Christians Must Stand With Courage and Conviction - DAVID LANE/AMERICAN RENEWAL PROJECT CHARISMA NEWS

Christians Must Stand With Courage and Conviction

Lutheran Pastor Wolfgang Schuch was one of the giants of the 16th century. According to Charles Spurgeon's The Treasury of David, Schuch was imprisoned for denying "the Church and the sacrifice of the mass" and was sentenced to be burnt at the stake. Upon hearing his sentence, he began singing the 122nd Psalm, "I was glad when they said to me, 'Let us go into the house of the Lord.'"
In fact, it was in the 19th-century Baptist preacher Charles Spurgeon's aforementioned commentary on the Psalms that I read about Schuch. But Spurgeon read about Schuch from within the pages of Foxe's Book of Martyrs. When Christians stand with courage and conviction—even in the face of death—their testimony inspires others for generations to come.
Kentucky Clerk Kim Davis faced her own trial and dilemma in 2015. She would either knuckle under to secular judicial elites and compromise her beliefs as a Christ follower, or she would go to jail. Confrontation with evil is nothing new; John N. Oswalt says believers throughout history have been "flayed alive, impaled, mutilated and killed" (Isaiah Commentary). Theology can make for splendid Bible study discussion in the safety and comfort of a yet-free society, but the real question is this: Will you bet your life on it?
Secularism is a pagan ideology, a religion. According to Harold J. Berman's Law and Revolution, secularism divorced itself from Christianity, and yet still retained "from traditional Christianity both its sense of the sacred and some of its major values." But a rival now challenges secularists in the form of revolutionary totalitarianism.
For instance, homosexual militants once lobbied for a libertarian acceptance of its lifestyle with this mantra: "Allow us to live our lives in the privacy of our homes." But then, the homosexual movement shifted to a totalitarian posture: "Bakers, photographers and Christian retreat centers will take part in our weddings or be bankrupted." Finally, the situation Kim Davis faced introduced us to the next chapter: Fascism, with its declaration, "You will ceremonialize and pay homage to our weddings, or you'll spend time in jail."
Pro-life evangelical and Catholic Christians have favored an esoteric, academic approach over the last two to three generations. But in the battle with secularists for ideological supremacy in the public square, the cancer of secularism has now run its course. The decay to this once-great Christian nation is nauseating.
In plain English, Peter J. Leithart spelled out his diagnosis and corrective to the gathering storm when he wrote in Between Babel and Beast:
"Until American churches actually function as outposts of Jesus' heavenly empire rather than as cheerleaders for America—until the churches produce martyrs rather than patriots—the political witness of Christians will continue to be diluted and co-opted."
Edmund Burke observed that those who refuse to look backward to their ancestry would not look forward to their posterity. Jewish talk show host Michael Medved observes, "The Founders weren't atheists, agnostics or secularists; they were, almost without exception, deeply serious Christians."

I predict that a future American leader will conclude that America's greatest need is a spiritual awakening. Once inaugurated, repentance will be the first order of business; first confessing his own sins, and then admitting his and the nation's folly for replacing Jehovah and traditional Christianity with a "religion of secularism." (This is U.S. Supreme Court Justice Potter Stewart's prophetic language in his lone dissent in the 1963 SCOTUS ruling to remove the Bible from public schools in America: "It led not to true neutrality with respect to religion, but to the establishment of a religion of secularism.")
According to Eric Metaxes, this historic figure, "something like what a Moses was to Israel" will have set in motion a movement to oust the false religion of secularism from the political, legal, economic, religious and cultural institutions of America. And analogous to Martin Luther's Protestant Reformation in the 16th century, a "cataclysmic" explosion of faith will rock the world for generations.
But this movement likely won't come into view until the church returns to the priority of prayer, establishing righteousness above sacrifice and the priority of ethics over ritual. God's name has been brought into contempt, but like the prideful Philistines in 1 Samuel 5, secularists have misinterpreted their victory:
"The only reason that they had defeated Israel was because Yahweh was using the Philistines to discipline His people. How much better it would have been for His glory to be revealed on the battlefield, but He couldn't give victory to a disobedient people. The living God cannot be used, manipulated or managed. God allows Himself to be humiliated and exalted. But through it all, He will not compromise His holiness or integrity. In the church God often appears to be losing because Christians refuse to submit to His lordship. The Lord longs to show up in a powerful way, but He is waiting for us to be holy as he is holy (1 Pet 1:16). So instead of blaming the church for being anemic, lethargic and irrelevant, perhaps we should blame ourselves" (Dr. Keith Krell,1 Samuel).
Once we return to God, He will then attend to the honor of His name. Public education and universities will again focus on the principal component of education: incorporating the character of the Father into our children, thus creating an exceptional and virtuous people. Test scores in education will soar for, "The fear of the Lord is the beginning of knowledge" (Prov. 1:7).

