Mike Huckabee Fiercely Defends 'God's Land' - CHARISMA NEWS DAVE BOHON

Mike Huckabee Fiercely Defends 'God's Land'

Tonight, Aug.10, former Arkansas Gov. Mike Huckabee joins a round table of experts on Trinity Broadcasting Network's flagship talk show Praise to address a topic that is important to millions of individuals around the world: Why Israel Matters.
"It's indisputable that this land is God's land, and it's His land because He chose it," said Huckabee, speaking from TBN's Jerusalem studio. "It's the one piece of real estate that He put His finger on and said, 'Mine.'" He added that when people ask why the tiny Middle Eastern nation is so important, he answers that "it's important because God made it important. It's not important because the United Nations has something to say. It's not important because certain people have fought over it. The importance of it comes from God's designation."
Joining Gov. Huckabee and TBN's Matt and Laurie Crouch for this special program from the heart of Israel are: Samuel Smadja, Israeli native, Messianic pastor and noted Holy Land tour organizer; longtime friend of Israel Mike Hayes from Churches in Covenant International; and Christians United for Israel's Erick Stakelbeck, host of The Watchman With Erick Stakelbeck, airing exclusively on TBN.
Stakelbeck, an in-demand expert on the Middle East, pointed out that the Jewish state is the only example of a free democracy in the Middle East. "Whereas our brothers and sisters in Christ are being beheaded elsewhere in this region, they have freedom of worship right here in Israel, where the Christian population is actually growing." He added that the most important reason for individuals and nations to stand with Israel "is very simple: God says we should. There's no grey area there. God says in Genesis, 'I will bless those who bless you, and I will curse those who curse you'" (see Gen. 27:29).
As an exciting extra, this Praise program, taped during TBN's Holy Land tour with Hillsong Worship, includes Gov. Huckabee's announcement that he will host an exclusive weekend talk show on TBN beginning this fall. "I'm truly amped about the fact that, starting sometime this fall, there will be a Huckabee show on Trinity Broadcasting Network," said the governor, adding that "it's going to be an exciting opportunity to tell great stories about America and about great people. It's going to be inspirational, informational, edifying, and uplifting—something you don't see on a lot of typical television shows anymore. It's a joy to be part of the TBN family, and I'm excited about it."
Don't miss this special TBN Praise tonight at 8 p.m. Eastern / 7 p.m. Central, exclusively on TBN. Find out where TBN is airing near you with our channel finder, or watch TBN on our livestream here.

Media Watchman Challenges Christians Not to Ignore This Demonic Movement - CICELY GOSIER/BGEA CHARISMA NEWS

Media Watchman Challenges Christians Not to Ignore This Demonic Movement

Join us on the new C-Pop podcast where Taylor and Jessilyn discuss, debate and sometimes deride pop culture with a strong sense of humor and a focus on Christ. Listen at charismapodcastnetwork.com.

When terrorism analyst Erick Stakelbeck first got his start, he soon realized sharing his expertise without a scare would be no easy task.

"I would lay out all these facts and say, 'OK, have a nice day,' and people are hiding under their chairs," he joked, referring to the heavy but necessary message of the threat of terrorism.
"But as I've grown, and God has continued to refine me, I know there's a blessed hope, and I try and impress that on people."
Stakelbeck, who reports for the Christian Broadcasting Network, is widely known for his knowledge on the Middle East and national security issues.
Through his show The Watchman and latest book ISIS Exposed, his call now is to uncover threats like ISIS while staying true to the charge of evangelism that all believers have.
"Billy Graham is one of my heroes and Franklin is too," Stakelbeck said. "I never cease to be amazed by Billy's boldness and Franklin's boldness to preach the gospel."
And with similar boldness, Stakelbeck is challenging Christians everywhere to get educated about threats in the Middle East and at home, as well as the message behind recent terrorist attacks that are dominating headlines.
"Here in the West, we have so many distractions. People think the Middle East is thousands and thousands of miles away and could never affect us here," he said.
"But ISIS has declared war against Christians. The leader of ISIS has said, 'We must destroy the defender of the cross.' ... Christians are in the crosshairs."
And that's why believers should be paying attention.
"I think ISIS is a sign of the times. We live in dark times. Perilous times. ISIS is clearly a demonic movement," Stakelbeck added. "We as Christians have a responsibility to be salt and light; to stand against this with the truth of the gospel."

ISIS Explained

The group we now know as ISIS first got its start more than a decade ago.
When the United States went into Iraq in 2003, Islamic terrorist Abu Musab al-Zarqawi led the insurgency against the U.S.—soon starting the group he called al-Qaida in Iraq.
They were eventually crushed and Zarqawi was killed.
But after U.S. troops withdrew from Iraq, the group started to regain momentum.
"It got stronger in Iraq, spread to Syria, and grew into what we see today: the Islamic State in Iraq and Syria (ISIS)," Stakelbeck said.
Now, ISIS is working to establish harsh Islamic Sharia law everywhere.
"There's genocide underway right now in the Middle East ... our brothers and sisters in Christ are being slaughtered," Stakelbeck said. "As a Christian, the body of Christ is being persecuted by this movement."

Fighting Darkness With Light

Stakelbeck often notes the growing threat of homegrown jihad—Americans joining the ranks of terrorists in the Middle East to carry out attacks on U.S. soil.
"ISIS has called for folks to rise up. They call them 'city wolves,' and they're calling on all their city wolves in Europe and the United States to rise up and carry out attacks," he explained.
Yet, even with that reality, Stakelbeck says now is not the time for Christians to be afraid or shrink back.
"I talk to secular people in America all the time who instinctively in their gut feel things are going in a bad direction. But they don't know the Lord, and they don't know what to do about it," he said. "As believers, we have a special responsibility to be that voice and to educate people."
As Christians share God's Word and His promises in these dark times, doors can be opened for others to find security in Christ.
"If we are watchmen and watchwomen on the wall, we are on God's front lines as believers in this day and age," Stakelbeck said. "If we don't speak up about it, who's going to do it?
"No one else is going to do it. We were born in these times for a reason."

