"Stop Looking into the Rear View Mirror and Fast Forward into the Future!"

From the Desk of Steve Shultz:
Steve ShultzAs we have just begun the second month of this year...this is a good reminder for us all. The title itself speaks volumes: "Stop Looking into the Rear View Mirror and Fast Forward into the Future!"

Elaine Tavolacci always has a fresh word from God...and I look forward to reading them. In her latest article she shares this word of the Lord:

The Lord says, "Forget what lies behind. Don't hold on to past memories that will burden you and bring bitterness to your soul. Don't look at yourself the way that you were in the past. You are no longer the man or woman that you once were. Don't reminisce on the good times and the way that you think it should have been. This will hinder you from what is to come."

Don't allow nothing...and I mean absolutely NOTHING...from the rear view mirror to hinder you from moving ahead. Move forward in Him and all He has for your future! (To Subscribe to the Elijah List subscribe here.)

Move Forward!

The Lord showed me someone driving a car and constantly looking into their rear view mirror. It's great to use the rear view mirror to glance back to see how far you've come, but if you stare too long, you will not see what is right in front of you or miss your turn. Rear view mirrors are used for clearance and blind spots when changing lanes, but if you continually look in the rear view mirror, you will eventually crash.

Many of you are not advancing spiritually, because you are constantly looking back and reliving your past. There are memories that you are having a difficult time letting go of. It is imperative that you release the memories, mistakes and misfortunes so that you can advance into what Jesus has for you.

Some of you are still traumatized over certain incidents that have occurred in your lifetime. Jesus will take those good and bad times and create a masterpiece. You will be amazed at what the Lord will do with a life that is totally surrendered to Him. Holding on to the past, as well as unforgiveness, will hinder His work in you and will only bring sorrow, guilt, shame and regret. Don't allow your past situations to determine your future destination. Be set free to receive beauty for ashes and the oil of joy for mourning.

Some of you are building strongholds by hanging on to old mindsets and ways of thinking. A stronghold is a mindset resistant to change. The Lord is not rebuking you, but trying to bring you into an abundant life. Your life will move in the direction of your most dominant thought. If you continue to look back, eventually you will go in that direction. You must change the patterns of your thought life if you want to advance in your spiritual growth and tune in to the frequencies of Heaven.

Isaiah 43:18-19, "Forget the former things; do not dwell on the past. See, I am doing a new thing! Now it springs up; do you not perceive it? I am making a way in the desert and streams in the wasteland."

Don't Look at the Past...the Rear View Mirror

The Lord says, "Forget what lies behind. Don't hold on to past memories that will burden you and bring bitterness to your soul. Don't look at yourself the way that you were in the past. You are no longer the man or woman that you once were. Don't reminisce on the good times and the way that you think it should have been. This will hinder you from what is to come.

"I am preparing a new wineskin. You must protect and nurture this new wineskin to be able to hold the new wine that I am releasing to you. Don't look in the rear view mirror of your past any longer. This is preventing you from moving forward by holding on to worthless things and memories of situations that no longer exist.

"Release those who hurt you and I will heal you. As you continually align yourself with My Word, all the hurtful memories will eventually diminish. I will take everything that you have gone through in the past and use it for My glory. Your past failures will not disqualify you for what I have called you to do.

Philippians 3:12-14, "Not that I have already attained, or am already perfected; but I press on, that I may lay hold of that for which Christ Jesus has also laid hold of me. Brethren, I do not count myself to have apprehended; but one thing I do, forgetting those things which are behind and reaching forward to those things which are ahead, I press toward the goal for the prize of the upward call of God in Christ Jesus."

Walk in Newness of Life

"There will be spiritual warfare along the journey and the enemy will try to steal, kill and destroy, but I have equipped you to endure each battle. I have given you the ability to overcome every conflict. You will not falter under pressure, but you will stand your ground through difficult times. Do not regress and do not give in to temptation. Don't look at the opposition that seems to be against you, but rejoice because what the enemy planned for evil for your life shall not prevail.

"Your old nature is no longer in existence. Begin to see yourself the way that I see you. See the person that I have created you to be. Don't be afraid of change, but move forward into the victory that I have for you. Don't deprive yourself from entering into the blessings that I have for you.

"Remember where I have brought you from, but walk in the newness that I am bringing you in to. Don't allow memories of the past to derail you, but look to the promises and the provisions that I have for you," says the Lord.

2 Corinthians 5:17, "Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; old things have passed away; behold, all things have become new." (To Subscribe to the Elijah List subscribe here.)
