In the fall of 2025, my good wife Laurie (48 years and counting) and I had the most incredible time in Jerusalem and many parts of Israel. We had come to be with Christian Friends of Israel Jerusalem, as needed.

As I sit on the back veranda of the apartment they provided for us, I watch the sun rise over the southeast as another of His glorious days begins. My heart is full of the love of Yeshua (Jesus) for this, His chosen city, His chosen Land, and His chosen people, the Jews.

We came to bring comfort to His people coming out from a heartbreaking war on the eight fronts the Israel Defense Forces (IDF) were fighting, after the horrendous, murderous, home destruction day of October 7, 2023. The Israelis had been fighting for their lives, their families, their land promised to them by the Living God of Israel. We hoped to bring His love to them as Christians, standing on His Word.

God the Father did not fail them. In so many miraculous ways, He protected them, united them, and caused them to cry out to Him for His salvation.

Over 1200 Jewish civilians were lost that day. Over 1000 young men, women, and reserves have since been lost, destroyed by the enemy who seems never to go away.

“We just want peace,” is the cry of our friends’ hearts here in Jerusalem and the surrounding hills.

But, when the Messiah Yeshua returns to this very city, Jerusalem, they will know Him as their Peace King, their Shalom Most High.

As that time of His return quickly approaches, we joined with several hundred Christians, coming from the nations, to comfort, stand in support, and let the love of the Father work through us for them.

In this, my 40th book, written during my 30th trip to Israel since the late 1990s, I share some of my stories. Some of the 28 chapters are in the “present tense” because I wrote them at the time they occurred. You will also see over 150 photos of Israel.

Many Jews are returning to their Land now, as prophesied centuries ago by Ezekiel, Jeremiah, Isaiah, and Yeshua Himself. Christians are going to Israel to comfort and support them in their return.

And then Jesus (Yeshua) will return as the King of kings and Lord of lords.

I desire that the Lord Himself will touch your heart, and you, too, will join Him in this glorious work, to see His salvation come to the Jews and Arabs of Israel.

When men understand who they are, they accomplish things that they were created to be and do.

This book seeks to encourage those men who know our current culture needs to return to godly principles, biblical foundations, and healthy families.

We need to walk in the steps the Lord, Father of All, gave us to heed, as we hear and obey.

While this book is not a full Bible study on the role of men, taught by a man who has lived for over seven decades, it is an encouragement to seek the Lord, know His ways as we daily walk with Him, and succeed in the calling He has for each of us.

I share some of what I have learned, as the Bible instructs us to do.

“The things which you have heard from me in the presence of many witnesses, entrust these to faithful men who will be able to teach others also.” 2 Timothy 2:2, NASB.

Put into practice then what you can, and allow the Holy Spirit to continue to instruct and encourage you along the way.

Where it all began...must have been in Lawrence, Kansas, in August of 2025. My good wife Laurie and I flew to Kansas City to be with one of my sisters (I have 5), Janet, and her husband, Nate. It was a very pleasant time of touring the city, the countryside, the small towns, and the parks found in central Kansas.

When Nate told me about his "$4.95 Sip and What Not" (not the real name) at the local coffee-and-bagel restaurant, I just had to do it. I was raised looking for the "good deals".

When we got back to Charlotte, North Carolina, I checked out the local one. And sure enough, every morning I could get a cup of coffee (limit one every two hours, mind you), and I liked adding a blueberry bagel just to ease my conscience.

Lo and behold, this website began with that theme. "Morning Place To Be."

I like to write, so this will be one of those "not so heavy with all the news" places to go, as you, too, enjoy your coffee every morning.

As they say (sometimes, though it gets worn out), "Enjoy."

As you seek Him, He will lead you to places you have never dreamed of, giving you missions you had never thought possible, and will direct your steps to complete the total picture He has for you, as you take your place in His Body among the peoples of the nations.

Yhis, my 39th book, came out in August 2025. In several of my previous 38 books, I wrote stories and chapters on Israel and our friends in the Land. Their lives, their courage, and the Ahava Adventures we have had, sharing our time with them in Eretz Israel.

