Biblical Inspiration in the Modern World ✡ "Your Children Shall Return To Their Country" - Israel365

And there is hope for your future —declares Hashem: Your children shall return to their country
Jeremiah 31:16 (The Israel Bible™)

יֵשׁ־תִּקְוָה לְאַחֲרִיתֵךְ נְאֻם־יְהֹוָה וְשָׁבוּ בָנִים לִגְבוּלָם
Hear the verse in Hebrew

v’-yaysh tik-VAH l’-a-kha-ree-TAYKH n’-um a-do-NAI v’-SHA-vu va-NEEM lig-vu-LAM

Biblical Inspiration in the Modern World

In this moving passage, God speaks directly to the matriarch Rachel, who is known in Jewish tradition as having a special role in the redemption of her children, the Jewish people, and their return to Israel. According to Jewish tradition, when her father Laban gave her sister Leah to Yaakov (Jacob) in marriage in her stead, Rachel revealed to Leah a secret sign she had made with Yaakov in order to spare Leah from embarrassment. Because of Rachel’s unparalleled selflessness and love for her sister, it is Rachel’s prayers, tears and cries for compassion to her children that are heard by God more than any other biblical figure. God promises Rachel that those tears are not for naught, but rather “There is a reward for your labor” (verse 16) and “your children shall return to their country.” In a moving example of symbolism, this verse is often sung with emotion at Ben Gurion Airport as new Jewish immigrants arrive in Israel. Israel Photo Trivia ✡ "Hope for Your Future" - ISRAEL365

There is hope for your future, declares the Lord, and your children shall come back to their own borders.

וְיֵשׁ תִּקְוָה לְאַחֲרִיתֵךְ נְאֻם יְ-הוָה וְשָׁבוּ בָנִים לִגְבוּלָם

יִרְמְיָהוּ לא:טז

Today's Israel Inspiration

It is the way of the nation of Israel to live with "hope for the future" as taught by Jeremiah in today's verse. A feeling of hope is so vital to living a spiritual and fulfilling life here in the Holy Land that an aptly named Israeli non-profit, TikvahHope, is determined to infuse hope into the hearts of children from impoverished homes all around Israel. With enriching after-school programs and hot meals, TikvahHope gives Israeli children and their struggling families a chance to break out of the cycle of poverty.

Sterling Silver Jerusalem Kiddush Cup

It is tradition for Jews to recite holiday, Sabbath and wedding blessings over a cup of wine. On the Sabbath, the designated cup for the blessing over the wine is meant to be a beautiful vessel. This specific Kiddush cup has a motif of Jerusalem, Judaism's holiest city, where the Temple stood. Made of Sterling silver, and wrapped with a band inscribed twice with the word Jerusalem.

Rabbi Tuly, My wife and I are South African Christians, and we pray for the well-being of the Land of Israel every day.  Please remember that you and your countrymen are the apple of God’s eye, He holds you in the hollow of his hand, He watches over you day and night, and our Lord will not allow anybody to touch His people in his beloved country of Israel.  God will bless and keep you and make His face shine upon you!!

Summer of Hope ✡ "Hope for Your Future"

There is hope for your future, declares the Lord, and your children shall come back to their own borders.

JEREMIAH (31:16)

וְיֵשׁ תִּקְוָה לְאַחֲרִיתֵךְ נְאֻם יְ-הוָה וְשָׁבוּ בָנִים לִגְבוּלָם

יִרְמְיָהוּ לא:טז

Today's Israel Inspiration

It is the way of the Jewish people to live with "hope for the future" as taught by the Prophets of Israel. A feeling of hope is so vital to living a spiritual and fulfilling life here in the Holy Land that one non-profit is focusing on giving a "summer of hope" to needy children. Going beyond its traditional food deliveries and soup kitchens, Meir Panim is running highly subsidized day camps to get needy children off the street and into safe and nurturing programs for the hot summer days.
