What Is God Saying to America in 2016? - J. LEE GRADY CHARISMA NEWS

The church must continue to build the bridge of racial reconciliation in 2016.
The church must continue to build the bridge of racial reconciliation in 2016. (United Methodist Church)
I've been accused of being a prophet, and I cringe every time because (1) I don't like the title, and (2) I'm not comfortable with the way some Christians put prophetic people on pedestals. The gift of prophecy is certainly needed today, but we should never turn prophets into celebrities or follow them like gurus. Nor should we cheapen prophecy by turning it into a Christian form of fortune telling.
True prophecy is the holy proclamation of God's will and purpose in a particular situation. It is possible to discern what God is saying to a specific church or even a nation. And I believe He is saying some very specific things to the United States. I do not claim to know every detail, nor is the list below complete. The Bible says "we prophesy in part" (1 Cor. 13:9)—and that's why other prophets should add what is missing.
I believe God is most definitely saying these things to us today:
1. We shouldn't look to politicians from either party to save us. At this point, unity among conservative Christian voters looks impossible—especially since most black churchgoers and a big percentage of Hispanic Christians will vote for the Democratic ticket. The bigger question is this: Regardless of whether we have Clinton, Rubio, Trump, Cruz, Carson or even Sanders, will the "right" president deliver our country from its problems? We've had both liberals and conservatives in the White House over the past three decades, but neither party has stopped our morals from sinking or our families from disintegrating. Only a sovereign intervention from heaven can help us now. We can vote our consciences, but we must look to God to heal America.
God is saying: "Ask Me for a spiritual awakening, not a political victory."
2. The church must be equipped to heal broken people like never before. The family has been fragmenting at an alarming rate over the past few decades—and the number of young people who grew up with a father and mother in the home has dwindled to a minority. This will have huge implications for the church in the next few years, and if we are not trained to handle the pain, the church will lose the battle. It is time for every church to prepare an army of healers. Christian marriages are in crisis. Sex addiction is rampant. The transgender movement, along with the Supreme Court's decision to redefine marriage, now poses huge new challenges for kids and teens today—and we cannot meet this test without the Holy Spirit's power. The church must train counselors to deal with divorce, abandonment, abuse, domestic violence, gender confusion, sexual perversion and all the other problems associated with family breakdown.
God is saying: "Heal the brokenhearted and give them My compassion!"
3. Aging churches must embrace change—and discard outdated religious baggage. A huge number of Bible-believing churches have already become irrelevant to the culture because they have refused to update their styles and reconfigure their methods. Our gospel is unchangeable, but our methods must adapt to the needs of people. We only have a window of time to make these changes; old wineskins will soon become useless. Denominations must be open to innovative leadership and new ideas—or their lamps will go out. It is a time for drastic measures. Churches that seek God for His new direction will enter into a new season of fruitfulness and growth.
God is saying: "The season of spiritual barrenness is over, if you seek Me. I will break the yoke of dead, dry religion and release a fresh anointing so you can reach your cities."
4. The church must build the bridge of racial reconciliation. God is serious: He wants us to root out racism in the evangelical churches of America. He is not happy that we have dragged our feet on this! Government programs and political speeches don't have the power to heal the problems we saw in 2015 in Ferguson, Baltimore, Charleston or Chicago. The church has been given the "ministry of reconciliation" (see 2 Cor. 5:18), and reconciliation will only work when black, white and Hispanic church leaders engage the enemy together.
God is saying: "A banner has been unfurled over this year, declaring Psalm 133:1: 'Behold, how good and how pleasant it is for brothers to dwell together in unity!'"
5. We must open our hearts to foreigners. Our national discussion about immigration, refugees and Muslims has exposed a spirit of bigotry and hatefulness, even among followers of Jesus. Today the world looks at the United States and wonders if we really are still a nation that believes all people are created equal. Our racism and nationalism have erected more walls than bridges. If we truly want to be Pentecostal in our theology, we must embrace the foreigners who are drawn to Christ by the Holy Spirit. This doesn't mean we throw out immigration policies, or allow terrorists to enter the U.S., but it does require us to make room in our cold hearts for the people God is bringing into our communities.
God is saying: "My house shall be called a house of prayer for all nations! Open your doors to everyone I am sending to you!"
6. We must focus our prayers on the Islamic world. In the 1980s, Christians prayed for seven years for the collapse of Soviet communism. But when the Berlin Wall fell in 1989, most believers were shocked that God answered those prayers. The same doubt exists today; many Christians focus only on the evils of ISIS rather than considering the possibility of a massive move of God among Muslims. We must pray expecting the Islamic Curtain to fall. Iran, Pakistan, Saudi Arabia, even Yemen—unbelievable spiritual shifts will take place in these nations in response to the prayers of God's people!
God is saying: "Is anything too hard for Me? My Word will not be chained. I will pull back the veil of Islam and shine My light in the darkest places."
7. We should expect a spiritual awakening to break out among young people.I've never been more convinced that we are going to see a fresh wave of the Holy Spirit's power to hit this country—and I'm looking for it to erupt in our high schools and on our college campuses. It will take a miracle—since God is not exactly welcome in these secular environments. But when one fire starts blazing, others will catch. I fully expect to see America's college students praying, fasting, preaching and worshiping so radically that something akin to the Jesus movement of the 1970s happens again. The music of this next movement will grab the world's attention. The testimonies of transformed lives will end up on the mainstream news. Social media will provide the platform to spread this campus revival quickly.
God is saying: "I will call a new generation to serve Me, and they will boldly proclaim My gospel—even in the strongholds of secularism. I will have radical followers even in the Ivy League schools."