Once gospel righteousness is restored to the public square, virtue will suddenly come to the forefront at City Hall. America will again bring forth outstanding men and women of character, produced by a Christian culture, Christian thought and biblical wisdom. As Charles Spurgeon said, "He who is taught of God has a practical wisdom such as malice cannot supply to the crafty; while harmless as a dove he also exhibits more than a serpent's wisdom."
We simply need a Gideon or Rahab to stand.

All Wound Up by Elaine Tavolacci - IDENTITY NETWORK

All Wound Up by Elaine Tavolacci

Identity Network
The Holy Spirit brought me back to a prophetic word that I shared some time ago. He showed me a picture of a multitude of people with wind up keys on their backs walking around like wind up dolls. Each person was walking in a different direction. Some people were walking to and fro wandering aimlessly without hope and some were being swayed in the wrong direction.

Some were lagging behind while others appeared to be in a trance of fear. There were some walking in a circular motion not realizing that they weren't going anywhere, just like a hamster running around on a wheel. Many were distraught as they were going through fiery trials.

But then I saw those who were marching with determination knowing exactly what their destination was as they were trusting Jesus. They marched on with courage and confidence. They had fire in their eyes, and the Word of God as a sword in their mouths. They stood upright, they were bold and radical in their faith, and they were steadfast in what they believed. They seemed to have a protective shield around them as every fiery dart that came against them was extinguished. They were not swayed by adverse circumstances or evil reports, but they stood on the word of God.

What are You Wound Up In?

I asked The Lord what this meant and this is what He showed me. Every person in the universe is walking around wound up in different situations. Some people are wound up in worries, some are wound up in confusion, some are caught up in the love of money and many are wound up in fear. But then there is the remnant who are stirred up in faith, stirred up in joy, and they continue to stir themselves up spiritually by praying in the Spirit.

The Lord says, allow Me to unwind you from the pressures that so easily beset you. Do not fear this dilemma that seems to be too large for you to handle in the natural, and allow Me to release you from the tormenting anxiety and confusion in your mind. Trust in Me to provide all your needs in every area.

Allow Me to remove the burdens from your heart as you are entangled in complicated situations. Those of you who are fatigued from the cares and the weights of the world, come and rest in Me and I will restore your energy and revive you physically.

Take your eyes off the circumstances around you and allow Me to direct your path. Trust in Me when all else fails. Don't allow worry or fear to overtake you. I will release you from this distress as you position yourself and come into the secret place of My presence. Be bold and be strong, as you follow My leading. Allow Me to stir up and resurrect those dreams that have faded away through discouragement.

As you put your trust in Me, you will gain the tenacity to become steadfast once again and pursue the plans that you have been contending for. You will then have the endurance to run the race with determination and strength. Keep your focus on My Word rather than the way that your situations appear in the natural.

