'Never Again': Holocaust Survivor Warns That Evil Is Rising Again in the New Anti-Semitism - CBN News

'Never Again': Holocaust Survivor Warns That Evil Is Rising Again in the New Anti-Semitism
03-01-2018
In 1945, there were more than 3 million Jewish survivors of the Holocaust. Today, that number has dwindled to less than 100,000.
At age 88, Irving Roth is one of them, and he still speaks out to audiences around the world about the horrors of the Holocaust and warns that we must prevent such evil from ever happening again.
Irving Roth was born in Kosice, Czechoslovakia, on September 2, 1929, and landed in New York Harbor in 1947 via Auschwitz and Buchenwald. The memories of the Nazi death camps never faded, and he devotes his time and efforts to educating young and old on the horrors of the Holocaust and the evils of prejudice and anti-Semitism.

Mr. Roth is the director of the Holocaust Resource Center – Temple Judea of Manhasset and an adjunct professor at the University of Maine. He is a recognized speaker on anti-Semitism and the Holocaust and is a frequent lecturer at colleges and universities in the United States, Canada and Europe. As a Holocaust survivor, he provides personal testimony on his experiences during WWII.
Gordon Robertson speaks with Holocaust survivor Irving Roth on Friday's 700 Club
Mr. Roth received the Spirit of Anne Frank Outstanding Citizen Award from the Anne Frank Center USA for promoting human rights, social justice and for conceiving, developing and initiating the Adopt a Survivor program. This program has been instituted nationally and internationally in public and parochial high schools and colleges. Mr. Roth edited and coordinated the publishing of a book titled Adopt a Survivor – An Antidote to Holocaust Amnesia.
He and his son, Rabbi Dr. Edward S. Roth, co-authored and publishedBondi's Brother, a book about his experiences before, during and after the Holocaust. They also published a Holocaust Study Guide for Social Studies and Language Arts Teachers that encompasses a complete curriculum on the Holocaust and is taught in conjunction with Bondi's Brother in elementary, middle and high schools as well as colleges. Bondi's Brother has been translated into Hungarian and Hebrew. Mr. Roth presented "papers" at Yad Vashem in Jerusalem, The Scholars Conference on the Holocaust and the Churches, CAJE (Conference on Alternatives in Jewish Education) and Facing History and Ourselves. He is the recipient of numerous awards for his work in Holocaust education and community service.
Mr. Roth is a frequent speaker for Christians United for Israel (CUFI)  chapters on college campuses all over the United States.

WATCH: Holocaust Survivor Becomes Israeli War Hero ✡ "I Will Give Them An Everlasting Name Which Shall Not Perish" - Israel365

I will give them, in My House And within My walls,
A monument and a name Better than sons or daughters. I will give them an everlasting name Which shall not perish.

Today's Israel Inspiration

Jerusalem’s world-renowned Holocaust museum, Yad Vashem, takes its name from the above Biblical verse. Yeshayahu articulates Hashem’s promise that even those who are unable to have sons and daughters will be memorialized in Yerushalayim by their “everlasting name.” According to its mission statement, the Yad Vashem museum, “safeguards the memory of the past and imparts its meaning for future generations.” Yad Vashem has collected and memorialized the names of over four million Jewish victims of Nazi persecution, and aims to persist until all 6,000,0000 names are recovered. The museum is often a first stop for visitors to the Jewish State, because to appreciate the State of Israel, one must understand the tragedy of the Holocaust. Tens of thousands of elderly Holocaust survivors are currently living in Israel. Many of these survivors are left without family and do not have the necessary means to provide for themselves. This Jewish New Year, warmly embrace these heroes by sending them a personalized gift of tea and honey.

The Holocaust Survivor who Fought in Every Israeli War

During the Holocaust Ze'ev Tibi Ram lost his whole family. He survived Auschwitz, a labour camp, and Bergen-Belsen. After being separated from his mother and eventually finding her at the end of the war, she disappeared and Tibi never saw her again. Now, Tibi gives lectures to soldiers about the holocaust and his extensive military experience.

Rainbow "Swastikas" Pulled from Shelves of Stores

After less than one month on the shelves, a storm of criticism has led KA Design to stop selling its ill-conceived line of clothing emblazoned with a rainbow colored “Swastikas of Peace.”

