Satiate Your Israel Taste Buds ✡ "Filled With Good" - ISRAEL365

For He hath satisfied the longing soul,
and the hungry soul He hath filled with good.

כִּי הִשְׂבִּיעַ נֶפֶשׁ שֹׁקֵקָה וְנֶפֶשׁ רְעֵבָה מִלֵּא טוֹב

תהילים קז:ט

Today's Israel Inspiration

The surface meaning of today's verse teaches that should you ever find yourself hungryor thirsty, God is the one who will provide the sources to satiate your pangs. But as is true with all verses from King David's book of Psalms, there exists a deeper underlying message. Though David's words were a reaction to having witnessed people perishing from hunger and thirst, our sages teach that the verse is not referring to the physical, material needs of the human body. Rather, the "satisfaction" and "good" apply to the spiritual yearnings of the soul. The metaphysical desires are innate, borne with our creation, and only by seeking God can we ever hope to fill the powerful pangs for spiritual nourishment. By following Hashem's commandments and laws, we can be sure to enjoy both physical and supernal pleasures that life has to offer. Satiate your soul and nourish your body with the purity of Galilee Green olive oil.
