Following Biblical Dictates is Back in Style! ✡ "Walk Humbly With Thy God" - ISRAEL365

It hath been told thee O man what is good and what Hashem doth require of thee: only to do justly and to love mercy and to walk humbly with thy God.

Today's Israel Inspiration

Though it may not always appear as such at first glance, every single verse in the Bible comes to teach a truly powerful lesson about humanity and the values with which each person should live by. Today's verse is no different: God requires from us to walk humbly each day of our lives. Our commentators explain that 'humbly' does not only mean that one should not be haughty, but that one should live modestly. There are many ways one may interpret this instruction: whether it refers to how one should behave day-to-day, how one should dress, even how one should approach his or her fellow. Modest fashionistas Sara Wolf and Daniella Teutsch, co-founders of Hydrochic, a company that designs and creates modest swim and activewear for women of all ages, deeply believe in the importance of this teaching and bringing it into their lives in a very real way. Through their devotion to God's commandment, they are bringing "tzniut" (modesty) back in style!

Rings in the Bible

Throughout the Bible, we see rings worn by people of high power and status. In Genesis, the Pharoh of Egypt bestows his ring to Joseph signifying his promotion of Joseph to a new position; "And Pharaoh took off his signet ring from his hand, and put it upon Yosef’s hand, and arrayed him in vestures of fine linen, and put a gold chain about his neck" (Genesis 41:42) Similarly, in the Book of Esther, whenever the King Achashveirosh hands his ring over to an individual it is accompanied by s shift in power and authority; "And the king took off his ring, which he had taken from Haman, and gave it unto Mordechai. And Esther set Mordechai over the house of Haman." (Esther 8:2) Connect to the characters of the Bible by wearing your own ring from the Land of Israel.

Today's Israel Photo

Today's photo by Ron Shoshani is of the Jezreel Vallley, known in Hebrew as "Emek Izrael". Did you know the Jezreel Valley is considered one of the most fertile pieces of Land in Israel? The plain is covered with fields of wheat, watermelon, melon, and numerous other crops, as well as provides grazing tracts for multitudes of sheep and cattle.

“I Am Always Awed By the People of Israel”

It’s great to hear from you and make new friends from all over the world. Please send me an email and let me know how you are enjoying Israel365 (don’t forget to say where you are from!).

I love your site and the information it gives. Every so often I pull up Google Earth on Israel and go to the parks and various other things. I am always awed by what the people of Israel have accomplished with the help of God. I seems as if there are lots of resorts.vacation spots to visit. As I do this it gives a good impression of the people of Israel as to how they handle day to day living in a war zone filled with so many who wish them harm. My prayers are with them.
Shalom,
