In the above verse, Abraham focuses his attention on finding a wife for his son Isaac. Knowing that Isaac is destined to be his spiritual heir, Abraham is aware that not just any woman will do as Isaac's wife. For spiritual reasons, Isaac can not leave the Land of Israel even for the purpose of finding a spouse. Therefore, Abraham charges his trusty servant Eliezer with selecting a worthy wife for Isaac from among Abraham's family back in Aram-naharaim. It is only natural for parents to want the best for this children, especially if their child has undergone some form of trauma.
