This video reveals her hopes for the nation, with footage of the early days of the State of Israel.

Students of God Connect Around the World

The Israel Bible Reading Plan began this week with an online classroom instructor, Aliza Abrahamowitz, who deepens the daily learning program with lively discussions and thought-provoking questions.

Honor Diaries

This DVD movie features nine courageous women’s rights advocates with connections to Muslim-majority societies who are engaged in a dialogue about gender inequality. These women, who have witnessed firsthand the hardships women endure, are profiled in their efforts to affect change, both in their communities and beyond.
