Divine Promises of Produce ✡ "The Fruit Of Your Olive Trees" - Israel365

When you beat down the fruit of your olive trees,
do not go over them again; that shall go to the stranger,
the fatherless, and the widow

Deuteronomy 24:20 (The Israel Bible™)

This week marks the Jewish holiday of Tu B'Shevat:
The New Year of the Trees

Divine Promises of Produce

In ancient times, olive trees were harvested with a stick, causing the olives to fall to the ground. The commandment in Deuteronomy 24:20 hints to the blessing of abundance in the Land of Israel. Hashem (God) promises that the Land will yield so much produce that the farmers will only need to harvest what falls off with the beating of the branches; they will not be bothered to use a ladder to reach the fruit at the top of the tree. As pictured above, the Land of Israel is ripe with countless groves of hearty olive trees demonstrating the fulfillment of Hashem’s promise.

Tour Jerusalem's Kidron Valley in this Video! ✡ "Thy Olive Tree" - ISRAEL365

When thou beat thy olive tree, thou shalt not go over the boughs again; it shall be for the stranger, for the orphan, and for the widow.

Today's Israel Inspiration

In biblical times in Israel, olive trees were harvested by beating the branches with a stick, causing the olives to fall to the ground, as it says in our verse "when you beat thy olive trees". According to the Sages, this hints to the blessing of abundance in the Land of Israel. There will be so much produce that the farmers will only need to harvest what falls off with the beating of the tree branches; they will not need to bother to climb a ladder in order to reach what was left at the top. What remains on the tree is left for the poor and needy. Now you can plant your roots in the blessed Holy Land!