What is the meaning of Jerusalem?

The Hebrew name for Jerusalem, ‘Yerushalayim’ (ירושלים), contains the word ‘shalom,’ peace. The root of ‘shalom’ is ‘shalem,’ meaning whole or complete. Why do people fight against others? Because they are not whole or at peace with themselves. Once one is able to make themselves whole, that they can find inner peace, and are more likely to live peacefully with others as well. Throughout history and until this very day, many people come to Jerusalem to find their own inner peace.

The Transformation of Tel Aviv ✡ "The Radiance Of Hashem Will Lend Beauty And Glory", Holocaust Survivor Finally Arrives in Israel - Israel365

In that day, The radiance of Hashem Will lend beauty and glory, And the splendor of the land [Will give] dignity and majesty, to the survivors of Yisrael.

Today's Israel Inspiration

Ramban (Nachmanides) the Medieval Jewish scholar  writes that nowhere in the world would one find a land which is good and bountiful when settled by its people, but desolate when ruled by foreigners. However, this is exactly what Hashem promises regarding the Land of Israel, as it says in Vayikra (26:32), “I will make the land desolate, so that your enemies who settle in it shall be appalled by it.” This guarantees that throughout the ages, Eretz Yisrael will not accept its enemies; it will prosper only for the children of Israel. Today, one can see this blessing fulfilled, as her children have returned home. The land which lay desolate for centuries under foreign rule again flourishes and blooms, giving dignity and majesty to her people. Our beautiful, new 2017/2018 calendar is based on the fulfillment of this blessing. The calendar is entitled "Israel365 Then & Now: 70 Years of Prophecy Fulfilled."

Experience the Miraculous Transformation of the Land

You will be shocked at how much Israel had developed in such a short amount of time.

Can This Be the Beginning of the War to End All Wars?

American troops are en route to Lebanon  in an unlikely alliance with terror group Hezbollah and the regime of Syrian President Bashar al Assad in a development that could be the final stage preceding the War of Gog and Magog.

"Fear Not"- The most commonly used phrase in the Bible

The words "fear not" appear 80 times in the Torah. This is more than any other phrase in the BIble. God says these words to all three patriarchs; Abraham, Isaac and Jacob as well as to all of the prophets. God also instructs the prophets to relay this message to the Jewish People. By repeating this phrase over and over, God is telling us that we have the power and the capacity to overcome any challenges which we may face in life.

Today's Israel Inspiration

Psalm 91 is special, as it includes Hashem’s response at the end. By contrast most of the other Tehillim are presented in only one direction, with man speaking to, or about, the Lord. Rarely do we find a psalm that includes an expression of God recognizing the faith that man has shown and responding in kind, offering comfort. The psalmist conveys the message that one who puts his hope and trust in Hashem will ultimately see the rewards of His guidance and providence. Verse 15 is therefore seen as one of the most comforting ideas in all of the psalms. The committed servant of God knows that even when he may falter and, as a result, be sent out of the land, Hashem will still hear his call and eventually save him. God is “with him in distress;” He follows his servants into exile, and is ready to bring them home as soon they are ready to call out to Him. This can be no more true than in the case of Hashem providing salvation to the Jews who survived the Holocaust and delivered them to the Land of Israel. Holocaust survivors living in Israel exemplify God comforting his nation and filling his promise to ultimately save the Jewish people. Unfortunately, there are many elderly Holocaust survivors living in Israel who are in need of financial assistance in order to buy food and medication. These survivors have endured unimaginable nightmares in their lifetime. Now, let us help them live out the remainder of their lives in peace and comfort. Please help support the heroic Holocaust survivors in Israel.

Hoards of Jews Pray at Joseph's Tomb on Jewish Day of Love

An estimated 1,000 Jews arrived on Monday night for an overnight prayer vigil at the Tomb of Joseph adjacent to the Biblical city of Shechem (Nablus).

The Jewish New Year is Around the Corner

Mentioned throughout Jewish sources, the sound of the shofar was used at various times, including at the giving of the Torah at Mount Sinai. Today, the shofar is used on the Jewish New Year, Rosh Hashanah, when that same sound has the unique power to awaken our souls to the presence of its Infinite source, and to renew a vision of the spiritual connection we are meant to build in this world.
