Best Spot to Visit in Jerusalem ✡ "And Called It the City of David" - JERUSALEM365

And David dwelt in the stronghold, and called it the
city of David. And David built round about from
Millo and inward.

וַיֵּשֶׁב דָּוִד בַּמְּצֻדָה וַיִּקְרָא לָהּ עִיר דָּוִד וַיִּבֶן דָּוִד סָבִיב מִן הַמִּלּוֹא וָבָיְתָה

Jerusalem Inspiration

The City of David is the birthplace of the city of Jerusalem, the place where King David established his kingdom.  One of the most fascinating parts of the City of David is the tunnel of Shiloh - a 533-meter-long tunnel that was carved during the period of King Hezkiyahu. The tunnel extends from the city to the well at Shiloh, and is an astounding engineering feat. Its builders carved the tunnel through solid rock beginning from opposite ends and succeeded in making the two sides meet in the middle. If you visit the archaeological park, you can walk through the tunnel which is partially filled with water, and come out at the pools of Shiloh.  Touring the City of David is like taking a walk through ancient history!  Now you can take history with you wherever you go with City of David Jewelry.  Each breathtaking piece is designed from inspirations of actual archaeological findings in the Biblical city.

Take Home a Piece of History ✡ "Into the City of David With Joy" - JERUSALEM365

And it was told king David, saying: ‘The LORD hath blessed the house of Obed-edom, and all that pertaineth unto him, because of the ark of God.’ And David went and brought up the ark of God from the house of
Obed-edom into the city of David with joy.

Jerusalem Inspiration

In today's verse, King David is ready to bring the Holy Ark to the City of David, also known as Zion and Jerusalem. This is done with great joy, with the king himself participating in the festive dancing. Bringing the Holy Ark to the city of David transforms the city from being solely the political capital to the political and spiritual capital of the nation. The People of Israel will bring their sacrifices to Jerusalem and be inspired by the Divine Presence that rests there. Jerusalem becomes the focal point for the Jewish People and all who seek closeness with the Almighty. City of David jewelry carries along with it the ancient biblical world. Each unique and gorgeous replica copies archaeological findings to the most minute detail.

Divine Inspiration in Naming a Child ✡ "The Chief Cornerstone" - JERUSALEM365

The stone which the builders rejected is become
the chief corner-stone.

אֶבֶן מָאֲסוּ הַבּוֹנִים הָיְתָה לְרֹאשׁ פִּנָּה

תהילים קיח:כב

e-ven ma-ah-su ha-bo-neem ha-y'-ta l'-rosh pi-na

Jerusalem Inspiration

Today's verse refers to King David, the second monarch of Israel.  David was the youngest son of Jesse and his ordination came as a surprise to his family.  The 'hated stone', the seemingly young, immature or unworthy brother, was chosen as king, the 'cornerstone' of the Davidic dynasty.  King David's message is clear; every individual has intrinsic value and endless potential.  'TikvaHope' brings joy to underprivileged children who truly take this message to heart. This Purim, show kindness to the neediest youth of Israel, and help them discover their inner value.

Vibrant Poster of Jerusalem

The city of Jerusalem is the holiest and most adored in Jewish tradition. This is highlighted throughout the Bible which describes the city as the height of beauty. In Tamar Messer's hands, the Holy City transforms into a vivid dream, the Jerusalem stone and the orange and yellow hues so commonly found in its streets, depicted with a unique vibrancy.

Today's picture by Yehoshua Halevi shows the note filled stones of the Western Wall.  This is just one of the ways that man attempts to communicate with God.

Yesterday's Photo Trivia

The indentations shown in yesterday's photo are called crenulations.  These indentations can occur naturally in nature, or they can be chiseled into the stone structure as was done in the old city walls.

Amazing Underwater Dead Sea Footage ✡ "The Mountains Did Tremble" - JERUSALEM365

Then the earth did shake and quake, the foundations also of the mountains did tremble;
they were shaken, because He was wroth

PSALMS (18:8)

va-tig-ash va-tir-ash ha-a-retz u-mo-s'-day ha-reem yir-ga-zu va-yit-ga-a-shu kee kha-rah lo

Jerusalem Inspiration

David sings a song of gratitude to God after defeating his enemies. Sometimes God’s support is in the form of a ‘still small voice’ (I Kings 19:12); other times it shakes the very foundations of the world. In Israel, there have been a number of quakes which shook the earth over the years. The Dead Sea, for example, is a result of a cataclysmic rift in the earth’s crust, a result of the shifting of plates under the surface. This shift produced mountain ranges and volcanoes in the Golan Heights, as well as deep fissures. The Dead Sea was formed from one of these fissures, and is the world's largest hypersaline lake.  Aside from being a fantastic vacation destination, the waters of the Dead Sea have been proven to have a host of healing powers.  Feel Israel on your skin with our most popular Dead Sea products!

Olive Wood Pendants

These fabulous olive wood pendant necklaces with the Star of David come in two sizes, small and large. Both sizes have a flat olive wood base, in all of the wood’s striking, unique coloring, and have a pewter Star of David appended to the front to adorn it. The pendants come with a leather cord, a strong way of hanging a bold pendant around one’s neck.