Bombshell Report Reveals Obama Spied on Netanyahu During Iran Negotiations By Lea Speyer - BREAKING ISRAEL NEWS

Obama Abandons Israel

Bombshell Report Reveals Obama Spied on Netanyahu During Iran Negotiations

“That He will deliver thee from the snare of the fowler, and from the noisome pestilence.” (Psalm 91:3)
In a bombshell revelation, the US National Security Agency (NSA), under direction of US President Barack Obama, has been eavesdropping on phone conversations between top Israeli officials and American-Jewish groups and US lawmakers, the Wall Street Journal reported on Tuesday.
Citing current and former US officials as sources, the Obama administration is believed to have intercepted classified information on Israel’s stance against the Iran nuclear deal to be used against Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu.
Among various tactics used by the NSA, spying on Jerusalem included “a cyber implant in Israeli networks,” which would open up access to information in Netanyahu’s office.
According to the report, the NSA informed the White House of Netanyahu’s strategy to leak certain details, which were gathered through Israeli espionage operations, of the US-Iran negotiations that could ultimately put Israel in great peril.
NSA reports, delivered to top Obama administration officials, allowed the White House to gain insider information on Israeli lobbying efforts in Congress to turn away support from the nuclear deal.
The Journal described how Israeli Ambassador to the United States Ron Dermer coached pro-Israel groups on how to formulate their arguments in opposition of the Iran agreement when meeting with US lawmakers. An Israeli Embassy spokesman in Washington told the Journal that this was “total nonsense.”
Want to know what the experts have to say?
In January 2014, Obama declared that the US would limit its foreign eavesdropping operations on allies following espionage revelations by former NSA contractor and whistle-blower Edward Snowden.
According to the Journal, while a number of friendly leaders such as German Chancellor Angela Merkel and French President Francois Hollande were declared off-limits, Obama cited “compelling national security purpose” to continue monitoring Netanyahu.
“Going dark on Bibi? Of course we wouldn’t do that,” a senior US administration officials told the Journal.
Following Israel’s launch of lobbying efforts against the Iran deal on Capitol Hill, the report stated that Obama administration and intelligence officials quickly realized the NSA was gathering the content of conversations between Israel and US lawmakers.

While a 2011 NSA directive stated communications between members of Congress and foreign intelligence targets must be destroyed upon interception, the NSA director can issue a waiver if he determines “significant foreign intelligence” is contained in the communications.
The report revealed that during Israel’s lobbying efforts in Congress, the NSA removed the name of lawmakers from their reports on Israel but passed them on to Obama officials.
When asked by the newspaper for a comment, a White House National Security Council spokesman stated: “We do not conduct any foreign intelligence activities unless there is a specific and validated national security purpose. This applies to ordinary citizens and world leaders alike.”
In Israel, Intelligence and Transportation Minister Yisrael Katz stated Wednesday that Israel does not spy on the US and expects any administration to do the same.
“Israel does not spy on the US, and we expect that our great friend, the US, will treat us in a similar fashion,” Katz told Ynet news. “If the information on the subject turns out to be true, Israel must file a formal protest with the American government and demand it stop all activities of this kind.”
Former Israeli national security adviser Yaakov Amidror told Army Radio that claims of the US spying on Israel are unsurprising.
“The US listens in on everyone, we don’t need to get excited about it. Everyone knows — it’s a fact,” he said. “Israel is careful not to carry out any spying operations in the United States, not even a little bit.”