Staying Steadfast

Everything in the natural is subject to change. I am the God of restoration and nothing is impossible with Me. As you stay steadfast in these trying times, you will come forth as gold. I Am your deliverer, I Am the God of your destiny and I Am with you in the fire of affliction. Although it may look like the waves of adversity are pulling you in a vortex, fear not. Rejoice and know that this too will come to pass and know that I will bring you in to My plans and purposes for your life.

As you trust Me, that very thing that is coming against you will be your greatest testimony. Stir yourself up once again, and I will bring you out stronger as you endure and put your faith in Me says the Lord.

1 Samuel 30:6 Now David was greatly distressed, for the people spoke of stoning him, because the soul of all the people was grieved, every man for his sons and his daughters. But David strengthened himself in the Lord his God.

Isaiah 41:10 Fear not, for I am with you; Be not dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you, Yes I will help you, I will uphold you with My righteous right hand.

1 Peter 4:12 -13 Beloved, do not think it strange concerning the fiery trial which is to try you, as though some strange thing happened to you; but rejoice to the extent that you partake of Christ's sufferings, that when His glory is revealed, you may also be glad with exceeding joy.

Jude 1:20-21 But you, beloved, building yourselves up on your most holy faith, praying in the Holy Spirit, keep yourselves in the love of God, looking for the mercy of our Lord Jesus Christ unto eternal life.

Jonathan Cahn: We Don't Understand What God Does at All Times - JESSILYN JUSTICE CHARISMA NEWS

Jonathan Cahn: We Don't Understand What God Does at All Times

Believers don't always understand why God is following a certain course or asking us for a specific task, Rabbi Jonathan Cahn says.
We need to trust God, despite what appearances lead us to believe. Take, for example, Abraham.
God asked him to give up his son, and Abraham agreed. The father of Israel could have refused.
"But he trusted," Cahn says. "And once he did, (God) said, 'No, Abraham, that was just a test. That's not what I wanted, I wanted to see your heart, I wanted to see you stand."
Watch the video above to see how we can apply it to our lives.

"You're A Messenger of Courage: For Such A Time As This" by Joey LeTourneau - The Elijah List

"And the Angel of the Lord appeared to him, and said to him, 'The Lord is with you, you mighty man of valor!'" Judges 6:12
"Rejoice, highly favored one, the Lord is with you; blessed are you among women!" Luke 1:28
As happened with Gideon and Mary in these two instances, my heart has been pulled for the courage rising up within God's children to step into their purpose and calling. It's not just any courage, but a kairos kind of courage that empowers us to leap beyond the hope of our calling and into its appointed time of action and fruitfulness.
It's a crossing over of the mind, and an empowerment of the heart to fully believe, fully receive, and then to seize the purposes and promises we've prayed and waited for as the moment arises.
The last few weeks I've found myself sharing about a quote I hadn't recalled in a long time, from a movie called "We Bought A Zoo." I believe the words are very relevant to us in this time as we learn to seize what God has placed before us:
"You know, sometimes all you need is twenty seconds of insane courage. Just literally twenty seconds of just embarrassing bravery. And I promise you, something great will come of it." (We Bought A Zoo)
I believe this is a now word for you and me. We are being presented "suddenly" moments, for such a time as this, to step into a breakthrough that is bigger than our hope can comprehend.
These might be moments that look like immense risk or require vulnerability, but we have to seize that incoming wave at the opportune time with fresh courage. (Photo via Wikipedia)
We must realize the breakthrough starts within us – so it can be brought to life all around us – by stepping outside our comfort zone and recognizing the new thing that He is doing now.
Breaking Out of Our Comfort Zone
"I will do a new thing, now it shall spring forth; shall you not know it?" Isaiah 43:19
Often, the hardest thing about receiving something new for us is that it almost always requires something new of us. Those new breaker waves we pray and believe for rarely flow through our familiar comfort zone. They don't stay within our boundaries or control, rather, they are the move of His Spirit calling us to jump outside our self-imposed box and ride the wave of a lifetime.
The above verse from Isaiah is quoted frequently, even hung as a banner to declare the new thing God is ready to do. But how often do we leave off that last part? How often do we turn a deaf ear to the question the Spirit asks us each day when He inquires, "Shall you not know it?"
Will we know the new thing God is doing in, through and around us? Will we recognize His fresh move, beyond our insecurities, critiques or judgments? Will we be able to embrace the very thing we've been praying for when it passes by just outside familiar waters?
If we will, it will take courage.

