Greetings from Israel!

May 3, 2019

Greetings from Israel!

My good wife Laurie and I arrived last night and drove to Netanya on the Mediterranean Sea, about an hour north of Tel Aviv. We then head to Tiberias for three days at the Aliya Return Center (Chaim Malespin), a Shabbat evening with Richard and Carolyn Hyde, and then a trip north to the Golan. I promised Laurie I would take her to a very nice winery.

From there we drive up to Jerusalem! We will be there for 5 nights, spending time with our very good friends Nissim and Hadassah Lerner for the Israeli Independence Day celebrations, and their children's families.

During our stay in Jerusalem will be anticipated time with our shop owner friends on Ben Yehuda Street - Abraham Saiden and sons, daughter; plus dinner with Gary and Geri Jorde here from Montana; Israel Today magazine staff (thanks for the apartment stay!); Breaking Israel News/Israel365 Tuly Weisz; and more.

Thank you, Yeshua, for this time with Your chosen ones in their Promised Land. May Your connections and relationships become ours, as we come to support our good friends in this Land of Y'israel!

Ahava and shalom,

Steve Martin

P.S. I left my laptop charger at home in my other black bag, so I hope to check in from time to time as I conserve power. But I have my iPhone 8, so the pictures will still come.

Unique Treasure - Now Think On This by Steve Martin

Unique Treasure

“For you are a people set apart as holy for Adonai your God. Adonai your God has chosen you out of all the peoples on the face of the earth to be his own unique treasure. Adonai didn’t set his heart on you or choose you because you numbered more than any other people — on the contrary, you were the fewest of all peoples. Rather, it was because Adonai loved you, and because he wanted to keep the oath which he had sworn to your ancestors, that Adonai brought you out with a strong hand and redeemed you from a life of slavery under the hand of Pharaoh king of Egypt.” (Deuteronomy 7:6-8, Complete Jewish Bible)

Some understand and get it when I explain to them why we, Love For His People ministry, support Israel and the Jewish people. They know that the Word of the Lord, complete from Genesis through Revelation, explains the redemption process the Almighty God Himself gave to us, from eternity.

And others? Well, not so much.

My good wife Laurie and I depart today for this journey across the Big Pond (May 1, 2019 - my 20th trip to Israel, which being an accountant I keep track of), to the land, which is now flowing with milk and honey, literally, as promised. I want to again write of that which the Lord Himself called the Promised Land, for the Jews, and why it is such a huge “because”.

Simply put, God created Adam and Eve, the first man and woman (yes, true stories that really happened as written in all the Bible) and gave them life from which they later turned against due to the commitment of sin. This separated them from having fellowship with God. Then this very same God proceeded to bring forth His plans and purposes: send a Redeemer, through a chosen people, to once again have a family who would love Him, His only Begotten Son Yeshua, outworked through the ministry of the Holy Spirit.

This God-head, Three-in-One, wanted to share His eternal love with an eternal people, for all eternity. Because a path was needed to come back into His fellowship, and a blood sacrifice was required to redeem mankind from sin, He would send His Son, His only Begotten One, through the people called the Jews, for all the nations to receive His mercy and love.

The people could, if they would, receive Him, the Redeemer. If they received His free offer, fellowship would be restored.

And that is as simple as you can state it.

So how more completely was He going to do it? How would He reveal Himself, His love and mercy, His abundant grace reaching out to any and all who would seek, find, and accept His free offer of forgiveness, reconciliation, and redemption?

He chose the Jews, since the very beginning, to bring forth His plan, to themselves and all the nations. He sent His Son, Yeshua, to become a man, a Jew, and suffer, die, be crucified, and rise from the dead, as the Blood Sacrifice that God required, to cleanse mankind from sin.

