Uncover Hashem's Godliness ✡ "Invoked There The Name Of Hashem" - Israel365

Uncover Hashem's Godliness

The Hebrew word used in this verse for everlasting olam (עולם), also means “world” or “universe”. The word olam is closely related to the word ne’elam (נעלם), meaning ‘hidden.’ The phrase “El Olam” (אל עולם), ‘Everlasting God,’ alludes to the fact that Hashem (God)  is also king over that which is hidden from us. Hashem has specifically designed a world that is ruled by the laws of nature and hides His presence.  It is up to man to see past His mask and reveal the Godliness that is hidden throughout the universe.

Be'er Sheva in the Bible and Today

Be'er Sheva is one of the first cities in the Land of Israel mentioned in the Torah (Bible). The name Be’er Sheva (באר שבע), is made up of two Hebrew words.  Be’er (באר) means ‘well', and the second part of the word is made up of the root sheva ש-ב-ע, which means both ‘seven’ and ‘oath'. Thus, Be’er Sheva can mean either ‘well of the seven’ or ‘well of the oath.’ Modern day Be'er Sheva is a thriving city and home to a diverse community of Israelis. The Ethiopian schoolgirls pictured above are harvesting crops from a field in one of Be'er Sheva's many agricultural areas.

Israel's Seven Holy Cities ✡ "Hence That Place Was Called Be’er Sheva" - Israel365

Hence that place was called Be’er Sheva, for there the two of them swore an oath.

עַל־כֵּן קָרָא לַמָּקוֹם הַהוּא בְּאֵר שָׁבַע כִּי שָׁם נִשְׁבְּעוּ שְׁנֵיהֶם

Today's Israel Inspiration

In the above verse, Avraham names the place where he entered the covenant with Abimelech Be’er Sheva. The name Be’er Sheva (באר שבע), is made up of two Hebrew words.  Be’er (באר) means well, hinting to the fact that this covenant acknowledged Avraham’s right to the water well. The second part of the word is made up of the root ש-ב-ע, which means both ‘seven’ and ‘oath.’ Thus, Be’er Sheva can mean either well of the seven or well of the oath. This double meaning hints both to the seven female sheep set aside by Avraham as verification of the oath, and to the oath taken with regard to the well itself. Today, the modern city of Be'er Sheva is a bustling center with a rapidly growing population of over 200,000. Renowned Rabbi and educator Yishai Fleisher teaches a fascinating class online at the Yeshiva for the Nations entitled "The Seven Holy Cities of Israel," which include Be'er Sheva, Hebron, Beit Lechem, Beit-El, Tzfat, Shechem and Jerusalem. This online academy enables students to study with rabbis from Israel from the comfort of their own home.

Messiah Will Come When Torah Flows From Israel’s Seven Holy Cities

When Israel regains control of all of Israel’s seven cities and Torah can flow freely from within them, the Messiah will come, said Rabbi Yishai Fleisher.