Throughout our lives, God keeps His hand on our shoulders and nudges us on to more than what we could ever realize. I am excited to share how He did it this with me, and am confident mine will be a story you’ll be able to relate to.

As I unveil my story, think back to those times when you knew there was something more but you just couldn’t put your finger on it. You knew deep down that life wasn’t what the TV sitcoms portrayed it to be. In our souls, there is the hope, the cry for more, that someday questions will be answered and promises fulfilled if we just kept plugging away at what we know to do.

God the Father to choose a people who will be a light to the nations. He chose the Jews, and gave them the Promised Land of Israel. It does not matter what other national governments try to say, do, or accomplish apart from the plans and purposes of the Lord. They will fail. His Word is true. It is eternal. He is the same, yesterday, today and forever, and thus His commitment in keeping His promises made to the Jewish people will be fulfilled. I hope you stand with them in these last days.

It all started back in October 2018 when I made, what I thought was going to be the finishing one, my last trip to Israel. Since my inceptive journey in 1987 with the first ministry I served with, Mahesh Chavda Ministries (living at the time in Fort Lauderdale, Florida), I had since that time made 19 trips to the Holy Land, the Promised Land of the Jews. 

This October 2018 trip was my 20th, and just prior to going I had decided it would be my last. A few months ahead of this trip, discouragement had come upon me, and I felt I could no longer continue the work of the ministry, Love For His People, which my good wife Laurie and I had founded in April 2010. That had been, quite literally, following the inspiration of the Lord Jesus, after I had continually cried out to Him for many years, wanting “my own vineyard.” 

It was a dream of myself, like others, to be “fulltime” in ministry, but after the longevity serving under the leadership of others, I longed for my own.That can happen to one after serving long and hard for and with three other well-known men (and their wives) in their ministries.Oh, how the Lord loves us. Oh, how He leads us in His paths of righteousness for His Name’s sake. Oh, how He directs our steps and leads us in the way we are to go. He is Faithful, and He who called us is ever True. He does not ever give up on us.

Sometime during the latter part of those 10 days in October 2018, walking by myself down the ancient streets of Jerusalem’s Old City to visit friends and familiar sites; traversing the bustling sidewalks and side streets of the new.

It was a clear word, though not audibly. But being His friend too, I knew it was Him.“This is not your last trip to Jerusalem. 

In fact, from now on you will be coming twice a year.”“I will?” I responded skeptically, internally. “And if so, then You are going to have to help me pay for it. I cannot.”“You do as I say out of obedience. I will take care of the provision.” He made sure I understood what He had just said, with a firm, “make sure you get this” response, but with plenty of hope, faith, and love covering His words.That was then. 

And today, as I write these first words of my next prophesied book (#25!) on September 11, 2019, Wednesday early morning at my home near south Charlotte, North Carolina (the day when Americans remember the attack of 9-11, 18 years later), the plans have been tediously put together for my 22nd trip back to Israel, and our Lord’s beloved city of Jerusalem, it’s capital, and His chosen people dwelling there. And coming along with me this time are three other men.

I will tell you that story as time goes by, as you read of the “rest of the story” - as Paul Harvey, the Chicago area radio and TV man, liked to say decades ago. But what follows is just an inkling of what is yet to come.

Our God, the living God of Israel, is an awesome God. He is alive and well, and in full control of what is happening in these days we live in. His love and mercy are on display daily, as He draws His people to Himself, both Jews and Gentiles. I have compiled these Now Think On These into another book, messages written over the last months, and added the Jerusalem Log daily updates from my trip to Israel May 1-May 9, 2017. 

I hope you will be encouraged in your daily walk with the Lord through the reading of them. If you know Jesus (Yeshua) you know that He is there day in and day out, leading and directing us to become more conformed to Him, and be a witness in the earth. If you do not know Him yet, I pray these words (and photos) will move your heart ever closer to the point when you do. Be blessed, with the shalom (peace) and ahava (love) of the Lord.