Hagee: Stakes Couldn't Be Higher for Israel, America - Erick Stakelbeck CBN News

Hagee: Stakes Couldn't Be Higher for Israel, America

Thousands of believers recently met in San Antonio to voice their support for Israel.

Over the past month, Palestinian terrorists have carried out a wave of deadly attacks against Israeli men, women and children.

Meanwhile, Iranian forces advance in Syria near Israel's doorstep, and they now have the Russian bear in their corner.

While enemies of Israel may be on the move, so are its friends. Thousands turned out in force deep in the heart of Texas to stand with Israel and the Jewish people.

This is the 34th consecutive year that Pastor John Hagee has held "A Night to Honor Israel" at Cornerstone Church. And this year, with the Iran nuclear deal at the forefront, the stakes could not be higher for Israel and America.

"Iran will use a nuclear bomb against Israel and they will use it against America," Pastor Hagee told CBN News. "And America is helping make it happen -- and every American should be outraged by this incident."

Sen. Tim Scott. R-S.C., echoed Hagee's strong criticism of the Iran nuclear deal.

"In year five of the deal, the arms embargo is lifted. In year eight, they get ballistic missiles. And in year 10, they have a straight path to a nuclear weapon. That is not a deal," Scott said.
Hagee also slammed Palestinian Authority Chairman Mahmoud Abbas for his incitement of what's being called a "Palestinian stabbing intifada" that has so far claimed the lives of at least 10 Israelis.

"What should America do to send a message to the Palestinians and Mr. Abbas, the president?" Hagee asked. "Shut off all foreign aid to the Palestinians immediately and permanently. Send a letter to them and to the Iranians saying that any attack on Israel would be an attack on the United States of America."

While the message about the gathering threats was sobering, the event was anything but downbeat. It was a celebration and acknowledgement of God's eternal covenant with Israel and the Jewish people.

"It's an opportunity for Jews and Christians to come together in solidarity and focus not on those things that divide us but what we share," Christians United for Israel Director David Brog told CBN News.

Sen. Scott said the Old Testament has a clear message for America regarding Israel.

"A part of the plan that God has for this amazing nation can be found in Psalms 122:6, "Pray for the peace of Jerusalem. And those who do shall prosper," the senator said.

John Hagee Ministries closed the night to honor Israel by awarding $3.2 million in donations to Israeli and Jewish charities, plus an ambulance. Over the years, the ministry has raised some $95 million for Israel.

Opinion: Palestinian Terrorists Aiming to Replace ISIS as 'Chief Butchers'? - Erick Stakelbeck, CBN News

Opinion: Palestinian Terrorists Aiming to Replace ISIS as 'Chief Butchers'?

Both Arab and Israeli observers of the daily stabbing attacks by Palestinians in Jerusalem and other Israeli cities say the terrorists seem to be modeling their attacks after the beheadings conducted by ISIS in Iraq and Syria.

Palestinian cartoonists frequently celebrate the stabbings with cartoons on social media. One shows a woman wearing the Muslim hijab stabbing a pig dripping blood with a star of David on its back.

Last week in an interview with CBN News, Israeli Infrastructure Minister Yuval Steinitz warned that some of the attacks in Israel look as if they came from the ISIS playbook.

Are Palestinian terrorists adopting ISIS's tactics? CBN News Terrorism Erick Stakelbeck addressed that and more on Newswatch, Oct. 19.

"The fact that they're waving knives, coming to people's necks, trying to cut them or behead them -- I'm confident that at least some of these terrorists were not just indoctrinated but inspired also from ISIS," Steinitz said.

Palestinian journalist Bassam Tawil confirms the suspicion in a powerful article for the Gatestone Institute.

"They (the Palestinian terrorists) are trying to replace Islamic State jihadis as the chief "butchers" of humans in the Middle East," Tawil wrote.

"How can our leaders in Ramallah accuse Jews of 'contaminating' the Al Aqsa Mosque with their 'filthy feet' at a time when our youths burn a religious site such as Joseph's Tomb?" Tawil asked.

"The attacks are an attempt to erase history so that Jews will not be able to claim any religious ties to the land. This is exactly what the Islamic State is doing in Syria and Iraq," he added.

ISIS confirmed its support for the Palestinian attacks with the release of a video on social media Monday. A masked spokesman praised the Palestinian attackers as "lone wolves who refuse to be subdued and spread fear among the sons of Zion."

The ISIS media campaign, unprecdented in scope, calls for Palestinians to continue the attacks on soldiers and civilians, using "every means at their disposal, including knives, vehicles, poison and explosives."

With this as a backdrop, U.S. Secretary of State John Kerry will meet Thursday with Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu in Germany.

White House and State Department responses to the wave of violence have been tepid and laced with the usual moral equivalence between Israel and the Palestinian leaders, who have in large measure sparked the violence as well as applauded it.

A more appropriate response would be to condemn without qualification the spread of terror throughout the Palestinian territories and the ISIS connection, including the incitement to violence and the celebration of it in the Palestinian media.

Democratic presidential candidates might also help by demanding a more robust response from their president.

Republicans in Congress could help by tracking the flow of hundreds of millions of U.S. dollars to the Palestinian Authority and forcing a public account of where our tax dollars are being spent.

Get with it, Washington, or your approval ratings will drop even further.
