Israel Rejects European Pressure for Palestinian State as Solution for Gaza War; Tsunami Warning Issued after Quake Shakes Parts of Russia, Japan

Israel is rejecting a European push to force a Palestinian state on Israel as a solution to the war in Gaza. After British Prime Minister Keir Starmer warned Tuesday that the U.K. would support a French proposal to recognize a Palestinian state in September if Israel didn't agree to a ceasefire. Israeli Foreign Minister Gideon Sa'ar responded, "It ain't gonna happen," insisting there won't be a "jihadist terror state" in the ancient Jewish homeland. President Donald Trump also voiced objections to the Starmer plan. Meanwhile, the entire Arab League and the European Union signed a declaration condemning the October 7th massacre and calling on Hamas to release all 50 Israeli hostages, and for the terror group to end its rule in Gaza. Here's what you need to know.
