Greetings LoveMusic! Christmas celebrants,

On Dec. 1, 2014, a very special ABC TV Christmas show was broadcast. My good wife Laurie and I watched it, as we annually enjoy any Christmas show that lifts up the Name of Jesus. And you know whenever Michael W. Smith is singing, His Name will be lifted up.

We were really delighted with Carrie Underwood joining in for the performance. They did a fantastic job together! Carrie was awesome!

As you listen, bless the Lord Jesus Christ with all your heart, soul and mind, knowing that only because of Him can we have the true peace, joy, and love that Christmas represents. After all, Jesus (Yeshua) coming the first time means He is coming back again.

Oh, how I look forward to that day - when He comes not as a babe in swaddling clothes, lying in a manger, but comes riding on His mighty white stead, leading the saints from all generations to take up His rightful throne in Jerusalem, Israel, on the mountain of all mountains, where His throne will be established. He will rule the nations with righteousness and truth!

Come again quickly Lord Jesus, Yeshua HaMashiach!

At its core, God’s message is that ultimately, even if it takes time, He will always save the People of Israel from their oppressors. This true message that Ehud delivered to Eglon remains equally true in our time. Often the enemies of the Jewish people appear strong, and even claim many innocent victims. But God continues to send the message that ultimately, those who oppress His people will always be destroyed. Over time, the Jews’ persecutors all fade away, while the Nation of Israel lives forever. How Spirit-Led Christians Can Combat America's War on Christmas (U.S. Air Force photo/Staff Sgt. Don Branum) Christmas is fast approaching—the most wonderful time of the year! It's the time when people give gifts, sing Christmas carols and visit loved ones they haven't seen in years. And the most wonderful part of the holiday, of course, is celebrating our Savior's birth. But not everybody feels this way. Instead, we're seeing something strange happening in our nation, something many conservatives call "the war on Christmas." You see it in schools, stores and government offices. One middle school banned all songs mentioning Jesus from its holiday choir. And one principal in Nebraska went so far as to prohibit a whole list of Christmas symbols and activities. This ridiculous list included Christmas trees, carols, candy canes (because the J shape stands for for Jesus), reindeer, Santa Claus, and even red and green items! But is this behavior justified? Is Christmas truly even a Christian holiday? As many Christians know, Dec. 25 is most likely not the actual day Jesus was born. If you've researched the history of Christmas, you know that many years ago, pagans celebrated winter solstice with a festival. The early church tried to pull attention away from that pagan celebration, so they created a Mass in honor of Christ, which is where we get the word "Christmas." So really, Christmas isn't a pagan holiday; it's a tradition the Roman Catholic Church has passed down over generations. The Gospels of Matthew and Luke both recount Jesus' birth, though from different perspectives. And while the Bible never commands us to celebrate Christ's birthday, I think it's wonderful to do so. As the years have passed, more traditions have been added to the Christian holiday. For instance, one tradition that was added is giving gifts.