Despite Rocky History, More and More Christians Helping Jews Make Aliyah by Adam Eliyahu Berkowitz - BREAKING ISRAEL NEWS

Despite Rocky History, More and More Christians Helping Jews Make Aliyah

“Then our mouth was filled with laughter, and our tongue with shouts of joy; then they said among the nations, ‘The LORD has done great things for them.’” (Psalms 126:2)
The birth of the State of Israel brought with it practical and spiritual implications for the relations between Jews and Christians in ways that were unimaginable to previous generations. The Jewish State rose up from the ashes of the Holocaust and brought with it something entirely new and unexpected; a movement of Christian funded organizations that see it is as their God-given mission to help the Jews return to Israel as part of their messianic calling.
Operation Exodus is a stellar example of this new relationship. Started in the United Kingdom in 1991 by Gustav Scheller, the organization now has representatives in over 50 countries around the world who have assisted over 150,000 Jewish people in returning to Israel, including 1,750 from the US, as part of the aliyah (immigration to Israel) movement. Operation Exodus is a partner organization of the Jewish Agency for Israel and other Jewish aliyah organizations.
The motivation behind Operation Exodus is rooted in the Bible and a sense of spiritual debt to the Jewish people. According to the group’s mission statement, the State of Israel is a historic opportunity to right the historic wrongs made by Christians against Jews and a way to rebuild the relationship with the Jewish nation.
“Now is the time to bless them and assist them with their return to Israel, the land God promised to give them as an everlasting and unconditional possession (Genesis 17:8),” the Operation Exodus mission statement reads.

The group’s connection with Jews and Israel takes a practical form, supported by generous donations from 200 churches and 97 ministries in the US alone, and thousands more around the world. No less significant is the change in their spiritual connection to the Jewish people, with tens of thousands of Christians worldwide praying for the State of Israel each day.
Operation Exodus also brings Christians to Israel in a program called “Engage” which allows Christians to see and experience first hand life in Israel.
Debra Minotti is the inspired  director of Operation Exodus. Her personal connection with Israel began when, as a child, she saw the televised news of the Six Day War. She knew something deeply significant was happening and her heart drew her to identify with the Jews. Minotti’s life’s work, guided by her Christian belief, has been to help the Jews practically and pray for them spiritually.
“For those of us who are called to this work, it is something very deep and gratifying,” she told Breaking Israel News. “There’s just nothing that gives us more purpose.”
Minotti is not alone. She explained to Breaking Israel News that there are a multitude of Christians like her who care for the Jewish people.
“There’s over 6,000 Christians on our database in the United States who just want to hear what is happening with the Jews and Israel. There’s over 1,000 who are praying specifically just for Jews to make aliyah, and that is just one nation. There are over 50 nations involved in this. What the Jews do with it is up to them. But we are here for them.”
While this type of partnership between Jews and Christians have inspired many, the path has been fraught with difficulties.
The Bridge Builder: The Life and Continuing Legacy of Rabbi Yechiel Eckstein - Read Now!
The largest evangelical Christian group supporting Israel financially, with an annual budget of over $100 million, is the International Fellowship of Christians and Jews (IFCJ), founded by Israeli-American rabbi, Rabbi Yechiel Eckstein in 1983. The organization worked closely with the Jewish Agency for Israel, donating millions of dollars annually towards aliyah and other causes while carrying out its own projects. It is estimated that the IFCJ has provided $150 million to bring Jews to Israel over the last 15 years.
Ten years ago, then Jewish Agency Chairman, Avram Burg, refused to be photographed accepting a $3 million check from Rabbi Eckstein. Relations improved somewhat, leading to the Jewish Agency offering Rabbi Eckstein a seat on the board in 2007. This was considered a major milestone in Judeo-Christian relations, when a representative of an Evangelical charity, albeit a rabbi, sat on the board of the Jewish Agency.
However, old wounds had not entirely healed and the union was not to last. Despite the unprecedented beneficence from the Evangelical world, the Jewish Agency was still unwilling to formalize this partnership in a public manner. This led to the IFCJ breaking off relations and establishing its own independent aliyah program, effectively making them competitors with the Jewish Agency.
This is not the first time the IFCJ’s generosity and good-will was snubbed by an agency it supported and has learned to downplay their involvement to placate the recipients. The Israeli branch of IFCJ is named Keren LaYedidut (Friendship Fund) with no reference in its name to its Christian roots, though its website clearly connects it to the IFCJ. Philanthropy thrives on public recognition of the donor’s generosity, but the Jewish recipients are reluctant to acknowledge this generosity in a public manner.