ElijahList Prophetic Resources

It will require us to be lion-hearted, found among those through the ages who have – like Gideon – lived a courage that is not so much about a valiant charge into battle but about a radical step of obedience that joins God in what He is now doing.
Your Messenger of Courage
The Lord doesn't just send us into such a leap out onto the waters without equipping us.
Like with Gideon and Mary, there are different times throughout Scripture where we see the Lord send a messenger to one of His chosen ones to call them over the chasm that lies between the promises they hope for and the purpose they are created to live.
God goes all in to help us be who He has created us to be, and to prove it, He sends us messengers of courage to strengthen our leap.
"Now the Angel of the Lord came and sat under the terebinth tree...Gideon threshed wheat in the winepress...And the Angel of the Lord appeared to him, and said to him, 'The Lord is with you, you mighty man of valor!'" Judges 6:11-12
"Now in the sixth month the angel Gabriel was sent by God to a city of Galilee named Nazareth, to a virgin betrothed to a man whose name was Joseph, of the house of David. The virgin's name was Mary. 'Rejoice, highly favored one, the Lord is with you; blessed are you among women!'" Luke 1:26-28
Gideon was addressed as "mighty man of valor." Mary as "highly favored one." It is not coincidence that God called them by such terms not after they completed their purpose, but before. This is how they were addressed from the outset; then God called them to step into the appointed time of their destiny.
You have a Messenger of Courage within you, a Helper, the Spirit of Truth, and He is calling to you like He did Gideon and Mary, already addressing you as beloved and a victor, not just hopeful of such.
He wants to visit you, meet you, and call to the courage He already sees within you. He wants you to see yourself as He does, and He is imparting to you the courage necessary to leap out and seize the moment that is only just beyond your reach.
(Photo via Wikimedia Commons)
The Lord has aligned timing. He has aligned circumstances. He is calling you by a powerful name like "Mighty" or "Favored" to remind you who you are in Him, and that He is with you. For when you know who you are, you'll also know what you are supposed to do.
He calls you by your identity before you discover your victory. So, what is your messenger of courage saying over you?
"Blessed is she who believed, for there will be a fulfillment of those things which were told her from the Lord." Luke 1:45

Fear - Now Think On This by Steve Martin

Fear
- Now Think On This
by Steve Martin

“…men fainting from fear and the expectation of the things which are coming upon the world; for the powers of the heavens will be shaken.” (Luke 21:26 NASU)

Fear is prevalent in our society. We are fearful of oncoming storms, both from natural weather patterns and within the economic world. Loss of a job, possible collapse of the stock market, or the internal anticipation of an unexpected accident or sudden illness can cripple our emotional health. Feeling powerless at times in being able to provide for your family or other loved ones can further heighten the effects of fear that reside within us.

Fear may keep one from speaking up when something wrong is seen or heard. Having fear will cause people to turn away when danger approaches, rather than stand and confront the situation head on. Being afraid of what may come one’s way may keep them from doing anything at all. Sitting back and letting it happen seems to be the easier way out at times, when in reality it only brings on more harm.

Even believing some form of retaliation will strike back at us, if we “come to the rescue” at moments of crisis, will keep us from acting. Fear keeps one from attempting to do right when righteousness should prevail, and therefore the right thing isn’t done.

“Don’t get involved” becomes the easy choice many take in these times we live in.

We see the results of fear within families, where a mother is afraid to speak up in defense of her child, knowing the father, or live-in boyfriend, will then lash out against her too. He has done it often before, so the same response is expected. The child is beat down, and the silence lives on.

