Today is the first day of the Hebrew month of Sivan, "the third month" of today's verse. On this special day, the Israelites arrived at Mount Sinai and prepared to receive the Holy Torah. In a beautiful lesson, our verse uses the word "encamped" in the singular form of the verb, to emphasize that the nation was united as one, with one heart, and without strife and contention amongst them. We merit the blessings of the Torah only when peace and harmony prevails amongst us. Learn authentic Torah with Root Source, an online resource of knowledgeable, Orthodox Israeli Jews teaching Christians around the world about Jewish thought, to more deeply understand the roots of their faith.

I enjoy Israel365, all the beautiful photographs, articles and comments. I live in Texas. Patrick Sanders
I feel blessed to be part of your ministry. I love receiving your emails and enjoying every one of the pictures taken all over Israel, especially Jerusalem where I lived with my sister for a year while I cared for her as she was diagnosed with breast cancer. It has been 7 years since I left Jerusalem but God has kept my heart beating for the Land. I look forward to the day my husband and I move to Israel. Thank you for keeping me abreast of what is happening in Israel - the good and the bad - so that I can lift our Jewish brothers and sisters in prayer. What I miss the most about Israel are the feasts, having Shabbats with my sister, and going to the Old City and the Kotel. Nevertheless, because of your emails I am able to experience Israel all over again. Thank you! Shalom, Marta Allen from San Diego, California |
