Shabbat Inspiration

This week's Torah portion (Genesis 41:1-44:17) describes Joseph naming his sons in Egypt, revealing his innermost feelings and mindset in exile. Despite ruling as second in command over all of Egypt, Joseph refers to Egypt as a "land of affliction." He never forgot where he truly belonged, and yearned to return to his father's house in the Land of Israel. In Hebrew, the popular name Ephraim means "fruitful." “I Look Forward to Keeping Up With What's Happening in the Land I Love”

It’s great to hear from so many of you - stay in touch and let us know where in the world you are enjoying Israel365!

Hi Tuly, Thank you for the happiness you bring to me to hear that the Israeli people rate high on happiness. I pray most days for the peace of Israel as God commands so I believe that happiness the Israelis experience is a confirmation and out working of those prayers and I know the prayers of many others who pray similarly. Also you are a special people with God's fire in your DNA. He is so awesome!!! Keep up the happiness, courage and joy. Standing with you. Blessings, Elizabeth Aplin

I live in Texas but I love Israel and its people. I have an olive tree planted on the Sea of Galilee with my name on it. I feel like part of me is already in Israel. I pray for Israel according to God's Word.  Thank you for the news.  I look forward to keeping up with what's happening in the land that I love.- Shirley Moore