A bully at school rages upon a younger classmate, while other students stand back and let it happen. Speaking up to a teacher would only bring ridicule upon themselves. So nothing is done and the pain continues on.

Having no one take your side and be a surrounding protectorate can lead one to the point of suicide. One tragedy unstopped leads to another tragedy fulfilled. If only the fear would cease, and replaced with courage to act. In far too many cases it does not.

Among the cities of our once free land here in America, we bow down to the demands of the 1%, who are slowly taking away our freedom, right before our eyes. If one person doesn't like the cross that has stood on the overlooking hill for the past 70 years, an outcry goes up, and the city council takes it down. The Ten Commandments, which have governed lawful societies for centuries, are removed from public view, for fear of the anti-Christian elements who decided it offends them.

Our schools have become murder scenes, decades later after prayer and the Judeo-Christian laws have been removed from them. "We can't force our religion on someone else" is so often quoted. So what about you forcing your ungodly standards on us?

Looks like the USA, Europe and once truth believing nations have gotten what the majority allowed the minority to have. Throw out the One True God and let the devil in. How is that working out for you?

The water is getting hotter in the frog's kettle, and few seem to notice, or care. The once lively creature will soon be cooked alive, having believed que sera sera. But soon he will be dead and gone.

On a much larger scale, one nation attacks another without challenge. Words spoken only of “peace” and “understanding” do nothing to stop the evil encroachment. And so the wrongful offensive continues on, unopposed by those who could, and should, stop it.

All these situations reflect the growing reality that comes when fear rules.

The Scripture speaks clearly of “men fainting from fear and the expectation of the things which are coming upon the world.” We sense the ominous approaching, as the darkness overtaking our nations slithers forward, being the snake that it is. It is affecting each and every one.

Scripture also boldly declares the answer, the very Word that we must trust in, while letting our faith solidly depend upon. It is to believe what the Lord Himself has already said.

“Fear not, for I am with you; be not dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you, yes, I will help you, I will uphold you with My righteous right hand.' "Behold, all those who were incensed against you shall be ashamed and disgraced; they shall be as nothing, and those who strive with you shall perish.

You shall seek them and not find them — those who contended with you. Those who war against you shall be as nothing, as a nonexistent thing. For I, the Lord your God, will hold your right hand, saying to you, 'Fear not, I will help you.'” (Isaiah 41:10-13 NKJV)

Thus this word speaks to those who live in fear - believe on this, the Lord’s spoken Word, which is for you.

To the people of Israel, surrounded by enemies constantly seeking your destruction -  believe this word spoken through your Messiah’s prophet Isaiah.  Know that your Jewish brother, Yeshua HaMasiach, is your Defender.

We will also continue to love and support you, and stand beside you. When called upon, we shall give our lives for the purpose of our uniting King.

And when the Spirit of the Lord comes upon us, to speak up, to stand up and to move forward in righteousness and courage, we will see the Lion of the tribe of Judah leading us both on.

Let it be so, even as it is written:

“Then the Spirit of the Lord came upon Jahaziel the son of Zechariah, the son of Benaiah, the son of Jeiel, the son of Mattaniah, a Levite of the sons of Asaph, in the midst of the assembly. And he said, "Listen, all you of Judah and you inhabitants of Jerusalem, and you, King Jehoshaphat! Thus says the Lord to you: 'Do not be afraid nor dismayed because of this great multitude, for the battle is not yours, but God's.

Tomorrow go down against them. They will surely come up by the Ascent of Ziz, and you will find them at the end of the brook before the Wilderness of Jeruel. You will not need to fight in this battle. Position yourselves, stand still and see the salvation of the Lord, who is with you, O Judah and Jerusalem!' Do not fear or be dismayed; tomorrow go out against them, for the Lord is with you." (2 Chronicles 20:14-17 NKJV)

Overcome fear, by having the word of the Lord Jesus in your head and in your heart. He is the answer we need at this hour. There is no other.