Rabbi Eckstein, speaking with Breaking Israel News, reflected on the groundbreaking work the IFCJ and the sometimes difficult path his organization has encountered.
“For almost 40 years, I have strived to build bridges of understanding and cooperation between Christians and Jews. During those years, Christians have contributed some $1.3 billion to The Fellowship to help Israel and the Jewish people, including by supporting our ‘Wings of Eagles’ aliyah program,” he explained.
“While most Jews today have come to grasp that we are living in a new day when Christians – historically our greatest enemy – are now our best friends, there are, of course, those who still don’t ‘get it,’ but we dare not even hiccup let alone veer from our path working together to better the world and fulfill our mandate of tikkun olam,” Rabbi Eckstein told Breaking Israel News. “Thank God for these Christian friends – I don’t know where we would be today without their help and unconditional love.”

Why Israel? Why not?

This little booklet consists of messages previously written in my books, which of themselves contain many various themes. I wanted to devote one book to just Israel and the Jewish people, and so this small booklet was compiled.

As you read the following, consider the truth contained in Scriptures, from Genesis to Revelation, which spell out the commitment of God the Father to choose a people who will be a light to the nations.

He chose the Jews, and gave them the Promised Land of Israel. It does not matter what other national governments try to say, do, or accomplish apart from the plans and purposes of the Lord. They will fail. His Word is true. It is eternal. He is the same, yesterday, today and forever, and thus His commitment in keeping His promises made to the Jewish people will be fulfilled.

I hope you stand with them in these last days.

With ISIS Rising in Europe, Queen Elizabeth Boldly Declares Faith in Christ

Join us on our podcast each weekday for an interesting story, well told, from Charisma News. Listen at charismapodcastnetwork.com.

Britain's Queen Elizabeth focused on what she called the light of the Christian faith in her annual Christmas message on Friday, after a year marked by militant Islamist attacks across the world.
Elizabeth, 89, the head of the Church of England, quoted the Bible and spoke of millions of people lighting candles of hope.
"It is true," she said, "that the world has had to confront moments of darkness this year, but the Gospel of John contains a verse of great hope, often read at Christmas carol services: 'The light shines in the darkness and the darkness has not overcome it.'"
Elizabeth, who overtook her great, great grandmother Queen Victoria this year to become Britain's longest-reigning monarch, recorded the message earlier this month at Buckingham Palace, her London residence.
She did not make direct reference to Islamist attacks in 2015, which included two in Paris killing some 150 people and a beach massacre of tourists in Tunisia in June in which 38 people died, most of them British.
But she reminded her audience that Christianity's unchanging message "was not one of revenge or violence but simply that we should love one another."
She added: "There's an old saying that it is better to light a candle than curse the darkness."
Seated in front of a Christmas tree as she delivered the latest in a long line of seasonal royal messages that date back to George V in 1932, the queen, who turns 90 in April, reflected on her reign of over 63 years.
"One of the joys of living a long life is watching one's children, then grandchildren, then great-grandchildren, help decorate the Christmas tree," she said.
"And this year my family has a new member to join the fun," she added, referring to her fifth great-grandchild, Princess Charlotte, who was born in May to her grandson Prince William and his wife Kate.
"Gathering round the tree gives us a chance to think about the year ahead - I am looking forward to a busy 2016, though I have been warned I may have 'Happy Birthday' sung to me more than once or twice."
She concluded: "There are millions of people lighting candles of hope in our world today. Christmas is a good time to be thankful for them and for all that brings light to our lives."