As the above quoted, written Word clearly states, “Adonai (the Lord) your God has chosen you out of all the peoples on the face of the earth to be his own unique treasure. Adonai didn’t set his heart on you or choose you because you numbered more than any other people — on the contrary, you were the fewest of all peoples. Rather, it was because Adonai loved you, and because he wanted to keep the oath which he had sworn to your ancestors…”

God the Almighty, the Creator of the Universe, the One Who is above all and everything that has ever been created and exists. This very One chose the Jews. These exact ones who, through the many centuries since that choosing, have been miraculously brought through generations and generations of hardship, persecution, destruction many times over, and yet live on, in the Land of Israel and beyond, proving that God is God (Yahweh, Yeshua, Jesus, Lord of all, King of kings, Ancient of Days, Three in One, etc.) and that His Faithfulness and Truth, promised for all eternity, will not be stopped, with not be thwarted, and will never be beaten by Satan and his hordes of demons and principalities.
No nation, no dictator, no country filled with anti-Semitism, will keep the One and Only from completing His perfect plan and purpose, begun with man in the Garden, to the complete fulfillment of all prophetic words – spoken and written – up through the Marriage Supper of the Lamb. All these redeemed people, from all nations, will then be seated with Him and His Son Yeshua HaMashiach in His heavenly realm.

This unique treasure, the Jews, those who through it all, despised and rejected, just like their Messiah Yeshua was, are the ones who have carried these promises of redemption and restoration for these thousands of generations. This people, whom the Lord describes as the olive tree, has been brought through the test of times, and now shine forth from their land of promise, Israel.

God the Father gave His promise to the Jews, and through this very tree, the olive tree as described throughout Scripture as a visual for all, has also extended His offered life to the Gentiles, described as the wild branches of the olive tree.

Some have falsely believed, to this very day, that the Jews gave up their inheritance when they failed to recognize Jesus’s first coming as the promised Messiah. But as the apostle Paul clearly states in Romans, it was only for a time, to allow the Gentiles, non-Jews, to also receive the promise of salvation.

As he so adequately wrote in Romans 11:11-16, “I say then, have they stumbled that they should fall? Certainly not! But through their fall, to provoke them to jealousy, salvation has come to the Gentiles. Now if their fall is riches for the world, and their failure riches for the Gentiles, how much more their fullness!

For I speak to you Gentiles; inasmuch as I am an apostle to the Gentiles, I magnify my ministry, if by any means I may provoke to jealousy those who are my flesh and save some of them. For if their being cast away is the reconciling of the world, what will their acceptance be but life from the dead?
For if the firstfruit is holy, the lump is also holy; and if the root is holy, so are the branches.

And if some of the branches were broken off, and you, being a wild olive tree, were grafted in among them, and with them became a partaker of the root and fatness of the olive tree, do not boast against the branches. But if you do boast, remember that you do not support the root, but the root supports you.

You will say then, "Branches were broken off that I might be grafted in." Well said. Because of unbelief they were broken off, and you stand by faith. Do not be haughty, but fear. For if God did not spare the natural branches, He may not spare you either. Therefore consider the goodness and severity of God: on those who fell, severity; but toward you, goodness, if you continue in His goodness.

Otherwise you also will be cut off. And they also, if they do not continue in unbelief, will be grafted in, for God is able to graft them in again. For if you were cut out of the olive tree which is wild by nature, and were grafted contrary to nature into a cultivated olive tree, how much more will these, who are natural branches, be grafted into their own olive tree?

For I do not desire, brethren, that you should be ignorant of this mystery, lest you should be wise in your own opinion, that blindness in part has happened to Israel until the fullness of the Gentiles has come in. And so all Israel will be saved, as it is written:

"The Deliverer will come out of Zion, and He will turn away ungodliness from Jacob;” (NKJV)

Our commitment as believers, as Christians, in support of the Jews and their Land of Israel, Eretz Y’srael (Hebrew - Land of Israel) becomes stronger every day, as these end times further proves the existence and the outworking of God’s holy plan.

Those who chose to stand with His chosen people will reap the benefits of the same, this unique treasure to which the nations will either stumble over or acknowledge as the work of God.

We go today in support of our friends, believers in Yeshua, and rightful heirs of the Land He has brought them back to. May your heart and soul also be in support of these through whom the Savior of the world, Yeshua HaMashiach, has come, will come again, and justly rule from the very city He has placed His eternal Name on, Jerusalem, in Israel.