Now think on this,

Psalm 91 Amplified Bible (AMP)

Psalm 91

1 He who [a]dwells in the secret place of the Most High shall remain stable and fixed under the shadow of the Almighty [Whose power no foe can withstand].

2 I will say of the Lord, He is my Refuge and my Fortress, my God; on Him I lean and rely, and in Him I [confidently] trust!

3 For [then] He will deliver you from the snare of the fowler and from the deadly pestilence.

4 [Then] He will cover you with His pinions, and under His wings shall you trust and find refuge; His truth and His faithfulness are a shield and a buckler.

5 You shall not be afraid of the terror of the night, nor of the arrow (the evil plots and slanders of the wicked) that flies by day,

6 Nor of the pestilence that stalks in darkness, nor of the destruction and sudden death that surprise and lay waste at noonday.

7 A thousand may fall at your side, and ten thousand at your right hand, but it shall not come near you.

8 Only a spectator shall you be [yourself inaccessible in the secret place of the Most High] as you witness the reward of the wicked.

9 Because you have made the Lord your refuge, and the Most High your dwelling place,

10 There shall no evil befall you, nor any plague or calamity come near your tent.

11 For He will give His angels [especial] charge over you to accompany and defend and preserve you in all your ways [of obedience and service].

12 They shall bear you up on their hands, lest you dash your foot against a stone.

13 You shall tread upon the lion and adder; the young lion and the serpent shall you trample underfoot.

14 Because he has set his love upon Me, therefore will I deliver him; I will set him on high, because he knows and understands My name [has a personal knowledge of My mercy, love, and kindness—trusts and relies on Me, knowing I will never forsake him, no, never].

15 He shall call upon Me, and I will answer him; I will be with him in trouble, I will deliver him and honor him.

16 With long life will I satisfy him and show him My salvation.

Lyrics:

Many nights we've prayed
With no proof anyone could hear
In our hearts, a hopeful song
We barely understood

Now we are not afraid
Although we know there's much to fear
We were moving mountains long
Before we knew we could, oh yes

There can be miracles when you believe
Though hope is frail, it's hard to kill
Who knows what miracles you can achieve
When you believe, somehow you will
You will when you believe

Protection for Purpose in the Last Time - Now Think On This by Steve Martin

Protection for Purpose in the Last Time
- Now Think On This
by Steve Martin

“Praised be God, Father of our Lord Yeshua the Messiah, who, in keeping with His great mercy, has caused us, through the resurrection of Yeshua the Messiah from the dead, to be born again to a living hope, to an inheritance that cannot decay, spoil or fade, kept safe for you in heaven. Meanwhile, through trusting, you are being protected by God’s power for a deliverance ready to be revealed at the Last Time.

Rejoice in this, even though for a little while you may have to experience grief in various trials. Even gold is tested for genuineness by fire. The purpose of these trials is so that your trust’s genuineness, which is far more valuable than perishable gold, will be judged worthy of praise, glory and honor at the revealing of Yeshua the Messiah.”
1 Peter 1:3-7 Complete Jewish Bible

You would need to have your head buried in the sand to think that troubled times aren’t here in the nations, with more of it to come. In fact, for many, they have already been living in and through heavy trials and tribulation.

The Lord God Almighty has always protected His people. He has always been the One for those who have put their trust in Him, and stood on the Rock of His eternal Word. Without fail, He has kept His promises through the ages. He can do no other, being He alone is God.

With the naked eye it may not have looked that way at times. Even when going through the refining fire, both naturally and spiritually, He has brought His people, both Jew and Gentile, through the appointed and assigned pressures and problems, to bring about His exact purposes. Though literal fire, sword, torture or ongoing persecution have been part of the process for many believers, now and in times past, His wisdom has kept them through it all - for the salvation of their spirit, soul and body. Their final destination, in heaven with the King of kings and Lord of lords, has become their eternal resting place. The promised rewards that had awaited them for their faithfulness is now part of this completion in their lives.

