Guatemala, Joe Biden

 Published on Mar 26, 2019

The moon is the brightest it's going to be all year and it's the Feast of Purim! Purim is when Esther and the Jews were able to defend themselves from the Anti-Christ Haman that were politically out to kill them.

It's also the time last year that Billy Graham was laid out in the state capitol, in Washington D.C. ------------------------- Like what you see? Guatemala to Celebrate Israel's 70th Birthday with Jerusalem Embassy Move - CBN News John Waage

Guatemala to Celebrate Israel's 70th Birthday with Jerusalem Embassy Move

CBN News  John Waage  March 5, 2018

Guatemalan President Jimmy Morales announced to thousands of Israel supporters in Washington that his nation will join the United States in moving its embassy in Israel from Tel Aviv to Jerusalem in May to coincide with Israel's 70th anniversary.
Last year, Morales announced it would follow the U.S. in moving its embassy, and in a speech Sunday before the annual AIPAC Policy Conference, he said the move will happen as Israel celebrates its founding.
"In May of this year, we will celebrate Israel's 70th anniversary, and under my instructions two days after the US will move its embassy, Guatemala will return and permanently move its embassy to Jerusalem," Morales said.
President Morales describes Guatemala's long support for Israel and announces his decision to move its embassy from Tel Aviv to Jerusalem in May to coincide with Israel's 70th anniversary celebration. (Comments from 6:23-10:40)
Morales, an evangelical Christian, thanked President Trump for his leadership in declaring that the US Embassy would move.  "His courageous decision has encouraged us to do what is right," Morales explained.
The Guatemalan leader also agreed with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu that more countries will follow Washington's lead.  Of his own decision, Morales said, "It is important to be among the first, but it is more important to do it right."
Speaking to The Times of Israel after his address, Morales said he has discussed embassy moves with other nations in Europe and Latin America but would not identify them.
Guatemala stood with Israel more than 70 years ago when it voted in the United Nations General Assembly for the partition plan that helped create modern Israel.  In 1959, it also became the first nation to open an embassy in Jerusalem.  But the embassy was moved to Tel Aviv as an international outcry grew against Israeli claims on eastern Jerusalem.
In February, Morales received a prestigious award from the Israel Allies Foundation in Jerusalem for his December announcement that Guatemala would return its embassy to Israel's capital.  At the time he said, "I'm just trying to do the right thing and allow my God, my people and history to judge me."

WHY GUATEMALA SAID "YES"
TO JERUSALEM

As featured in the February Maoz Israel Report

Guatemala is a little paradise where the weather is always pleasant and the larger cities lie in charming mountain ranges. If that were not enough, this petite nation offers delightful beaches on both the Caribbean side and the Pacific Ocean.

But Guatemala is also a corridor between Honduras and Mexico for drug trafficking. Guatemala's unpatrolled coastline and sparsely-populated jungles have made popular landing points for boats and planes carrying drugs from South America.

Crime and corruption always bring misery to a nation's people and Guatemala has had her share. Events completely beyond Guatemala's control, such as Castro's Marxist revolution in 1959 in nearby Cuba, or a devastating earthquake in 1976, which left more than 20,000 people dead and 1,000,000 homeless, plus the present poverty of over half its 17,000,000 citizens—breeding more crime—have challenged every leader of this nation for more than a century.

Israel's Got a New Best Friend - Guatemala! - Israel Today

Israel's Got a New Best Friend - Guatemala!

Monday, December 25, 2017 |  Israel Today Staff
Israel's list of "best friends" seems to be growing thanks to the United States finally following through in deed on its long-standing claim to be the Jewish state's closest ally.
For many a year, America said that Israel had no better friend in the world. And yet, the White House refused to officially accept the thing most important to Israelis and Jews everywhere - their ancient connection to Jerusalem.
Now that President Trump has righted that wrong, a number of other nations that seem to have just been waiting to follow America's lead are also recognizing Jerusalem as Israel's capital and vowing to move their embassies there.
The second nation after the United States to do so is Guatemala.
On Sunday, Guatemalan President Jimmy Morales informed his people in a Facebook post that their embassy would soon be moved to Jerusalem, the capital of Israel.
Israel Foreign Ministry spokesperson Emmanuel Nahshon responded on Twitter:
As did Deputy Minister for Diplomacy Michael Oren:
Guatemala was one of only nine nations last week to vote against a UN resolution condemning Trump's Jerusalem declaration. Neighboring Central America nation Honduras was another, and many Israelis hope it will be the next to openly and officially recognize Jerusalem's status as the capital of the Jewish state.
The Czech Republic was the second nation after the US to officially recognize Jerusalem as Israel's capital, but did not make a commitment to move its embassy to the Holy City.
