And Moses spoke to God saying, "Let the Lord, the God of all spirits of mankind, set a man over the congregation...that the congregation of the Lord be not as sheep with no shepherd."

See how great is Moses! He overcomes his deep, private pain of being unable to enter the Land. Instead, he focuses on finding someone worthy to lead his beloved people after his passing, so they will not be "as sheep with no shepherd." In life we also have our setbacks and disappointments, but by focusing on helping others we raise ourselves up. For over 40 years, Avraham Herzlich has grazed his flock on the mountains of Israel. To share his biblical way of life, Avraham created an interactive Shepherd's Tent which attracted many visitors last year from around the world. When his tent was destroyed, Avraham set his sights on rebuilding and expanding. Now you can take part and have your name in the Visitor's Center! You'll be proud of your connection to the Holy Land.

Rebecca Kowalsky's beautiful photo of sheep in Bikat HaYarden. About a 25 minute drive from Jerusalem, this town is near Mount Sartabah. In ancient times, the Sanhedrin would announce the new moon by having torches lit on mountaintops for all to see. Mount Sartabah is listed in the Talmud as the second mountain along the route of those torches.