We too are going to face hard times. We are not going to be just raptured out of this place for the sweet bye and bye. Not just yet anyway. We are instead going to remain here longer, and by receiving the rugged grace, true grit and supernatural courage to be the Body of Christ He has intended us to be, we will accomplish His will. We will be the ones who are to bring the Good News to those who will yet be saved from this evil and wicked generation.

The Lord has always left a remnant to be His light in the nations. The Jews, through the ages, have been the undeniable proof of His ability and trustworthiness in His keeping that light. Though they as a people have been through the meat grinder, and left for dead many times, they will again, along with His redeemed ones from the Gentile nations, boldly proclaim His redemption in these last days we are living in. It will occur before our living eyes.

I believe the words of the Jewish prophets, from ages gone by, that this redemption will happen. I believe the prophetic words of those speaking forth now, that these things will happen.

By His Holy Spirit, the Ruach HaKodesh of the God of Israel, He has also compelled me to write it like it is. Troubled times are coming. We are going to be here through them. His people will be lights in the nations because His heart is for the nations, and He had already determined that this is the way it will be. The Body of Messiah functioning as the living Body of Jesus Christ on earth, doing that which we have been destined to do.

Will many of us suffer? Of course we will, even as Jesus (Yeshua) Himself did. Even as the Jewish apostles Peter, Paul, James, John, Andrew, Phillip and all the rest did. Even as the early church disciples (and yes, they were primarily all Jews) did suffer. And yes we too will suffer, even as the Jew and Gentile saints, those who believed in Yeshua (Jesus) as the Messiah, did themselves suffer.

This has been written as an example and encouragement for us: “And what more shall I say? For time will fail me if I tell of Gideon, Barak, Samson, Jephthah, of David and Samuel and the prophets, who by faith conquered kingdoms, performed acts of righteousness, obtained promises, shut the mouths of lions, quenched the power of fire, escaped the edge of the sword, from weakness were made strong, became mighty in war, put foreign armies to flight.

Women received back their dead by resurrection; and others were tortured, not accepting their release, so that they might obtain a better resurrection; and others experienced mockings and scourgings, yes, also chains and imprisonment. They were stoned, they were sawn in two, they were tempted, they were put to death with the sword; they went about in sheepskins, in goatskins, being destitute, afflicted, ill-treated (men of whom the world was not worthy), wandering in deserts and mountains and caves and holes in the ground.

And all these, having gained approval through their faith, did not receive what was promised, because God had provided something better for us, so that apart from us they would not be made perfect.

Therefore, since we have so great a cloud of witnesses surrounding us, let us also lay aside every encumbrance and the sin which so easily entangles us, and let us run with endurance the race that is set before us, fixing our eyes on Jesus, the author and perfecter of faith, who for the joy set before Him endured the cross, despising the shame, and has sat down at the right hand of the throne of God.

For consider Him who has endured such hostility by sinners against Himself, so that you will not grow weary and lose heart.” (Heb 11:32-12:3 NASU)

Will some of us too be martyred? Yes. It is already happening in the Middle East and other nations, right before our eyes. I myself expect to be in that group of those who will be asked to testify of our faith, while facing the sword of death.

Protection in this last time will be ours first though, for one main purpose of being here to proclaim His Way, His Truth and His Life. With our open mouths, written words and courageous stance, we will remain here long enough to witness that last soul which is to come to the saving knowledge of Jesus Christ, Yeshua HaMashiach. This will result in them knowing the Salvation of their souls too.

We must not be afraid, nor let the fear that will come upon the nations come upon on. With our eyes kept on Jesus, the Author and Finisher of our faith, we will experience His protection to finish the call on our lives.

It won’t be easy, but it will be all worth it in the end. Crowns of glory await us who will give our lives for Him and the nations He loves.