Now think of this,

Ahava and shalom,

Global Persecution Report: 'Christians Are the Most Persecuted ...and It's Accelerating' - CBN News Jennifer Wishon

Global Persecution Report: 'Christians Are the Most Persecuted ...and It's Accelerating'
04-30-2019
CBN News Jennifer Wishon

WASHINGTON – Religious persecution plagues countries around the world and the problem is only getting worse. Now, an annual report by the US Commission on International Religious Freedom (USCIRF) gives us a clear picture of the world's top offenders.
Burma, Central African Republic, China, Eritrea, Iran, Nigeria, North Korea, Pakistan, Russia, Saudi Arabia, Sudan, Syria, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan, Uzbekistan and Vietnam are where people of faith face the most aggressive and violent forms of persecution.
Gary Bauer, one of the nine commissioners on USCIRF, is particularly concerned about China's inclusion on the list because of the influence it wields.

"So here's a rising power. It's economy is growing bigger and bigger each year, its military is expanding. It's got worldwide ambitions and every place it reaches it's bringing these values of persecution along with them," he tells CBN News.
So called "tier two" countries of concern include Afghanistan, Azerbaijan, Bahrain, Cuba, Egypt, India, Indonesia, Iraq, Kazakhstan, Laos, Malaysia, and America's NATO ally Turkey.

Turkey, of course, made international headlines for holding American Pastor Andrew Brunson hostage for nearly two years before releasing him last fall.
"One of the things the commission is really focused on is not only when there are governments perpetrating violence but when governments are tolerating the perpetration of violence," USCIRF Commissioner Anurima Bhargava told CBN News after release of the report.
This report is unique in that the nine commissioners on USCIRF aren't burdened by diplomacy. Unlike many State Department accounts, these observers are free to tell it like they see it.
"We believe as a commission that no person of whatever faith they are should have to fear within their house of worship," says Commissioner Tony Perkins.
For the world's Christians, the situation is especially dire.
"Christians are the most persecuted religious group in the world and it's accelerating," says Bauer.
In its report, the commission calls on President Trump to appoint a special adviser on international religious freedom, target top offenders with sanctions, and put money toward the State Department's effort to help houses of worship protect themselves.

"Churches, which are soft targets, have become targets for terrorists and so we believe this would be a very effective role for our government to come alongside these governments to provide the training that would be a combination of police officers, the law enforcement agencies, the domestic security, along with the houses of worship to provide the security," says Perkins, who has also served on the security team at his own church.
For so many people around the world, finding religious tolerance is increasingly a matter of life and death.

Joel C. Rosenberg's Blog: Last week, I was interviewed by a Saudi newspaper & Christianity Today about the White House peace plan...even as the Turkish & Qatari media spread lies & Palestinians vow to defeat a peace plan they haven’t read.

Last week, I was interviewed by a Saudi newspaper & Christianity Today about the White House peace plan. Here’s what I told them, even as the Turkish & Qatari media spread lies & Palestinians vow to defeat a peace plan they haven’t read.

