Living Where the Tabernacle Once Stood ✡ "Thy Light and Thy Truth" - Israel365

O send out Thy light and Thy truth; let them lead me;
let them bring me unto Thy holy mountain,
and to Thy dwelling-places.

Today's Israel Inspiration

The Tabernacle, in Hebrew ‘mishkan’ from the Hebrew word which means to dwell, was erected in the desert as a temporary dwelling for God, and ultimately found its permanent resting place in the form of the Temple on Mount Moriah. But getting there took some time. Our Sages trace the movement of the ‘mishkan’ in the Land of Israel: 14 years in Gilgal, 369 years in Shiloh, and another 57 years in Nov and Givon. Altogether, it took 440 years from the entry into the Land of Israel until Solomon built the Temple, the permanent resting place for the presence of the Lord. In this psalm, the psalmists asks God for light and truth to help him return back to the holy mountain, to the resting place of the Lord. Although living in the Biblical city is a dream-come-true for many, their lives are not easy as they are surrounded by numerous Palestinian villages and cities and are often targets for terror attacks. Shiloh Israel Children's Fund aims to ease the trauma of terrorism in these young children and rebuild the Biblical heartland of the Holy Land.

Dozens of years excavations at the Biblical Tel Shiloh have revealed countless impressive relics, such as pottery, animal remains, and weapons, among other objects, all of which provide clear-cut evidence that the area was settled as early as the 18th century BCE!

Hello Rabbi Tuly  Please know I have planted a tree and donated for Holocaust victims.  I am a single parent who just became born again. I humbly ask for a prayer from you for a Blessing of Abraham over me and my family. I pray for Israel every day. I have begun to study Hebrew and it is so interesting. I pray for you and your work in Israel. I have had prayers put in the Western Wall as well.  May God bless you and I/we support Israel forever. Amen. Shalom. Christina
