Jerusalem & Friends - Derek Prince & Israel - Now Think On This by Steve Martin

Now Think On This
Steve Martin

“They were pleased to do it, but the fact is that they owe it to them. For if the Gentiles have shared with the Jews in spiritual matters, then the Gentiles clearly have a duty to help the Jews in material matters.” (Romans 15:27-28, Complete Jewish Bible)

Derek Prince (1915-2003), one of my favorite all-time Bible teachers (born in India to British parents, educated at Eaton and King’s College in England, pastored in Canada, ministered from Fort Lauderdale, Florida, Hawaii and Jerusalem, and buried in the German Colony of Jerusalem) spoke often of the Gentiles’ (goyim, non-Jews) debt to Israel and the Jews. In fact, his small booklet, Our Debt To Israel, had a profound impact on my life in 1985. Truth was discovered and believed.

Having studied God’s Word extensively, and thus becoming a strong supporter of the Jewish nation of Israel, while at the same time dismissing the errant teaching of Replacement Theology (the lie that the Church has replaced the promises given to the Jews, land and all), Derek preached and taught that those who have received so much from the Jews owe so much to the Jews.

Knowing that foundationally all that we have, as believers in Jesus (Hebrew/Jewish name Yeshua), has come through the Jews (God’s Chosen People), as Gentiles being grafted into the olive tree (Israel), we must be strong in our commitment and support of the Jews continually and unwavering, as Derek taught.

Beginning with the Patriarchs (Abraham, Isaac and Jacob), through the Prophets (Isaiah, Daniel, Jeremiah, Amos, and more), with the Kings (Saul, David, Solomon) and then ultimately with the lineage birth of the Messiah in Bethlehem (Bet Lehem, Israel), Yeshua HaMashiach (Jesus the Christ) - all that we have, fully inscribed and written through the centuries in the Torah, Tanakh and complete Bible – proves historically and spiritually that salvation for the nations has come through the Jews. Even all but one of the apostles (Luke the Physician), those who received God's Word through the inspiration of the Holy Spirit and wrote the complete New Testament, were Jews.

“Jesus said to her, "Woman, believe Me, the hour is coming when you will neither on this mountain, nor in Jerusalem, worship the Father.  You worship what you do not know; we know what we worship, for salvation is of the Jews. But the hour is coming, and now is, when the true worshipers will worship the Father in spirit and truth; for the Father is seeking such to worship Him.  God is Spirit, and those who worship Him must worship in spirit and truth."

The woman said to Him, "I know that Messiah is coming" (who is called Christ). "When He comes, He will tell us all things." Jesus said to her, "I who speak to you am He." (John 4:21-26, NKJV)

How can we not owe a huge debt to the Jews! Our very Savior, Jesus, Himself a Jew, chose to reveal Himself to the world, through God the Father, along with the Holy Spirit (Ruach HaKodesh), through the Jews. In Israel He was born, lived 33 years, taught the only way to the Father, was crucified on a tree, died, buried and was resurrected, preparing from His throne in heaven to come back a second time, soon.

“Yeshua said, “I AM the Way — and the Truth and the Life; no one comes to the Father except through me.” (John 14:6, Complete Jewish Bible)

Derek and his wife Lydia, followed by his second wife Ruth, lived in the capital city of Israel, Jerusalem, for several decades, teaching the Church and the nations to believe the full Word of God. Because of his commitment to His Savior’s teaching, many now are numbered among those who stand strong for the people of Israel. Indeed, my family is counted with these.

This is not a matter of subjective theory, but of plain, historical fact. If there had never been a nation of Israel, there would have been no patriarchs, no prophets, no apostles, no Bible and no Saviour. In John 4:22, Jesus Himself summed all this up in one simple statement: "Salvation is from the Jews." Christians from all other racial backgrounds owe to the Jewish people a spiritual debt which can never be calculated.Derek Prince

We owe a tremendous debt to the Jews. With faithful Biblical teachers like Derek Prince, we can know the truth and walk in it. Having received in the spiritual, we now must repay in the natural – with our finances, voice, actions and the written word – to the Jewish people.

Shalom and ahava (peace and love in Hebrew).

What Santa Claus Has to Do With Kenneth Copeland, Lou Engle, Che Ahn and Mike Bickle

Join us on our podcast each weekday for an interesting story, well told, from Charisma News. Listen at charismapodcastnetwork.com.