by joelcrosenberg
Now that the Israeli elections are over, the White House is signaling it will release is much-awaited plan to help establish Middle East peace, most likely around mid-June.
As that release approaches, I've been called by reporters from the Associated Press, Axios, the Christian Broadcasting Network, Christianity Today, CNN, the Religion News Service, a Saudi newspaper, and others, asking for insights.
No one yet knows what's in the final plan. Yet Turkish and Qatar media outlets are propagating lies about the plan, even as Palestinian leaders vow to defeat the peace plan they haven't even read yet.
The best I can do is provide some analysis informed, in part, by my meetings with Israeli and Arab leaders, as well as my conversations with various American Evangelical leaders.
As the various stories are published, I'll post them here and send them out on Twitter and on my Facebook "Epicenter Team" page. For now, here are two.
TRUMP PLAN DOESN'T CUT OFF LANDS FROM JORDAN OR EGYPT AND IS IN LINE WITH THE SPIRIT OF THE ARAB PEACE INITIATIVE by Hadeel Oueis, Washington correspondent for Al Riyadh newspaper, Saudi Arabia, April 27, 2019
In an interview of Al Riyadh, an American Evangelical leader, Joel Rosenberg, who has met with many Arab leaders and U.S. President Donald Trump to discuss the “Peace Plan” prepared by the U.S. administration, says that he is aware of the priorities of the administration and Arab attitudes regarding the expected plan.
But he also sees a counter-plan led by the Arabic-speaking Turkish media and Al-Jazeera [satellite TV news network, based out of Qatar] designed to destroy any chances for peace, and also to broadcast a large amount of lies regarding elements that have not been put forward about the plan in an attempt to distort Arab attitudes towards the plan.
Rosenberg says that Turkey publicly criticizes Israel yet is the one country in the region that has all kinds of relations with Israel, including diplomatic relations.
It should be noted that the agreements between Turkey and Israel go so far as to facilitate the movement of citizens of the two countries without visas. This began more than a decade ago with the launch of Turkey as a global trade and tourism center.
Turkish flights carrying the Turkish flag fly to Israel more than any other airline in the world, and it's a lucrative route for Turkish Airlines, which has the second most frequent flights to Tel Aviv after the Israeli company, "El Al."
A second Turkish airline, "Pegasus," also dominates Israeli aviation markets, though it has no flights from Arab countries to Israel. These airline connections have never been affected by the Turkish President's high-profile speeches attacking Israel and supporting the Palestinians.
Even President Trump's recognition of Jerusalem as the capital of Israel didn't stop even one Turkish flight or Turkish business deal with Tel Aviv.
Rosenberg says Turkey is trying to fabricate lies about the Trump peace plan in order to distort U.S. positions and confuse the Arab street, as well as to keep the Arab states from benefitting from economic relations with Israel.
Turkey likes being Israel’s main economic partner in the region, and fears the peace deal could change this. Turkey is also constantly trying to protect itself from challenges that arise in international relationships by presenting itself as the only moderate state in the region, and hopes to shape the views of Congress and counter the influence of Jewish power in America in order to help Ankara.
Rosenberg says media reports are wrong to say that the Trump “Peace Plan” will take land away from the Sinai or from Jordan, and says the U.S. administration will not put forward proposals that could harm or disturb two very important allies of the Trump administration, Egypt and Jordan.
Rosenberg adds he is familiar with the positions of the key parties in the region. He feels that the Arab states usually adhere to the views of the Palestinians, and have not been willing to distance from them in the past.
He expects that the plan will contain points that make it compatible with the spirit of the Arab Peace Initiative, including the emphasis on the importance of a two-state solution, and leaving the issue of Jerusalem's borders for negotiations without being pre-determined by the Kushner Plan.
He continued: "I have heard from the Arabs who are trying to help the rights of the Palestinians. They are inviting President Abbas to the table to present the proposals and visions that the Palestinians want. In principle, I expect that the Trump plan is in keeping with the spirit of these principles, but this could also make parts of the plan unattractive to the Israeli side. Therefore, the only solution is to open doors to direct dialogue and negotiation."
Rosenberg warns the Palestinians against ignoring the full details of plan, and not seeing and checking what is really in the plan [when it is released.]
This is just what the critics and the abusers of empty slogans want. Yet these empty slogans and attacks do nothing to help the Palestinians and constantly deprive them of the countless gains that would occur if peace happens.
Rosenberg adds that people should see Al-Jazeera's contradiction — they use their network to attack Israel and peace but the state that funds it [Qatar] already has quiet, non-official relations with Israel.
Yet Al-Jazeera and its supporters do not want the Arab region and its leaders to improve relations and make true peace with Israel, not just symbols. For this will bring economic gains, foreign investment and peaceful international relations to the forefront.
Rosenberg emphasized that peace between the countries of the region is ultimately not an American affair. It is about whether the people of the Middle East aspire to become major, productive and influential nations, which are close to each other and diversified in their capabilities from energy to advanced technology.
Are they willing to boost their economies and their ability to innovate and stabilize if peace is achieved or steps towards peace are taken?....
