God's Relationship to Man ✡ "For Hashem God Had Not Caused It To Rain Upon The Earth" - ISRAEL365

No shrub of the field was yet in the earth, and no herb of the field had yet sprung up; for Hashem God had not caused it to rain upon the earth, and there was not a man to till the ground;

Today's Israel Inspiration

The land was poised to sprout its seed, but God did not bring forth rain to allow for their growth because there was no man yet to work the land.  God did not bring rain until there was Man to recognize the necessity for rain, and, says the sage Rashi, to pray for rain. The Land of Israel is dependent on adequate rainfall during its short rainy season to produce yearly crops. It is God’s design that the Jews living in Israel strengthen their relationship with God through the daily liturgy requesting adequate rainfall and a successful agricultural season. Since God desires a deep relationship with Man, He incorporated within the natural order the need for dialogue between Man and God. While God requires Man to pray for agricultural success, Man must also take initiative in the planting process. Planting trees in Israel brings life to the Land, and fulfills ancient Biblical prophecies.

An Everlasting Contribution

Rabbi Tuly Weisz and participants of the recent Israel365/Hayovel Israel tour plant trees in the Biblical heartland of Israel. Watch as Kim offers a beautiful prayer for the well-being of the sapling and for the Land.

“Again shalt thou plant vineyards upon the mountains of Shomron; the planters shall plant, and shall have the use thereof.” (Jeremiah 34:1)

In early June, the participants of the HaYovel Rejoice Jerusalem Tour to Israel met with Amnon, a farmer in the community of Bat Ayin, to plant trees.

“Plant a tree in honor of your children and grandchildren“Be not afraid ye beasts of the field; for the pastures of the wilderness do spring for the tree beareth its fruit the fig-tree and the vine do yield their strength.” (Joel 2:22)
