Hebrew Lesson on Bible's Most Important Virtue ✡ "As an Eagle Awakens" - ISRAEL365

As an eagle awakens its nest, hovering over its fledglings, it spreads its wings, taking them and carrying them on its pinions. [So] the Lord guided them alone.

Today's Israel Inspiration

The Bible tells us that a certain bird called a chassidah (a stork) is not kosher, and our Sages explain the reason: it is cruel to birds of other species. Yet if we look more closely, the bird's name "chassidah" comes from the Hebrew word "chessed" which means kindness! This bird does indeed display kindness toward its own species by sharing food. The Bible teaches us, however, that the kosher form of chessed is to bestow kindness on all people, regardless of our differences. Colel Chabad, Israel's oldest continuous charity, has been extending its helping hand to Israel's neediest citizens since 1788. This summer, Colel Chabad is bringing camp to hospitalized sick children throughout Israel, and needs our help to purchase arts and crafts, toys, puzzles and more!

Elie Wiesel: Universal Lessons of the Holocaust

Elie Wiesel, of blessed memory, focused upon the universal lessons that emerged from the Holocaust and the obligation to carry those messages to the world.

Summer of Safety for
Israel's Youth

Ten years ago in Israel’s holy city of Safed, Colel Chabad started a life-saving youth club for kids from difficult backgrounds. Today, many of their graduates have succeeded in Israel’s army and are productive citizens.

Great Hebrew Lesson of the Day ✡ "Protecting and Rescuing" - ISRAEL365

Like flying birds, so will God protect Jerusalem, protecting and rescuing, passing over and delivering.

k'-tzi-pa-reem a-fot kayn ya-gayn a-do-nai tz'-va-ot al y'-ru-sha-la-yeem ga-non v'-hi-tzeel pa-so-akh v'-him'-leet

Today's Israel Inspiration

In our verse, Isaiah uses the Hebrew word  "hi-tzeel" to describe God as the ultimate "rescuer" of the Holy City. Those who love God search for ways to emulate Him, andrescuing lives in Jerusalem fulfills His word. Israel's largest, volunteer rescue organization took its name from the same Hebrew, biblical root, "Hatzalah" - to rescue and save lives in God's cities across Israel. United Hatzalah volunteers provide the Nation of Israel with rapid, professional, pre-ambulance emergency care with an average record-breaking response time of 3 minutes or less. To maintain and expand their operations, United Hatzalah needs ambucycles and updated gear. Help "rescue" the injured and sick of Israel today and your donation will be DOUBLED this week only!

Save One Life, Save a World

Nary a day goes by in the Holy Land without the average Israeli citizen witnessing a first response United Hatzalah volunteer rushing to an emergency on an ambucycle.

Just yesterday we commemorated the miraculous reunification of Jerusalem during the Six Day War. The ancient alleyways of the Old City are best reached by Hatzalah's ambucycles in case of emergency - first responders at countless terror attacks in Jerusalem.

Hebrew Lesson of the Day ✡ "May You See Children Born" - ISRAEL365

May you see children born to your children,
peace upon Israel.

וּרְאֵה בָנִים לְבָנֶיךָ שָׁלוֹם עַל יִשְׂרָאֵל

תהילים קכח:ו

ur-ay va-neem l’-va-ne-kha sha-lom al yis-ra-ayl

Today's Israel Inspiration

The name “Israel” refers to both the Land and the People and has a deeper meaning as well. The first letter of the word "Israel" is the י - yud, which is the smallest letter in the Hebrew alphabet. The final letter in "Israel" is the tall lamed - ל, the largest letter in the alphabet. The very name of the Jewish people, ישראל - Yisrael, alludes to both its humble beginnings as well as its exalted destiny. Today in Israel, TikvahHope assists poor Israeli children move past their difficult beginnings to reach a successful destiny. In their incredible new youth center in Sderot, on the Israeli-Gaza border, TikvaHope gives nourishing meals and support to the city's neediest children, in a safe, loving afternoon program.

“Thank You for the Very Educational Emails”

It’s great to hear from so many of you - stay in touch and let us know where in the world you are enjoying Israel365!

Hi A blessed day to you Rabbi Tuly. Thank you for the very educational emails you've been sending. They help me understand where I am as a Christian as well as the prophecies in the Bible. God bless you more.- Fred Lumba

Hello Rabbi Weisz, Just wanted to let you know that I'm another evangelical Christian who believes that God gave the land of Israel to the Jewish people forever.  And now that they're back in it, there's no way they will ever be driven out again.  You can take that to the bank!  Furthermore, I make it my aim to bless the Jewish people, knowing the promise that God made to Abraham and his descendants...So, Blessings and Peace be to you.- David Smith
