An Important Lesson ✡ "I Displayed My Signs Among Them" - Israel365

And that you may recount in the hearing of your sons and of your sons’ sons how I made a mockery of the Egyptians and how I displayed My signs among them—in order that you may know that I am Hashem Exodus 10:2 (The Israel Bible™) וּלְמַעַן תְּסַפֵּר בְּאָזְנֵי בִנְךָ וּבֶן־בִּנְךָ אֵת אֲשֶׁר הִתְעַלַּלְתִּי בְּמִצְרַיִם וְאֶת־אֹתֹתַיאֲשֶׁר־שַׂמְתִּי בָם וִידַעְתֶּם כִּי־אֲנִי יְהוָה Hear the verse in Hebrew ul-MA-an t’-sa-PAYR b’-oz-NAY vin-kha u-VEN bin-KHA AYT a-SHER hit-a-LAL-tee b’-mitz-RA-yim v’-et o-to-TAI a-sher SAM-tee VAM vee-da-TEM kee a-NEE a-do-NAI   Passover: The Festival of Freedom Hashem (God) plagued the Egyptians to teach that that He is the true God. In the above verse, Hashem adds that the plagues are also intended to cause the Children of Israel to recognize His power. After living in Egypt for generations, the Jewish people had becomes influenced by their idolatrous surroundings. The reminder to the Children of Israel that Hashem runs the world was especially important as they were about to follow Hashem into the wilderness on their journey to the Promised Land. Jews are commanded to remember the exodus every day of their lives. The memory of the miracles that took place then continues to strengthen our faith and ability to meet life's challenges. After generations of enslavement in Egypt, the Jewish people were influenced by their idolatrous surroundings. The plagues served a reminder of Hashem's absolute control over everything: water, earth, the animal kingdom and human life. This lesson was especially important as the Children of Israel were about to follow God into the wilderness on their journey to the Promised Land. Today, Jews around the world continue to remember the exodus story and  they are inspired by the words of the Torah(Bible) to journey to Israel and to settle in the Promised Land.