As the legend of St. Nick begins to make the rounds ahead of Christmas, there's a deeper meaning in the man's life that united the who's who of the charismatic world hundreds of years later.
Kenneth Copeland, Mike Bickle, Che Ahn, Lou Engle, Cardinal Daniel DiNardo and John Arnott, to name a few, spent last week on their knees in Kansas City, Missouri, to celebrate major milestones in the international church. It was all part of Kairos 2017, a conference hosted by United in Christ.
Initially, the idea for the conference was birthed in Bari, Italy, where the Basilica di San Nicola holds some of Saint Nicholas' relics. The city represents a place of neutrality for the Catholic and Orthodox churches, which both consider the basilica worthy of pilgrimage.
As Matteo Calisi, the founder of United in Christ, bridged the gap between the Catholic church and charismatic leaders, he and others began to pray into the idea of renewal. For 2017, United in Christ wanted to honor the reconciliation between denominations with a time of prayer, fasting and celebration.
"We want to launch for the first time ever, Catholics and non-Catholics and Orthodox, Messianics and all other Christians, an assertive joint effort of prayer and fasting for the harvest for world evangelism," Bruno Ierullo, a pastor of a Catch the Fire church in Canada, as well as the vice president of United in Christ. "This is just like, amazing! There a lot of people just excited [for what's to come]."
This year contains multiple anniversaries:
40-year anniversary of the Ecumenical Charismatic Conference in Kansas City (1977)
50-year anniversary of the Catholic Charismatic Renewal (1967)
50-year anniversary of the Messianic Movement (1967)
500-year anniversary of the Protestant Reformation (1517)
The event was held at Forerunner Christian Fellowship, International House of Prayer's conference center. Attendees also spent several hours in the 24/7 prayer room. The conference featured multiple panels, including lectures on diversity and unity in the church, marketplace ministry and more.
In addition to celebrating the past, prayerfully considered what the future may hold.
"We believe the journey of harvest will come," Ierullo says. "The body of Christ is in that hour. God is bringing His bride into almost like an Esther-like moment so to speak, into a beauty parlor kind of thing. He's adorning it, and she makes herself ready to meet the king, King Jesus, the bridegroom. We're in that stage where bride is perfecting herself, the bride is adorning herself in the beauty salon for that great day. We believe there is a bridal paradigm, and we're doing this, the body of Christ is readying itself. It's a lot of hard work to connect people, so we are here with that dream."
Ierullo says he believes the baton of previous revivals has now been passed to the next generation. The attendees agreed to intercede together for what's to come.
The key takeaway includes the "initiative for prayer and fasting together until the harvest," Ierullo says.
Attendees also sowed into United in Christ so the ministry could "win cities all across America, come to cities to help ministries and rally up troops for the harvest."

“It May Not Be As You Think” - Ahava Love Letter (Steve Martin)

“It May Not Be As You Think”

“Now there are varieties of gifts, but the same Spirit. And there are varieties of ministries, and the same Lord. There are varieties of effects, but the same God who works all things in all persons. But to each one is given the manifestation of the Spirit for the common good.” (1 Corinthians 12:4-8) NASU)

Dear family of friends,

What picture comes to your mind when I write, “I have a nice dog.” If you were raised having a dog as a pet, you’d probably think of that particular breed, which would hopefully bring back good memories. Or if you didn’t have a pet, but the neighbors did, that picture of a dog might come to your mind. And I trust that was a good dog.

Did you know that there are at least 339 breeds of dogs in the world, according to the World Canine Organization, best known by its French title Fédération Cynologique Internationale (FCI)? At the time of this writing the FCI recognizes 339 breeds of dogs which are divided into 10 groups based upon the dog’s purpose or function or upon its appearance or size.

Notice too that these breeds are then divided into 10 groups, which can also have further diversity among then – in color, size, personality, and more. Not one animal has been created exactly the same.

Now let’s consider humankind. (In no way am I comparing humans to dogs, nor am I making any evolution connection here. Straight forward, I believe God created man in His own image, and we didn’t evolve from a glob or an ape.) But we each too have many unique features also, as realized among people groups, both for men and women. That is obvious. And a great thing!

In going further with this, what do you think of when I write the word “teacher”? Growing up we each experienced good school teachers, bad ones, and all types in between. We have mental impressions of what a teacher is, and what they are expected to do. And your concept of a teacher may be different than what Daniel, Logan, or Dylan may think. A lot may depend upon what your experiences in connection with a teacher were like growing up, or even now.

Going deeper still, what comes to mind when I write, “They are a teacher in the church.” Do you think of someone reading aloud the Bible, verse by verse from the pulpit, and then explaining what he or she thinks it says? Do you picture a favorite Sunday school teacher, telling a story based on a biblical figure? Or do you remember the one who helped you understand a personal situation in your life, to apply a foundational truth and principle to a concern you had?

I believe each of these persons can be viewed as a teacher. Each is giving out of the unique gifting that the Lord has given to them, for the good of the Body of Christ. All may possess a difference in their thought content and delivery, but at the same time are imparting a portion of His Word in their way, based on their personality and understanding.

Sometimes we tend to categorize someone, or something, into a pre-determined concept or “box” we already have in our mind. In doing so, we can limit what we receive from them, or how they are allowed to minister to us. If we look at each gifting (person) the same way, with the same expected delivery, we can miss the full impact of what the Lord has for us. If something is brought to us in a way that we are not accustomed to, or consider the norm, we may be rejecting the very gift the Lord is trying to give to us; be it from a person or even a current move of the Holy Spirit.

Personally, I missed it years ago when I was told prophetically that I was a teacher in the Body of Christ. My image of a “teacher” at that time was of one who stood before a group and expounded on the Scriptures, chapter by chapter. I knew I wasn’t that, and didn’t believe that I ever would be either. And so I categorically rejected that word over and over again, given at various times by several people to me.

What I failed to realize, over this period of a decade or more, was that His expression in gifts given comes through in various ways, through various people. Because the Lord is so vast in His creative giftings He gives to us, one expression of His teaching gift that I was given can come through even in a simple form, such as writing these letters to His people. Now that I can understand and have faith for, to share this teaching gift in my life. His love can now more fully flow through me in that way.

I hope you are open to receiving the many expressions of the Lord Yeshua’s giftings – both from others around you, and of those that you have been given within yourself to share. Once we realize and accept this, we can each appreciate even more His love for His people.

I truly appreciate how the Lord expresses Himself in so many ways. We serve an awesome God!
