Deepening Our Roots in the Holy Land ✡ "Plantest Them in the Mountain" - ISRAEL365

Thou bringest them in, and plantest them in the mountain of Thine inheritance, the place, O Hashem, which Thou hast made for Thee to dwell in, the sanctuary, O Lord, which Thy hands have established.

Today's Israel Inspiration

"The mountain of Thine inheritance" is understood to be either the Temple Mount or the entire Land of Israel. When Hashem says that the Jewish people will be planted in the Land of Israel, He means that they will establish roots there and flourish. The Midrash explains that this is a reference to the times of Mashiach, when the Children of Israel will be brought back to the Land of Israel, never to be uprooted again. For two thousand years, Jews have been asking for the fulfillment of this verse each week as part of the Shabbat prayers, "that you should bring us with happiness to our land and plant us in our borders". Now you can help bring God's promise to fruition and deepen Judaism's roots in the Holy Land.

"Looking Out" over the ramparts of the ancient city of Jerusalem, one can see the Montefiore Windmill. The windmill was erected through the efforts of noted British Jewish banker and philanthropist Moses Montefiore. Today it proudly stands in the midst of the Mishkenot Sha'ananim neighborhood.

Yesterday's Photo Trivia

If you guessed Rosh Hanikra, you are correct! For thousands of years, the ocean's waves pounding against the rocks have formed the most beautiful grottoes in the northern city of Rosh Hanikra, which is located near Haifa. Rosh Hanikra's stunning geological formations are now a popular tourist attraction and a calming place of serenity.

Shalom from Kokomo, Indiana. My wife & I embrace Israel and believe it is the rightful country set aside for the chosen people of God. We are Christians and yet stand firm for the Jewish culture and beliefs.  As Gentiles we too love our Holy Father God. We struggle in America because of hatred, violence and cruelty and yet fail in comparison to the enormous struggles of our Jewish  friends. May God's blessings pour in abundance His deep love and mercy for all of Israel. Many Americans stand in solidarity with Israel and will fight along side if the need comes. God bless you and God bless and enrich all of Israel and protect the IDF. Shalom my friend. Ken Rainey

Deepening Our Roots in 5777 ✡ "Bnei Yisrael Came to Her" - ISRAEL365

And she sat under the palm-tree of Devorah between Ramah and Beit El in the hill-country of Ephraim; and Bnei Yisrael came up to her for judgment.

Today's Israel Inspiration

During the period following Joshua's conquest over the Land of Israel and his ultimate passing, The Jewish nation was ruled by judges who guided the people and helped them focus on what God required from them. One such judge was Deborah, or Devorah in Hebrew. Unlike many of her predecessors, Devorah chose to settle herself at the base of a palm tree. It was here that the Jews would approach the prophetess, asking her to help settle disputes, clarify decisions, or even to pass judgment. According to one interpretation in the Talmud, Devorah's choice to sit beneath the palm tree had significant symbolism. Just as the palm tree's branches issue forth from one source i.e. the heart of the tree, so too the generation living in Devorah's time were wholly united, beating as one heart, for their Father in Heaven.

A single photo featuring both the Hermon mountain and almond blossoms in bloom comes to teach us the dichotomy of wonders in Israel's nature and a very deep message: that even in the coldest of months, or in the darkest of times, there is always the potential for growth!
