What's the Essence of a Name? ✡ "The Father of a Multitude of Nations" - ISRAEL365

Neither shall thy name any more be called Avram,
but thy name shall be Avraham; for the father of a multitude of nations have I made thee.

וְלֹא יִקָּרֵא עוֹד אֶת שִׁמְךָ אַבְרָם וְהָיָה שִׁמְךָ אַבְרָהָם כִּי אַב הֲמוֹן גּוֹיִם נְתַתִּיךָ

Today's Israel Inspiration

In today's verse, we learn of God's decision to change the name of our forefather Avram to Avraham. The meaning of the name Avraham comes from the Hebrew root "Av" (אב) which means "father." Therefore we see that Avraham was the father of all the nations for it was Avraham who began the unique recognition of One God., as has been taught throughout every generation since Biblical times. Dedicated to uncovering the meaning behind the words of the Bible, the Israel Institute of Biblical Studies provides an online forum where they teach thousands of people God's holy words every single day. New Fascinating Israeli Study Proves "We Look Like Our Names"

The findings of this study suggest that names more than tie us to our past. They can actually influence our look and show the important role of social structuring.

Today's Israel Photo

Today's beautiful photo by Bar Artzi Photography was taken in the Shokeda Forest in southern Israel. Many come to visit this eucalyptus forest during the winter, when it becomes completely covered with a magnificent wildflower blossoms.
