Report: Israeli Jets Enter Iranian Airspace, Target Major Cities - Israel Today

Report: Israeli Jets Enter Iranian Airspace, Target Major Cities

Friday, March 30, 2018 |  Israel Today Staff
Arab media reported this week that Israeli fighter jets recently entered Iranian airspace and locked on to targets in several major Iranian cities.
The jets in question were all from Israel's new fleet of advanced F-35 stealth fighters, which were able to carry out the probing mission without detection by Iran's Russian-supplied air defenses.
All this according to the Kuwaiti newspaper Al-Jarida.
The newspaper reported that two Israeli F-35s flew over Syria and Iraq, presumably in coordination with American forces in the region, before penetrating Iranian airspace and circling high over three large Iranian cities - Bandar Abbas, Esfahan and Shiraz.
All three cities house major components of Iran's nuclear program, and the Israeli jets practiced locking on to these targets before returning safely to Israel.

REPORTS: Israeli Jets Bomb Chemical Weapons Stockpile Deep Inside Syria - Israel Today

REPORTS: Israeli Jets Bomb Chemical Weapons Stockpile Deep Inside Syria

Friday, September 08, 2017 |  Israel Today Staff
A large military facility where the Syria regime was stockpiling chemical weapons and missiles was bombed in the early hours of Thursday morning.
Damascus immediately blamed Israel for the attack, and Israel did not deny the allegation.
The facility is located near Masyaf, in northwestern Syria, a region still firmly under the control of Syrian President Bashar Assad's forces and their allies.
The official Syrian Arab News Agency reported:
"Israeli warplanes fired several rockets from the Lebanese airspace at 02:42 a.m. on Thursday targeting one of the Syrian military posts near Massyaf, killing two army personnel and causing material damage to the site."
Syrian military forces claimed the Israeli strike was carried out in service to ISIS and other Islamic groups trying to topple Assad.
In reality, Israel has long been concerned that non-conventional weapons being stockpiled and used by Assad's forces will also be shared with his allies in the Lebanese terrorist militia Hezbollah.
Israel has vowed to immediately target any Syrian arms transfers to Hezbollah to ensure the Lebanese group does not emerge from Syria's civil war more dangerous and deadly than ever.
For Hezbollah to take possession of chemical warheads would represent an unacceptable shift in the balance of power.
Israeli military officials declined to comment on the incident.

Israeli Jets Fly With, Face Off Against Muslim Air Forces - Israel Today Staff

Israeli Jets Fly With, Face Off Against Muslim Air Forces

Wednesday, August 17, 2016 |  Israel Today Staff
For the second year in a row, the Israel Air Force is taking part in Red Flag, the world’s largest air force training exercise, hosted annually at Nellis Air Force base in Nevada.
Besides Israel and the American hosts, the current maneuvers also include the air forces of Pakistan, the United Arab Emirates and Spain.
During Red Flag, the participating nations are split into two teams before engaging in mock aerial combat, search and rescue, ground attacks and various other missions.
Last year, Israel was joined by the air forces of Singapore and Jordan. Reportedly, the Israeli delegation refueled a number of the Jordanian fighters midair during the long flight to the United States.
In addition to the unique and high-quality training opportunities afforded by Red Flag, the Israelis see it as a sort of diplomatic mission that allows them to forge connections with the armed forces of nations with which Israel has no formal diplomatic relations.
