Merciful One will lead them - Israel365

Their Merciful One will lead them, and along streams of water will He guide them.

ISAIAH (49:10)

כִּי מְרַחֲמָם יְנַהֲגֵם וְעַל מַבּוּעֵי מַיִם יְנַהֲלֵם

ישעיהו מ’’ט:י

Today's Israel Inspiration

In this verse, God is referred to as “The Merciful One” or מְרַחֲמָם / mi-ra-kha-MAM in Hebrew. The Hebrew word for mercy, רחם / ra-KHAYM also means a ‘womb’ because of a mother’s natural mercy for her offspring. Isaiah is teaching us that God will provide for us and show mercy just like a mother has great compassion for her child. Unfortunately there are close to 40,000 abortions in Israel every year. More than 80% of them are due to economic concerns. If you think that financial worries should not lead to abortion, make your voice heard!

Israel's Northern Paradise

See the beauty of the Gan HaShlosha Nature Reserve (also called Sachne), and understand why many visitors are convinced this is the real world Garden of Eden!

A Modern Miracle

In a small office in Jerusalem, sits one of the greatest modern day miracles of Israel. The EFRAT organization and its affiliate, Save a Jewish Baby, is responsible for saving the lives of over 57,000 Israelis to date.

Passover Cup of Elijah

This beautifully handpainted Passover cup depicts the Exodus from Egypt. With special lacquer, it may be hand washed and enjoyed for years to come.

Today's Israel Photo

Thanks to reader Vincent Morgan for sharing this photo of his favorite place to relax in Israel - Gan HaShlosha (or Sachne). With natural spring water flowing from Mount Gilboa, this is one of the most beautiful spots in northern Israel.

Yesterday's Photo Trivia

Ilan Rosen's photo features the magnificent Gamla in northern Israel. One look at the hump-like shape of the hill is enough to understand why it was called Gamla, which comes from the Hebrew word for camel/ גמל ("gamal").
