Her name was Hadassah. New message from Steve Martin, Love For His People

 

Aug. 27, 2025 Greetings to you once again. We all have known a loved friend or relative who goes on before us. While we truly miss them not being here any longer, our faith and hope tells us that we will see them again in heaven, already dancing with our Lord, Savior, and Messiah Yeshua (Jesus). One such beloved saint we have known, of the Lord, is Hadassah Lerner, from Israel She served the Lord passionatley and loved all who came into hers and "huney" Nissim's home in Jerusalem, and then near Haifa after their move a few years ago. I write of her, as I knew her, in my message this week, simply entiled, "Hadassah". We carry on as they had before us. Ahava and Shalom, Steve Martin Love For His People Ministry P.S. Our next trip to Israel for Laurie and I is Oct. 15, 2025-Jan. 12, 2026. We hope to get up north from our lodging in Jerusalem to see husband Nissim, son Tim, and our other friends living near Haifa.

We set the camera up at the end of the table and captured a timed photo. Hadassah is now dancung with her Messiah, Yeshua, as of Aug. 16, 2025. She will be greatly missed by her family and friends.

Hadassah    “Praised be God, Father of our Lord Yeshua the Messiah, who, in keeping with his great mercy, has caused us, through the resurrection of Yeshua the Messiah from the dead, to be born again to a living hope, to an inheritance that cannot decay, spoil or fade, kept safe for you in heaven.” 1 Peter 1:2-4, Complete Jewish Bible     “You will always have a place to stay with us,” Hadassah told me when I last lodged at their housing in Givat Ze’ev, about 5 miles north of Jerusalem in Israel. Nissim and Hadassah were just that way. They opened their 3-bedroom home to those making Aliyah (immigration as Jews) from the nations, and Gentiles like me who came to bless Israel and the His chosen people. Originally known as Margaret and John Lerner, they had lived in Norfolk, Virginia, before themselves taking their five children to the Land given to the Jews. With new names and big hearts, decades later they formed His Lighthouse. This ministry had open doors and open arms to all people coming to Israel. When I came from Charlotte, North Carolina, the first time to their home in 2013, they hardly knew me. Facebook friends sometimes do become real ones in the flesh. But their passion and my passion joined together for His plans and purposes. Hadassah would take the time to show me all around Jerusalem. She’d have an answer, or get one, for every WhatsApp question I sent her way. They both were so encouraging in allowing me to use their place as a launching pad, for what the Lord was laying as a foundation in my life, and for future plans He was preparing for me and others in Israel. I and so many more will miss Hadassah. On Aug. 16, 2025, after a year-long battle with cancer (chemo, radiation, and surgery), the Lord Yeshua called her to her heavenly home, to her great reward. My good wife Laurie last saw her in April 2025 in Haifa. David Peterman and I were with her and Nissim in their home in May 2025. She went to glory three months later. Most likely her front door has a sign on it saying, “All are welcome. Come on in.”    Ahava and Shalom,   Steve Martin   P.S. With Laurie and my upcoming volunteering in Jerusalem, Israel, with Christian Friends of Israel for three months, Oct. 15, 2025 – Jan. 12, 2026, He has indeed prepared for us the way. Greetings friends.

For over 5 years we have had the joy of connecting with Nissim and Hadassah Lerner in Jerusalem, Israel. Having stayed often in their home, spending time with their children and grandchildren, and meeting those they have long assisted in making aliyah, after doing so themselves from Virginia over 15 years ago, we now have the honor of having Hadassah speak to the Strength For Israel gathering September 6, 2019, in Fort Mill, South Carolina. (Details below.)

Along with husband Nissim, having proven themselves faithful in welcoming and housing those immigrating to Israel already, the Lord has now given the Learners a new organization, His Lighthouse Inc. to see established and built in the Land of Israel. The Lord gave the initial vision to Nissim early this year.

After hearing Hadassah speak at the Aliyah Conference in October 2017 and give a very in-depth history of what it was like for them to make the move, I know you too will want to hear her.

They are preparing to now help the others coming, as in a "tsunami", as she expects and is planning for.

From what I have heard from them already, when with them in May 2019 in Jerusalem, our ministry is excited to join hands with them in this God-given endeavor.

Plan on joining us and hear first hand what the Lord is doing in Israel in these days, and how He is moving, literally, Jews from around the nations back to their land.
